Even though you can set up basically everywhere. I personally like to look for somewhat open spots which are not too close to other bases.

Dont worry about foilage or small trees, as this will be removed once you place the construction you are building. Although sometimes this doesnt work the way it should. Best to look for somewhat of a middle ground & not place it in extremely thick jungle.

Something else i always do before i continue, check if you have a radio signal by pressing X.
Although this may not be needed its always good to make sure you do.

Once you found a location to your liking, Bring up your shovel pressing the 7 key.

Press the N key to see which buildables are currently available.

You will notice in the top left it says how many supplies you got available. chances are pretty high you only have enough supplies to build a few sandbags, but not enough for the bigger structures.

Look in the bottom right corner of your screen when you got the shovel equiped.
You should see the option to drop supplies.

When you press the key to drop them, you should now have about 250 supplies available to you.

Now, considering what you want to do here in this area, this may or not be enough. But for this example it wont be as we are looking to establish a proper base.

What you do now is first build a base of command which will use up 200 of your supplies.

Build it and voila, you now have established a HQ. But this is a bit barebones and you now do not have enough supplies to make anything noteworthy.

This is where he radio comes in, if you select it either in the tent or by pressing the X key. You will see on the top right you can change the frequency by pressing either Y or U.

Change frequency untill you get a menu which gives the option to call in supplies.

When you do so, Chinook Helicopter will fly in to drop a care package full of building supplies.

Once you collect those you will see you now have enough supplies to build the real big buildings.

If you run out of supplies, you can call in for more after a few minutes.

So you now have a whole camp to yourself, but it feels kind of.... Lonely.

So lets get some company, this is as easy as going to your Base of command, using the radio and calling in reinforcements.

Again, a Chinook helicopter will fly in but instead of building supplies, its chock full of GI's ready for their tour of duty
