우리들은 이제 딸감 하나 구하는데 카드사의 눈치를 보며 허락을 구해야되는 시대에 접어들었다. 2025년 7월 17일, 스팀은 돌련 성인게임 및 성인 콘텐츠의 대량 검열 및 삭제에 돌입했다. 심지어 성인 콘텐츠가 아님에도 그저 조금 야하다는 이유로 차단되고 있는 상태이다. 그 배경에는 비자, 마스터카드, 페이팔 등 해외 결제 업체들의 자칭 '도덕적 기준' 때문이다. 스팀에 새롭게 추가된 정책은 다음과 같이 명시하고 있다. '결제 처리 업체, 카드사, 은행, 인터넷 제공 업체가 규정한 규칙을 위반할 수 있는 콘텐츠 급지'. 이 뜻은 창작물의 내용이 이들 유럽 귀족놈들이 장악하여 세계를 독점하고 있는 글로벌 금융세력의 취향에 맞지 않으면, 아무런 예고도 없이 삭제된다는 뜻이다. 실제로도 현재진행형으로 수많은 게임과 콘텐츠, 모드가 경고도 없이 통째로 증발하고 있고, 개인 창작 콘텐츠 마저 성인태그 하나로 잘려나가고 있는 실태다.
이는 단순한 검열의 문제가 아니다. '금융 검열' 이자, '문화 통제' 의 일환이다. 벨브는 "우리는 모든 게임을 환영한다" 고 했지만, 이제 그들은 친절한 글로벌 금융사의 탈을 쓴 유럽 부르주아 계층의 심기를 거스르지 않기 위해 스스로의 목을 치고 있다. 표현의 자유와 소비자의 선택권, 문화 다양성은 모두 이들 부르주아 계층의 손 끝에서 좌우된다. 우리에게 필요한것은 더 많은 '도덕' 이 아니라, 이 썩어빠진 금융 제국주의를 해체할 '자유' 가 필요하다. 우리는 이 금융 독점 3사의 이용을 중단해야된다. 이는 단순히 딸감을 지키고자 고집부리는게 아니다. 취미와 오락를 넘어선, 문화와 권리, 그리고 저항의 전선에 서는 일이다. 이들의 귀족놀음은, 부르주아적 도덕주의와 자본력의 강요로서 이루어지는 글로벌 신자유주의적 문화 제국주의는 이 금융 카르텔을 깨부숴야만 끝날것이다.

We are now witnessing a troubling era in which access to adult-oriented media is increasingly dictated by the ideological preferences of global financial instituions. On July 17, 2025, Steam initiated a sweeping and largely unannounced purge of adult games and content, under newly introduced guidelines that prohibit any material deemed to contravene the standards set by payment processors, credit card companies, banks, and internet service providors.

What this policy truly signals is a shift in power ,from content creators and platforms to unelected financial arbiters such as Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal. These entities have assumed the role of moral gatekeepers, weaponizing their control over transactions to enforce a narrow cultural orthodoxy. Alarmingly, even content that does not meet the conventional definiton of adult material is being removed for merely appearing provocative or suggestive.

This is not a case of routine moderation or risk managment, it is a textbook example of financial censorship, and a calculated extension of cultural imperialism. Valve, once a staunch defender of creative freedom, has now capitulated to the whims of transnational capital disguised as moral propriety. In doing so, they've abandoned the principle of open expression in favor of appeasing corporate sensitivites.

We are witnessing the rise of a new cultural hegemony, where the boundaries of art, entertainment, and discourse are no longer set by democratic participation, but by opaque financial interests rooted in Western bourgeios values. What is needed now is not more moral policing, but the collective assertion of freedom. freedom to create, to consume, and to challenge dominant power structures.

To that end, it is not merely advisable but essential that we boycott the financial triad that is driving this censorship regime. This is not about defending pornography; it is about resisting the creeping global standardization of culture enforced through economic coersion. Until we confront and dismantle this cartel of moral capitalism, true cultural autonomy will remain out of reach.
