Defeating Covenant 10 on all clans!
By Sherman Hemper
Hello!

This guide is made solely for anybody who wants to get their achievements for Covenant 10 runs, with a focus on being as straightforward as possible and not having to think too much about pivots or changing up your build. Your main focus will be centered around the melting remnant, who will carry all 10 clans through the runs!

Learning the Melting Remnant

The first thing you are going to want to do is make sure you understand how the Melting Remnant clan works. Your units focus on harvesting each other and the "burnout" mechanic, however your main hero will only be focusing on harvest. (We will still want to be sure to have units that ideally have burnout 1 + endless) Keep in mind that your champion will not matter as much during these runs, as you will be utilizing a handful of the Melting Remnant units, and mixing them with what you find fun/effective among the other clans.

Play through some runs until you understand how the Melting Remnant clans work, as you're going to need to get every clan to level 10 regardless. Once you are ready, you can move onto the next step here where we will talk about your main cards.
What You Can Expect
Your focus is to kill the boss on a single floor. I usually kill them on the first floor as I start my Barons scaling early, but there are plenty of times where you need to wait and buff your Barons up with other stats first, so you can put them on the top floor no problem. It really depends on if you don't get the right buffs early or if the enemy has a sweep that will kill you before you can power up. Below are some images of wins I've had at Covenant 10 with various clans and what you can look forward to numbers wise.

Awoken

Stygian Guard

Lazarus League

Underlegion
The Wickless Baron.
Please keep in mind that I'm assuming you have a basic understanding of how this game works if you are coming to look for guides on how to beat Covenant 10 runs. Again, if you do not understand how things like harvest, extinguish, reform, etc work, you are going to struggle to follow this guide, however I do believe that this can work for most players even if they haven't put a lot of time into this game. I only have around 200 hours total in Monster Train 1 and 2, but there are some players who have put thousands of hours into this game and know the in's and out's of every clan and different ways to win.

That being said, lets get into what your basic strategy is going to be to knock these achievements out!

The Wickless Baron is an uncommon unit within the Melting Remnant Clan. While he starts out with only 5 attack and 15 HP, he harvests +5 for each every time a unit dies on his floor. This means killing enemies, and the deaths of your allies. - You're probably already starting to get some ideas at this point, and the main strategy is very straightforward: Kill as many units as possible with your Wickless Barons out so that they can buff their damage up.

Your main goal is to get 3 or 4 of them on one floor.

There are two ways to do this:

1. Utilize the Heaven's Light "artifact" after you defeat a boss to add two spaces to you floor.

2. Utilize the Smidgestone to reduce your units capacity to 1 slot.
Both work well, and I honestly ended up using both in the same run at times depending on how many units I had available to repeatedly harvest, which we will cover below.

For your upgrade aside from your smidgestone if chosen, you MUST take the Frenzystone upgrade to give your Wickless Baron the ability to multistrike. This is what is going to push you over the edge, and allow your multiple Wickless Baron's the ability to wipe out covenant 10 bosses on floor 1. If you see a chance to take multiple frenzystones, you should absolute do it. Keep in mind that your barons can get up to 400 to 600 damage by the end game, allowing you to do over 1k damage with a single unit. (And you are stacking 3 to 4 of them on a floor)

If you have throwaway gold and just want to buy something, the only other option you could probably take is a speedstone, however I'd recommend saving your gold for the previous two options, as well as upgrading your other cards and thinning your deck out.

Utilizing the Melting Remnant Cards with any clan.
Like I mentioned before, your champions are not really going to matter at all in any of your runs. I've found that the best route you can take is to focus solely on your Wickless Baron - If you put resources into other units, you could end up losing a run by a single hit or two that would have been solved with your resources going towards your units.

Aside from your Wickless Baron, the Wickless Tycoon is another great option to pick up early in your game. A lot of early stages do not require your baron to power up as much, so you can use the Tycoon to kill units and receive gold in return to get your snowball started.

Your second objective as I mentioned before, is to kill as many units as possible. The bulk of this is going to come from your own deck. You need to be harvesting every turn by endgame if you want to have a chance to kill the final boss. These are the cards I favor (in no particular order) that I've found reliable for powering up my baron.

Entombed Explosive

This unit assists in waveclear as well as being a reliable harvest. Add the ENDLESS perk to it and nothing else.

Votivary

This unit is very helpful as it comes with endless and is one hp. It's meant to sit in your front line every round and die - If you can buy Burnout 1 and add it to them, you can ensure multiple units are harvested even if they are not killed.

Remnant Host

This is your preferred unit for sacrificing as it always spawns an extra 2 units, giving your barons 15 Attack and HP per round. Add ENDLESS and BURNOUT 1 to this unit and you're in a great spot.

