Midnight Ghost Hunt, I can confidently say, has one of the highest skill gaps of any game I've ever played, and there is a lot to know if you want to do well. I want to start off and say, that this game is difficult to learn, and harder to master. It will take hours to get familiar with the maps, and gameplay mechanics. This guide serves as a way for you to get started without getting destroyed online because you have no clue about whats going on or how to play.

1. Overview of the Game
Basic Overview:
Midnight Ghost Hunt is a 4v4 prop hunt hide and seek game. You will be playing either as a Hunter, or a Ghost. It is the Hunters' job to find and eliminate every ghost on the map using weapons, gadgets, and perks that augment your stats. Each team will have time to prepare themselves for whats to come. Ghosts can set traps and find hiding places while hunters travel to the location in a van. As a ghost, you will possess ordinary looking objects, such as chairs, lamps, gravestones, and even psychopathic murder dolls to blend in and survive until the clock strikes zero. Hunters have 5 minutes to locate and kill every ghost before the clock strikes zero.

Before match: Hunters travel to the location in a van, and are given time to choose their loadouts. Ghosts are given time to pick their abilities, set traps, and hide before the hunters arrive
Pre-Midnight: Hunters have the advantage, and use their weapons and gadgets to locate and kill ghosts before midnight strikes.
Midnight: Ghosts come back to life, and take revenge on the hunters

Win Conditions:
Hunter:
- Killing all ghosts before midnight
- Killing all ghosts after midnight
- Surviving midnight without killing the ghosts (surviving till the timer runs out after midnight starts)
Ghost:
- Killing all hunters before midnight
- Killing all hunters during midnight

Midnight:
When the timer ends, if not all ghosts had been eliminated beforehand, they return as vengeful spirits, enraged and more powerful than ever. The tables turn, and the Hunters become the hunted. Midnight ends either when the ghosts have killed all the hunters, the hunters kill all ghosts, or when the midnight timer runs out. It will take a skilled and coordinated team of hunters to survive.

Progression System:
When the game ends, you will be rewarded either 500 xp for winning, or 250 xp for losing. Your kills, revives, consumes, and assists all gain you additional xp. As you gain xp, your bar below your profile picture after every round will slowly fill up. When it fills up, you level up to the next level. Each rank functions in 3 tiers, with each tier requiring 25 level ups to get to the next tier. This will be notated with, for example, "Professional Hunter Tier III". There are 8 ranks in total. Apprentice, Professional, Expert, Ace, Elite, Master, Grandmaster, and Legendary. You will need to complete all 3 tiers for each rank before going to the next one. (ex: You need to level up from Apprentice Hunter Tier I to Tier II to Tier III and then to Professional Hunter Tier I. Note that at Legendary rank, there are no more "tiers", and you just level up until Legendary Hunter 449.) Additionally, ghost shards will be rewarded 1/2 of your xp count. For example, if I earn 500 xp total for winning a match, I will be given 250 ghost shards. Ghost shards are used to buy skins, equipment & abilities, taunts, emotes, victory poses, and titles. You can complete challenges that appear in the top left of your screen as you play that will reward you extra ghost shards.

2. How to Play as A Hunter
How to Play:
As a hunter, your goal is to find and hunt all ghosts. You have a wide array of weapons, gadgets, and perks at your disposal. I will go over every weapon, gadget, and some perks to help you dominate. Afterward, I will rank all items based on effectiveness.

Weapons:
Spectral Cannon: This weapon is a 5-shot burst weapon that works well from short-medium range. It does decent damage, and does minor splash damage. I'd say that this is a great all-rounder weapon that can deal with most situations effectively. It is really good with the "Extended Mag" perk.

Salt Shotgun: Absolutely busted weapon. With only 2 shots, your damage scales based on how close you are to the enemy. While it may not have very good range, it absolutely shreds up close. This is my personal weapon of choice, but does take some skill to make good use out of it. Good with the "Lightweight" perk.

