Mechanics & Details
Dialogue
The encounters are set up so they use dialogue extensively in order to inform the player what is going on and why they are doing something. Keep an eye on what they're saying!

SOS Signal
Encounters will call for friendly reinforcements once they engage in battle. This means that when you decide to attack that one lone, poorly armed freighter, you might suddenly be faced with several nearby patrols bearing down on you.

Area Restriction
Some encounters do not appreciate you getting close - even if you are not currently an enemy. Prepare for warnings and, if ignored, quick reputation loss.

Environment Influence
Encounters are influenced by their environment. Static encounters spawning in grass have the mossy skin applied to parts of them, encounters spawning in snow have the frozen skin applied, etc. They also turn lights on / off depending on the time of day and some even react to weather.

Wrecks
Generally, all large grid encounters also have wrecked / heavily damaged versions that can be found in the world. They are not listed separately in the overview below.

Detection
The manner in which encounters detect the player is the same as the infamous Reaver Mod encounters do - detection is based on line of sight, speed of movement of the target grid, and antenna signal broadcasting.

Hyperdrive Sounds
If you have GFA - Jump to Lightspeed installed, ship encounters spawning in space will play the "arriving from hyperspace" sound as they spawn, and the "jumping to hyperspace" sound as they despawn, giving players a bit more of a heads-up.