Dreg

This is a standard unit that is always useful if you have a spot as it's free and will likely always die for a free harvest. Draff operates in the same manner but costs 1 energy.

Best Card Synergies From Clans 1
You've already read through the core of the guide - it really is that simple. It's not a free win every time but I did end up beating all 10 covenants and used the melting remnant as my "secondary" to carry them and can confirm that they are able to carry every clan due to the fact that they work on their own with what I've listed.

There are other cards of course that can also carry efficiently such as Greed Dragon and Hothead, but I've found that the Wickless Baron is a straightforward simple way to get through the covenant stages for your achievements with minimal stress.

Going forward, I'm going to share some of my favorite card pairings and relics from the various clans you'll play these units with.

The Banished - Not many cards here that I care for. Just play your core Melting Remnant cards.

Cursed Twinblade

Very straightforward. An extra hit is always worth the -1 attack as you're building up so much and focusing on multistriking.

Pyreborne -

Greed Dragon

This card acts as another Baron almost, and it's very powerful if you play accordingly. Like I mentioned earlier: Do not focus on your clalns champion. Lord Fenix and Lady Gilda from Pyreborne have passives to generate you golden eggs however, and you can stack them and hold them the entire game (8 base, more can be held with relics) to make your Greed Dragons very powerful. Again I would recommend giving them multistrike perks, and making them a 1 slot unit due to the fact that their base is 3. You can also combine them with the ENDLESS and BURNOUT 1 effect and continue to reform them to give them bonus stats every time if you so choose, which makes for a very easy run! Trying to play for both is a greedy itself however, but you can always gamble it!

Luna Coven -

Ritual Tome

Not a high priority card, but can be helpful if you have the chance to lower its cost and add a spellchain onto it.

Underlegion - By far the most powerful combo here, if not in the entire game. This is an extremely fun pair that I'd recommend you start with as it will allow you to play more freely and understand everything better before moving onto focusing solely on your Melting Remnant cards.

This is the exception for your champion as well - Always take Bolete the Guillotine and level up his harvest perks to make him extremely powerful. You can easily get him to 600 - 800 attack damage, with your Barons doing 400 to 600 as well!

Eager Conscript

This spell is infinitely stackable, and everytime a mushroom dies it proc's on your Baron. You can also use it while your floor is full and they will add onto the spot in front regardless! Make as many mushrooms as possible as they will not only be harvested for your champion and barons, but they will also do a lot of damage and tank as well.

Cluster Colonel

Another very good card for this squad. Much like your baron, you will want to get as much floor space as possible to put multiple colonels down as you can spawn a lot of mushrooms for your tank and harvest stats. You can use a smidgestone on this unit, however don't use multistrike for him as he isn't doing damage. I prefer to put extra health on him to avoid being one shot by sweep units on covenant 10, as well as dying to corruption.

Spawning Pods

A very strong spell that can substitute in if you can't find your Cluster Colonel. Focus on trying to get its cost down, and then adding a holdover or spellchain to it. Be mindful that it starts with consume so you will likely want to upgrade to remove it. Your dream scenario for this is getting uprades on it and then getting the random event to copy it 5 times.

Lazarus League - Another really strong and fun combo with many options for you to choose from. I enjoy adding multiple reanimates and spikes to my front Baron with this clan.

Double Edged Arms

Again - Adding multistrike to your Baron's is the move.

Organ Harvester

Throw this on your Baron(s) and watch the magic happen. Always works well if you've been stacking up a super good mix as well, whether its a green mix with 10+ reanimates, or a high powered rage mix.

Twisted Back

On top of being able to roll through the entire floor once you have your damage stacked, this graft gives you rage with every hit to make you even stronger. Keep putting them on your Barons and you should have an easy game.

Hellhorned - A lot of simple mechanics with this clan such as adding armor to yourself and rage meters for no cost.

Fortify

Free armor. You can add spellchains and get relics that allow you to create ephemerals allowing you to have over 60+ armor per turn for free.

Rage Serum

Same idea - Remove the consume and try to get spellchains or holdovers. This goes for most buffs throughout your game with every clan - Just be advised that you don't want to beef your deck up too much to the point you aren't harvesting your own units. All of these spells are just bonus points unless you are adding hand size to your deck.

Fledgling Imp

Most imps are strong with this comp, but this one is the strongest as you are giving your Barons attack every time. Add an ENDLESS status effect and continue to throw him in your front line as much as possible.