Ghostsmasher: A powerful melee weapon that does 52 damage to ghost form, and 26 damage to props. It also comes with a little shield that works on a cooldown system. By holding down right click, you hold up the shield. You will notice a battery on the back side of the shield. When the shield takes damage, the battery level goes down. If the shield takes too much damage, your shield will overheat and take 5 seconds to recharge. It is really good with the "Healing Aura" perk.

Sledgehammer: Easily the most broken weapon in the game. While it has really short range, a fully charged hammer swing will one shot basically any possessed prop in the game. It does terrible damage in ghost form however. Good with the "Overkill" perk, so you can hold another weapon to finish off ghosts after smashing them out of their props.

Project X: A minigun that rapidly fires projectiles. It does not run on ammo, but like plasma weapons from Halo. If you fire for too long, the gun will overheat and take around 7 seconds to cool down and use again. However, while shooting, you are slowed down dramatically. Good with the "Juggernaut" perk.

Frostbite: Shoots out ice pellets that drastically slow down enemies the more pellets hit them. Good with the "Extended Mag" perk.

Harpoon Bazooka: Shoots out a harpoon that snags onto ghosts and prevents them from escaping. Does weak damage, and brings the ghost towards you, letting it attack you from up close. This is best paired with the "Healing Aura" perk.

Reaper: A 5 shot sniper rifle that shoots out explosive darts. It has a scope that lets you zoom in. When you tag an enemy, it does an initial damage of 16, two ticks for 4 damage, and then a final explosion of 40 damage. This weapon is extremely good for open maps, and ghost form. Note that if a ghost has the "Blast Resistant" perk equipped, the dart explosion damage is reduced by 75%. Best with the "Quick Reload" perk. A ghost can time their exit out of the prop to avoid the explosion.

Riot Shield: A huge shield that can soak up a lot of damage. It does ok damage, and is usually used during midnight to hide and protect yourself from damage. Best paired with the "Coldblooded" perk.

Flamethrower: An acidic weapon that shoots out flames that does damage over time. It is amazing for crowd control, but slows you down while you use it. Additionally, the ghost can avoid the burn damage by swapping to another prop.

Tier List:
S:
- Sledgehammer
- Salt Shotgun
- Reaper
A:
- Ghostsmasher
- Spectral Cannon
B:
- Flamethrower
-Frostbite
- Project X
C:
- Riot Shield
- Harpoon Bazooka

Gadgets:
Gadgets are tools that you can use to help you win. There are 3 types of gadgets.
1. Detection
2. Support
3. Movement

Detection: These tools include the Radar, Spectrophone, Pathfinder, and Camcorder. When ghosts hide and stay still, they emit something called "ectoplasm". Your detection devices pick up on this emission, and show signals when they detect it. The Radar functions as an area based detection tool. While it can't pinpoint exact ghost locations, the closer you are to the ghosts' location, the higher the signal is. The Spectrophone is the opposite. Instead of detecting in an area, it emits a "sound tube" that picks up ghost signals only when your cursor is directly on a ghost. This pinpoints ghost locations. The pathfinder is a little TV that when looked through can see "ghost trails". When ghosts move, they leave trails behind that the pathfinder can see. The lower the ectoplasm level of the ghosts, the harder it is for your gadgets to detect them. The camcorder is an item that when placed, creates a pinkish tube that sets off an alarm when a ghost walks through it. The ghost will be ping'd and you can see its location for 10 seconds. Ectoplasm has no effect on the Camcorder.

Support: These gadgets help support your team. These include the Medic Kit, Defibrillator, C4, Trap, Grenade, and Vacuum. The medic kit can heal you, or your teamate's health by 40 points per bandage. You get a maximum of 3 bandages per kit, and they can be refilled by stopping at the generator. They cannot be used to revive your teamates. A lot of people get confused about that. Defibrillator is a tool that when hovering your cursor over your dead teamate while standing next to it, you press left click and it will revive them. It takes a couple seconds, and if you stray from the body, the revive process will be cancelled. The C4 is an explosive that can be placed with left click, and detonated with right click remotely. It is a stationary explosive, and damage scales depending on how close the ghost is to the center of the blast. The Trap item is placed down with left click, and when a ghost walks over it, they are taken out of their prop, and immobilized. They can break the trap with a charged slingshot, Miasma, or with their fists. It does 1 damage per tick over time. It is best used during Midnight. Grenade is a smaller-scale explosive that can be thrown and stuck onto ghosts. You can also "cook" the grenade to time the explosion. The Vacuum can be used to suck up ghost shards that ghosts leave behind when they die. This prevents their teamates from reviving them. Note that if you are killed, the ghost shards will be dropped, and the ghosts' teamates will have the ability to revive them again.
Movement: I believe that the Grappling Hook is the only item that aids with movement. It does exactly what it sounds like.

