Automated ranch [EN]
By Day_Fanton
In this guide, I present a fully prepared and automated ranch setup.
It includes all slime types that eat only fruits and vegetables. All fruits, vegetables, and chicken types are present too—even if not used in the core automation. I decided not to describe the locations of my teleporters, drills, etc., as I believe these choices should be left up to each player to suit their own preferences.

How I distributed the slimes

1. Every Largo must have a favorite fruit or vegetable. No meat-eaters. Chickens are simply too inefficient and inconvenient to maintain. The Pink Slime must be combined with a fruit- or veggie-loving slime so that it too has a favorite food. Odd Onions should either be avoided altogether or planted in two gardens, since they also grow carrots—effectively halving the yield of the desired crop.
2. “Dangerous” slimes (Boom, Crystal, Quantum, Tangle) should be as isolated as possible. Ideally, combine them to reduce their danger by half. They’re considered dangerous because they can escape, launch plorts, or consume stray plorts outside their corral.
3. Fruit-eating slimes are kept in one area, and vegetable-eating ones in another. This helps automate the ranch even with basic drones—since upgraded ones are harder to obtain early on. This guide is also designed for beginners.
4. Slimes whose plorts are commonly used in the lab are placed close to the Lab.

Important Notes

1.Do not keep more than 8 slimes per corral. No more than 3 Puddle Slimes. Fire Slimes can be added in any number. Set Auto-Feeders to Medium, or High if you have surplus crops or urgently need plorts.
2. Pre-load Auto-Feeders with slimes’ favorite foods to prevent them from rioting while you're managing drones, gardens, etc. This also avoids the common drone error of feeding the wrong food type.
3. All slimes in corrals should have their favorite toys.
4. Placement in the attached image is very important. Try to match my layout exactly. Slimes are spread as far apart as possible to prevent even the slightest chance of a Tarr outbreak. Tangles are entirely isolated, as they’re the most dangerous. Also, there’s a specific spot in the Grotto where you must not place a corral, because due to a game bug, slimes will begin to vanish. I contacted the game’s support, and they confirmed this bug exists but don’t know what causes it. Their advice: don’t use that area.
5. Some structures are just placed for collection purposes. For example, you likely won’t need chickens. Gardens for Pogofruits and Oca Oca are also unnecessary but included for completion.
6. I’m aware of the three additional ranch expansions that unlock over time. I didn’t use them in this setup. First, unlocking them takes a while, and by the time you’ve maxed out everyone’s trust, you likely won’t need them anymore. Second, it’s inconvenient—watering drones becomes even more tedious. Third, I wanted to leave space for your creativity or in case you need them for achievements.
7. Place drones closer to exits to make watering them easier. Collector placement doesn’t matter much—just try to keep them close to drones and to each other.
8. Each area needs both collector types, because depending on your current needs, you may want more money or more resources. Simply switch the drone’s delivery target when needed.
