What Are Hatchmons?

Hatchmons are baby companions that hatch from eggs you collect after clearing combat rooms—each is random in type.
They have their own health bar, attack styles (auto-shoot, melee, shielding), and can level up every 2–3 rooms to increase power.

Super Pets: Evolution of Hatchmons

In Neon Abyss 2, unlocking two duplicate Hatchmons enables them to combine into a Super Pet, granting enhanced abilities.
Super Pets preserve old skills and unlock unique bonus effects—like double shots, explosive area attacks, or stronger shields.

Hatchmon & Super Pet Table
  • Hatchmon Base Ability Super / Evolved Effects
  • Adam Automatically shoots Adam II: double shot → Adam III: triple shot + big death blasts
  • Alien Baby Shoots heat-seeking bullet Alien Baby X: fires two seekers
  • Angry Teapot Increases fire rate Boost at death remains, no further evo
  • Baby Blue Doctor Drops shields on death Evolves once, no super form
  • Cactus Baby Deals contact damage Evolves to shoot penetrating bullets; AoE burst on final death
  • Blue Brick Blocks projectiles Chance to duplicate on death
  • Fire Devil Shoots fireballs Becomes Flame Devil: two shots + death fire explosion

Deployment Tips & Caveats

Mind the blast radius—explosions or friendly fire can kill your Hatchmons. Position them wisely.
Always aim to fuse: having two of the same type is key to unlocking Super Pets.

Pet + Item Synergies

Boost your pet build with these key items (from original Neon Abyss, likely returning):

Candy Cane / Candy Corn: increases fire rate or projectile range per pet.
Crystal Hard Candy: grants crystals upon each pet evolution.
Chocolate Coin, Chocolate Cookies, Toffee Apple, Spicy Candy: reward coins, bombs, hearts, or angry sprites when pets evolve.

Pet-Centric Build Strategy

Prioritize eggs early in run.
Aim to hatch two identical pets for Super Pet upgrade.
Equip synergy items like Candy Cane/Corn or Hard Candy.
Protect your pets—avoid reckless explosives.

I can't figure out what the little hammer hitting the egg is for. Does that mean it's closer to hatching after a level?