Perks:
Perks are bonuses that augment your stats. You can only have one equipped at a time.

Lightweight: Increases your base movement speed. My personal favorite, and one I recommend if you want to keep up with ghosts, or run away effectively from them during Midnight.

Healing Aura: Heals you 2 health per second-ish. It creates a green ring around you, and anyone inside that ring is also healed. This buff doesn't stack.

Juggernaut: Increases your base health to 200, decreases stun taken from blows, with the caveat of removing your ability to sprint.

Coolblooded: Makes yourself unable to be seen through walls during midnight, or from the ghost perk "Perception". Is especially usefull for hiding during Midnight. However, this perk lowers your base sprint speed, and lowers your health to 70.

Quick Reload: Speeds up reload times for weapons with ammo, and decreases cooldown time on Project X and Harpoon Bazooka. It does nothing for melee weapons.

Extended Mag: Increases the base ammo count for weapons with ammo. Does nothing for Project X, Harpoon Bazooka, and all melee weapons.

Extra Gear: Increases the base gear count for grenades, C4, traps, and Medic Kits. (ex: raising normal grenade count from 2 to 3.)

Gadgeteer: Never use this perk. Ever.

Overkill: Lets you hold 2 weapons at once at the sacrifice of your first gadget slot.

Berserk: When below 50 health, your damage and speed with get a slight buff. However, in my experience, the buffs are negligible.

Farsight: Useless perk. It allows you to see corrupted and poltergeisted props through walls. However, both have super loud audio cues. It lowers health to 80.
3. How To Play as A Ghost
As a Ghost, your goal is to survive until midnight. You do this by possessing props with left-click. I will be going over everything that ghosts can do, because a lot of people find ghosts to be very weak. However, this is simply because they don't know how to utilize the Ghost faction's strengths.

Ghost Form: This is your basic form outside a prop. Your ghost form can go through doors, and can pass through props. However, this form is very vulnerable to hunter weapons, and it doesn't take much for a hunter to kill you. With right-click you can "punch" hunters, each punch dealing 19 damage each. If a hunter is chasing you, I do not advise staying in ghost form, as hunters can easily catch up and kill you. Instead, if you are broken out of a prop, or in ghost form, find a prop to possess as quickly as you can. Props can give you more health, or make you smaller so you're harder to catch.

Prop-Form: When pressing left-click while hovering your reticle over a prop, you possess it. Props come in many different forms. There are heavy props, light props, large props, and small props. Additionally, while possessing these props, you have access to possibly the most broken mechanic in the game. "Slingshoting". When you hold down right click while possessing a prop, you will start charging. You'll notice a line stretching out from your prop. This is a trajectory calculator. You can aim that line where you want to go, and with enough charge, the prop will slingshot towards that destination. You can use this to gain elevation, distance, and even hurt hunters. While aimed at a hunter with a prop charged up, the more you are charged up the more damage you will do. Note that smaller props break if you hit a hunter with them. One thing newer players sleep on is this ability. DO NOT DO THAT!! This ability is seriously, I'm not joking, crazy broken. If you learn how to slingshot effectively, you will already set yourself above most players.

After Death: After the hunters have killed you, you will have the ability to use your "haunts". Haunts are minor abilities that can be used to direct the hunters away from ghosts, slow them down, or aid your teamates. You can be revived after you die, but if your shards are vacuumed up, you cannot be revived until the hunter that vacuumed you has died.