Steelworker

A steelworker with the DUALISM effect can set your Barons up nicely for a late game fight. The longer he survives is obviously great because your Barons then get the opportunity to use their attacks that much more. Remember we're aiming for at least 250 attack minimum, and if the armor saves them even once that's an extra 500 damage per unit.

Awoken - Not the worst clan to have as your partner. You can add damage and health with 0 cost spells, and Wildwood Tome never hurts.

Steel Enhancer

Don't break your deck for this card. It's purely insurance. If you can put a spellchain on it you can add extra punch for your Barons, but I wouldnt suggest copying it to your deck multiple times if it means losing out on your harvests as they give you more anyways.

Wildwood Tome

Another card that feels great once you have your Barons beefed up. Remove the consume and put it on even two and you're going to have no issue.

Best Card Synergies From Clans 2
Stygian Guard - Just pretend they're not there. Remove everything from your deck and harvest your hero.

Umbra - Pretty much exactly what you're thinking: Get your morsels to 0 cost and put them in front of your Barons. Honestly though Umbra has been my favorite clan from both games so I prefer to play Penumbra and make him a 1 shot god.

Furnace Tap

I'd only suggest playing this near the end of the fight so that you aren't missing out on energy that you need to summon harvest units. If you have a way to generate energy then you can go for it, but I've always liked to make this a lower cost and spellchain it if possible, and use them at the end for the boss fight.

Umbra Stone

Another very powerful card especially if you use it on all of your Barons. Your first one or two units will have the waves cleared so your next units can use all of their damage on the boss if they're on the floor for early chip damage.
Picking a Pyre and Relics
As far as I'm concerned, you can of course win with any Pyre or Relic, however there are clearly options that are stronger than others.

My two favorites pyres are Pyre of Savagery and Pyre of Dominion.

The Pyre of Savagery gives your units a permanent +1 attack with each kill they get, while the Pyre of Dominion takes away your starting cards and allows you to choose from 3 options for your own, which unlocks the potential to find your Barons right away as well as any other cards you are searching for. I would highly suggest switching back and forth between the two based on how you are feeling burnout-wise. Switch things up and try new strats if you are struggling because each of these pyres are more than enough to get you through these runs.

I will list Relics below that I find to be genuinely helpful throughout your runs. I'm not going to go too deep into them simply because they're all pretty self-explanatory and more often than not, you don't need to rely on them as heavily as you'd think. Again, this strat is very straightforward and can work without you putting a lot of though into it.

BEST ARTIFACTS

General
- Jackstrips
- Dante's Footstool (Mainly if you have the room that gives you energy when a unit dies)
- Emot Tome
- Guild Marker
- Lightstone Casing
- Pyrestone Housing
- Sinner's Salve
- Vola's Tuning Fork

Banished
- Blood of the Apex (If you have the random event that equips one of your units (Being a baron of course) with a piece of equipment automatically.

Pyreborne
- Expanded Coffers (If you are utilizing Greed Dragons)

Luna Coven
- Nothing really feels good here. Take the other artifact or take some gold.

Underlegion
- Shroomponics
- Spotted Spore
- Twin Minds (If your consume card is a 0 cost)

Lazarus League
- Inga's Beaker
- Progress Pacemaker
- Part Factory (This is more of a 4fun move but it has potential to give you multistrikes)

Hellhorned
- Collection of Tails
- Consumed Crown
- Railhammer (If you have Fortify + Steelworker)
- The Unbroken Horn

Awoken
- Nothing really stands out here. I somehow don't even have the first relic in this clan found and I have all achievements 100 hours in so that tells you how much it doesn't matter.

Stygian Guard
- Sigiled Seaweed (Not as good as it sounds but it's better than the average artifact)

Umbra
- Mine Jacks (This can help out a lot if you play your Baron's on the 2nd floor for your run)

Melting Remnant
- Votive Key (Your best artifact maybe in the entire game for this run. Allows you to choose a free unit to summon endlessly to harvest without having to upgrade it.)

Celestial Alcove Artifacts
- For the most part you can't make too bad of a choice here as something is always helpful. The absolute best unit is Gros Michel since you are not using your champion. After getting it (and then Cavendish respectively) you just have to pray that it doesn't go extinct. Remember that this plays very well with the Pyre of Savagery. Canio is also really nice for econ.

Ending.
That's all I have for now. I've been working on this guide for a few hours now and will likely come back to edit it and am happy to answer any questions people have. Feel free to leave a comment here if you have any questions or if I've explained anything poorly that you don't understand.

This is amazing help. I might be able to get by now.

Do you suggest to take all trials or skip some?

I’m not very good with all the new mechanics of enemies added when covenants increase, and sometimes adding trials destroy me and I’m only on Cov 5
