Best way to play Enlisted on Linux
Tested with:

Kubuntu 25.04
Kernel version: 6.14.0-23-generic (64-bit)
Graphics platform: Wayland
AMD gpu, Standard Mesa drivers.

Native Linux

Native Linux port has very bad performance issues, roughly 50% of the fps compared to windows.

It is what i would consider "playable" and i didn't find any major graphical problems, but almost doubling the fps when moving to proton is most likely something that everyone will prefer. It is great to have native port with vulkan but it still needs major work, hopefully the devs will keep improving it.

audio is very blown out causing distortion. Some audio clips like npc voicelines don't play properly.

Proton

tested with proton experimental and dx12

Slightly lower fps compared to windows but overall very close in performance.

No graphical issues, no lag spikes etc. basically looks and plays the same as on windows but slightly lower fps. (usually within 5-10 fps on my system, never worse than 15fps difference, targeting 120fps)

Audio is still slightly blown out but nowhere near as bad as the native port. All audio clips seem to play as they should.

*****IMPORTANT*****

when running the proton version you must install BattlEye manually!
it is very easy. just search in your library for "Proton BattlEye Runtime" and install it.
without manual battleye install you will be kicked from a battle (there seems to be no other penalty, atleast i didn't get banned)

gamemode seems to give about 10fps boost when enabled. (tested on native version, didn't compare with proton)

also it seems that all premium squads etc. work without issues when moving to linux (both native and proton)

Overall it is a multiplayer game that is very easy to get working on linux, and runs surprisingly well under proton, with minimal tinkering.