Ectoplasm: When you stand still, you will have a bar on the bottom left corner of your screen that slowly fills up. The more that it is filled, the easier it is for hunters to detect you. Additionally, when you move, you leave behind "ecto-trails". The hunters cannot see it normally, but if a hunter has a Pathfinder, they can find those trails and track them to your location. You can press "V" on your keyboard to "Taunt". This emits a little sound that lowers your ectoplasm buildup by a little bit. However, taunting also emits a little bit of ectoplasm when you do it. In my experience, I find it best not to taunt, as it basically gives away your general location to the hunters. Staying silent and shifting around, avoiding hunters, in my experience, usually is more effective.

Pre-Match: You are given one minute and thirty seconds to get prepared before the hunters arrive. You can select your abilities, haunts, and perks at the "Shrine". The shrine looks like a light-blue alter with candles. During this time, you can use abilities like Poltergeist, Corruption, and Death Grip to set traps for the hunters.

Pre-Midnight: Your only goal is to survive until Midnight. You do this by possessing props, and hiding. Try not to hide in the same spot every time. An experienced player knows all the good hiding spots, so while some spots might be really sneaky, a good player will most likely check those spots if they can't find you. Be careful though, as hiding in plain sight sometimes doesn't work. Hunters at the beginning of the game are prone to shooting every prop they see, so try not to hide right near the hunter spawn. I recommend finding spots with an escape route. If a hunter finds me, I want to be able to easily access a route that lets me escape them. If you hide in a corner, the hunter can run up to you and prevent you from escaping. You can revive teamates by going to their shards, and pressing "E".

Midnight: This is your time for revenge. When midnight strikes, don't be afraid to switch up your loadout to something more suitable for aggression. I personally recommend equipping Deflector and Untrapple. Deflector when activated will block hunter projectiles, and negate Reaper explosion damage. Untrappable will make you resistant to hunter Trap items, and the Frostbite weapon. While it might be tempting to stay out in Ghost Form, I do not recommend this. Hunters can still easily kill you in that form. I recommend possessing a large prop with lots of health. DO NOT BE NEAR HUNTERS WHEN MIDNIGHT STRIKES! I've seen a lot of new players spawn right next to hunters when midnight strikes. This might seem like a good idea at first, but hunters can place a trap right at your spawn, and spawn kill you.

Abilities:

Phantom: Makes you almost nearly invisible. I don't see any use of this ability. Only use it until you find a better ability. Any player with eyes can see you even while you are invisible. Note that having your "Visual Effects" setting less than high makes ghosts appear completely invisible on your end when they use this ability

Spirit: You gain the ability to fly for a short period of time. This process is interrupted if you are hit while flying, and you direct yourself by holding "W" and aiming where you want to go with your mouse.

Doppelganger: My personal favorite ability. You transform into a hunter, letting you go near them if they don't suspect anything. However, I find that this ability doesn't work very well for fooling people, but it does crazy freaking damage. One punch does 49 damage, only taking 3 hits to knock out a hunter. That's the same damage output as your ghost form during midnight.

Deflector: Creates a bubble shield around you that deflects incoming projectiles. It does nothing for melee weapons, and if you create the shield before a grenade is thrown at you, it will deflect it. It will do nothing if you activate it while a grenade has already been stuck to you.

Poltergeist: Force up to 5 props to levitate and shoot towards hunters that come near. The damage done scales with the size of the prop.

Telekinesis: You can force a prop to start charging and slingshot in a direction.

Trickster: ...don't use this one.

Apparition: Creates a ghost form that shoots out from your prop. Only good for trolling newbies.

Death Grip: Creates a little circle underneath you at the spot you activate it at. When hunters walk over it, they will become immobilized. This ability does no damage, and the hunter can do damage to it to destroy it.

Miasma: Easily one of the best abilities. It creates a purple cloud of smog that does damage and slows down hunters that touch it. It can also be used to destroy the hunter generator over time. It can also stack

Corrupter; Corrupts props and makes them explode if hunters damage them or touch them. If the hunters are close when this happens, it will do damage to them. You can also apply this to Poltergeisted props to create mini nukes.

