Beating Ithaqua solo
By Dimitri Cosmos
The problem with Ithaqua mission, is that you always need extra items and extra glyphs; otherwise the odds are against you. And there's no better character to have extra glyphs at you disposal than Jenny Barnes. She doesn't guarantee 100% success, but you can gather sufficient amount of items and Elder Signs to atleast get close to the final battle. Here's what you should know.

General progress and milestones
1. After the first battle (which is a success 99% of time without using any items), you start gathering items in the Museum to launch expedition to Alaska. It is important to gather as much supplies as possible, as you will be loosing one each turn in Alaska and after you run out of them, it is -2 stamina each turn, so ensure to have atleast 12 (15 is optimal) before departure.

To do it the fastest way, focus on those adventures that open portals to other worlds, as other world adventures usually have extra supplies as a reward (up to 3).

In the beginning, try to clear locked glyphs and midnight events, too, if possible. Ensure, that you have sufficient amount of items (atleast to conjure 8 glyphs) before entering those adventures. I usually manage to get atleast 90% success rate.

After 3 or 5 days this is how the map starts to look like.

By that time you should also have gathered 12-15 supplies. Don't bother fighting the monsters or unlocking the glyphs. Now, your priority should be item buying. Buy as many clues as possible (atleast 10), before the Doom Track advances to 6, as you will be needing plenty of those in Alaska, where it's harder to keep a positive balance. It might even be possible that you won't have enough for final battle. So make sure it doesn't happen.

If there are more than 6 doom tokens on the Doom Track before departure, restart the campaign, you won't make it anyway.

2. In Alaska, focus on those adventures that award Elder Signs (the more, the better) or open portals to Other Worlds. Keep your sanity and stamina values just enough to not die on failure, which will not happen, if you have enough clues.

If you're down to 3 supplies and it's far from the final battle, click the search button to try your luck and restock supplies.

3. As you get close to 10 Elder Signs, the wolf packs start appearing, which means monster spawn every midnight in a geometric progression until the monster limit of 14.

If you are 1-3 Elder Signs from the goal, just ignore the first wolf and get the remaining Elder Signs. Usually, Other World spawning helps to bypass the wolf problem.

If it is not possible, as too many monsters or glyph locks are in your way, just go for the last straw and remove those obstacles before the next midnight (often requires 2 attempts, as there just aren't that much glyphs at your disposal). Remember, midnight is every 4 turns.

NB! Remember to have atleast 10 clues +/- other convertible items at your disposal, before getting that last Elder Sign.

4. Finally, the last battle. Ithaqua himself is a relatively easy boss (compared to Dark Pharaoh, for example), if you have enough clues. There will be a lot of perils.

Here's what I had at my disposal before entering the final battle.

At the beginning of the second round.

And finally, just 1 or 2 clues left before the final blow.

Alternative characters
So, as you see, Ithaqua campaign is about supplies, items and timing.

Other useful characters for this campaign are:

1. Michael McGlen – can turn terror into peril once per conjure and has stamina value of 7. There are a lot of monsters in this campaign and a lot of perils required.

2. Michael McGlen + Jenny Barnes

3. Amanda Sharpe – stamina/sanity value of 5/5 and ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

But I still think that Jenny Barnes is a better option, because you need all 8 glyphs in most of the missions and with other characters you'll be wasting time on buying unique and common items for that purpose.