Copycat: Copies the prop you are possessing. Good for if you want to copy your preferred prop a couple times incase it breaks.

Tier List:
S:
- Doppelganger
- Miasma
A:
- Deflector
- Poltergeist
- Spirit
B:
- Death Grip
- Corrupter
- Telekinesis
C:
- Phantom
- Apparition
- Trickster
- Copycat

Haunts:
Haunts are abilities you can use after death. I recommend just sticking with either healing orb or chill

Perks:
I'll be going over perks I think are actually good.

Shatterproof: Prevents your prop from shattering if you slingshot into a wall to hard or you fall from far enough.

Heavyweight: Negates all damage by 30% no matter which form or prop.

Ghostly Focus: Reduces cooldown time for abilities
How to Play as A Ghost (Continued)
Perception: Allows you to see hunters through walls. This is really good if you want to move around while still avoiding them.

Untrappable: Makes you resistant to hunter Trap items and Frostbite.

Quick Charge: Makes your slingshot charge speed time faster. My personal favorite. However, this does make props easier to shatter, so I recommend this perk only after you are good at moving without shattering your props all the time.

4. Settings and Menu Explanation
The menu might seem a little confusing at first, so I'll break it down so that you have an easy time managing it. I will also tell you my settings that I think will optimize your performance.

Home Tab: In the top right you will see your rank and progress for your level. At the bottom, you will see 4 options for play. Quick Play, Server List, Create Match, and Private Bot Match.

1. Quick Play:
- By selecting this, the game will automatically find you a server, and connect you to it. It is not very reliable.
2. Server List:
- By selecting this, it will open up a page of servers. You have dedicated servers by region at the top, and at the bottom, you will find custom servers set up by people. I recommend just joining the one that has the most people currently in it. To the right of the server list, you can select "Filter" to filter the servers that you see.
3. Create Match:
- This lets you create your own server. You can make it private by setting a password, and you also have the option to enable custom game settings.
4. Private Bot Match:
- This when clicked will create a private match with only you and bots.

In the bottom left you will find icons for reporting bugs, viewing the most recent patch notes, and joining the Midnight Ghost Hunt discord. (You should totally join it 👀)

Profile Tab: This lets you view your profile and gameplay stats. By pressing "Progression Tiers" by your profile picture, you can view the ranks in the game, and levels needed until you reach the next tier.

Social Tab: This tab lets you view your friends and recent players. It also lets you invite your friends to your game.

Customize Tab: This tab lets you customize your loadouts, skins, emotes, victory poses, hunter weapon skins, taunts, ghost master (gameboy), boombox cassette tapes, and titles.

Options Tab: Lets you customize your settings and enable cross-play with Epic Games Users. You can still play with people on Epic Games, but you cannot friend them or invite them to your game unless you have this setting enabled.

Tutorial Tab: Lets you access to the tutorials and practice either hunter equipment or ghost abilities.

Recommended Settings:
Gameplay:
Damage Numbers - On
Display Tips - Off (You can have this enabled until you are familiar with the game)
Show FPS - On
Show Tooltip Videos - On
Show Net Stats - Off
Print Logs - On
Show Misc Keybind Hints - Off (Keep on until you're familiar with the controls)
Survey Questions - Opt Out
Profanity Filter - On
Streamer Mode - Off
Anonymous Mode - Off (Unless you don't want people to see your username)
Record Replays - On

Controls:
Mouse sensitivity - Whatever feels comfortable for you. Sniper zoom sensitivity only effects the reaper. I find that setting it near .500 makes unscoped and scoped sensitivity match. Setting it to 1 will not make it one to one for some reason
Key Bindings:
Interact - E
Jump - Space Bar
Primary Fire - Left-click (Hunter weapons)
Alternate Fire - Right Click (Shields and Reaper Scope)
Crouch: Thumb Mouse Button 2 (Not set to Ctrl for movement tech reasons I'll explain)
Ghost Possess - Right click (I attack with left click, so I made slingshot also left click. This is optional, but it makes more sense to me to have both sides attack with left click)
Ghost Attack - Left click
Ghost Special Ability - Left Shift
Return to Ghost Form - F
Reorient Possessed Object - R
Switch to Weapon - 1
Switch to Gadget - 2
Switch to Utility - 3
Reload - R
Toggle Flashlight - T
Emote - V
Sprint - Left Shift
Spray - Z
Ping Location - Left Alt
Open Ghost Master (Gameboy) - G

Video Settings:
Smooth Frame Rate - On
VSync - Off
FOV Hunter - 120 (Max)
FOV Ghost - 120 (Max)
Motion Blur - Zero
Camera Shake - Zero
(I find that Camera Shake and Motion Blur makes it harder to track ghosts and have good aim because your camera is shaking from using your weapons. Motion blur makes it harder to track props.)
Graphics - Everything set to low to optimize performance except for visual effects quality, I have that set as High, but you can do whatever you want with the settings. I will note that if the shadow quality is below high, the shading quality of the maps changes by a lot, but that doesn't bug me very much.

Audio:
Whatever makes you feel comfortable. I personally have Music Volume turned down to 25 because I find it to be kinda annoying and loud at times, but that's a personal preference. Voice chat also is kinda loud, so I set that down to 80.
5. Advanced Movement Tech
As a hunter and ghost, there is something you can do called crouch-jumping. If you sprint, and then stop holding sprint and hold the "crouch" button, you will clamber ledges easier. This helps you gain elevation, and cross huge gaps quickly. This is a vital skill to learn, as you can catch up to ghosts really fast using this tech. I recommend just practicing and experimenting to see what works, and this is why I have crouch set to my side mouse button. It lets me sprint and crouch really easily so that I can crouch-jump really well. I guarantee that if you learn how to crouch-jump, all aspects of pro-play will come easier, and you will be able to catch up to ghosts really quickly. Note that after crouch jumping and clambering a ledge, it will put you in this weird state where your sprint speed is really slow. Just tap sprint again after clambering, and your sprint speed should return back to normal.

Ex:

I want to cross a gap on Mansion at hunter spawn. Instead of going around up the stairs, I can climb onto the banister, sprint+jump, and then right before the ledge, let go of sprint, and hold crouch, and it will allow me to clamber the ledge directly across and above me.
6. Tips and Tricks
- When a hunter is approaching you, if you suspect that they've found you, don't wait. Get out of there, because many of the hunters' weapons will do debilitating damage up close
- Flamethrower does not work through miasma
- Flamethrower cancels frostbite freeze, and frostbite freeze cancels flamethrower burn damage
- Always slingshot when running away, and keep escape routes in mind
- Don't engage multiple ghosts alone. If you are below max health, it is scary easy for ghosts to easily eliminate you if you are wounded
- If somebody is chasing you with Frostbite, be erratic. It's really easy to avoid frostbite if you just move around a lot, and not in a straight line
- Pick the SWAT hunter skin if you want to be a sweat
- Have "Admire the Duck" as your emote for both teams. If you want to... but its the coolest emote just saying...
- It takes 250 kills for hunter weapons to unlock the gold skin, minus the riot shield. It only takes 50.
- If you want to taunt, I recommend picking the owl hooting taunt because it is the quietest
- Cassette tapes will always spawn in pre-determined locations in the map. You cannot pick up a tape you've already picked up. When you are a hunter in the van, your equipped tape will have a chance to play in the background on the van's boombox
- Ghost's tend to move around a lot before the match starts. I recommend grabbing pathfinder as a hunter and doing a quick sweep around the map to locate ectotrails
- Ectoplasm emission lasts for 15 seconds before dissipating. So if you are a ghost, try to find your spot and stay still 15 seconds before the round starts
- Extended Mag + Spectral Cannon will be able to destroy all props with a single magazine
- Traps + C4 during midnight are broken
- If you want to use detection devices while sprinting, repeatedly jumping will keep them in view of your screen. This is especially useful with the radar
- Backing into a corner with only a Riot Shield against 4 ghosts does not end well...
- Ghosts aren't completely defenseless. A good setup and smart plays can easily end hunters
- You can attack the generator as a ghost. It's one of the best plays to hide in a cheeky spot right at hunter spawn, wait about a minute, and then exit out of your prop to attack the generator in your ghost form with your ghost punches. Be prepared to possess your prop again to escape once hunters catch back up to the generator
- Quick tapping "E" at the generator as a hunter will instantly refill all ammo, medic kit bandages, grenade, C4, and trap count
- Don't hold down left click on the flame thrower. It's much more effective to quickly tap it. It lets you move a little bit faster and cover more props.
- Grab the bucket with the ladle in it that spawns on the lamppost near spawn on Graveyard, and go to shrine to copy it with copycat, in case your prop breaks. It is the best prop in the game by far, and since Graveyard is a super open map, with good slingshots, you're basically impossible to catch up to. >:)
- Doppelganger is very good. if a hunter is below 50% health, it is basically a one shot
- Use miasma in corridors or doorways to block of entry
- Use miasma during midnight to destroy traps and C4 placed at the generator
- I recommend always carrying a medic kit with you in case you get injured
- Spirit escapes traps and harpoon
- Ghost Form can go through doors, you can use this to your advantage where when you are being chased, you can close a door, exit your prop, and float through the door, blocking the hunters access. This forces them to open the door again, giving you some more time to escape. It also stops projectiles.
- To tell bots what to equip, type:
/"bot name" equip, "weapon", "gadget", "utility", "perk"
- Don't just stick to one loadout. Be flexible and adapt your loadout to best combat how the hunters or ghosts are playing

Recommended Loadouts:

Hunter:
Spectral Cannon, Radar, Medic Kit, Extended Mag
Salt Shotgun, Pathfinder, Medic Kit, Lightweight
Reaper, Spectrophone, Grappling Hook, Quick Reload
Sledgehammer, Salt Shotgun, Medic Kit, Overkill
Ghostsmasher, Trap, Defibrillator, Healing Aura

Ghost:
Pre-Match: Copycat, Chill, Quick Charge

During Match:
- Doppelganger, Chill, Quick Charge
- Miasma, Chill, Untrappable
- Deflector, Healing Orb, Heavyweight
- Spirit, Chill, Quick Charge

Midnight:
- Deflector, Healing Orb, Untrappable
- Spirit, Healing Orb, Heavyweight
7. Final Remarks
Midnight Ghost Hunt is a daunting game to play. I'm serious, it took me something 200+ hours to learn everything I've told you in this guide JUST from experience alone. There are no good guides online, so a lot of new players often just keep getting destroyed by better players.

There are two types of people who play this game. Newer players who are excited to try it out, and veterans who've been playing since early access every day for 4 years without eating. Obviously there is a HUGE skill gap, and you will often match against very good players unless you're playing privately with your friends. There was a period of time where I sucked, and I was getting destroyed. But over time, I slowly got better, and now I would say that I'm pretty good. Being completely real, most of the skill in this game comes from experience and practice. You're not going to be amazing the first 10 hours in, and people aren't going to go easy on you. But as you learn the maps, get better, and understand the fundamentals of the game, you will improve. This guide simply serves as a way to help close that skill gap between players, and help new and old become better. So as a reward for reading down this far, here's a couple secrets :)

1. When in the hunter van, if you stay in the loadout screen, the timer is still visible. Right when the timer counts from 2 to 1, (so right in betwee) press E to exit the van a second early.
2. When the hunters win, as a hunter, right as the screen starts to turn black, you can spam "E" 2 or 3 times on the generator to put you in a weird state where you can control your character during the victory screen. It creates some pretty funny moments xD

If you take anything away from this guide, just stick with the game. We really need more players, and a lot of people are turned off because of the lack of guides. I promise that with experience, you will get better.

QUICK NOTE: For some reason, playing as a ghost is very ping dependant. If you have bad ping, it will take longer for you to move after possessing props, activating several abilites, and both slingshot and ghost form attacks will have lag depending on the severity of your ping. :C
