Pretty much every single safe on this map (except for the large safe in the abandoned building) will always have some sort of AI guarding the area, so you'll need some sort of weapon to protect yourself. If you're thinking of doing a raid to only open safes, all you'll need is 3 keys, these being:


You can either find these keys in raid (or from a boss), or buy them off the market, which will cost a pretty penny.
The price for each key on the Clear Market is:
- Quarry General Key -> $4,500 - VLF Tier 3
- Quarry Compact Safe Key -> $45,000 - UICS Tier 3
- Quarry Large Safe Key -> $65,000 - UICS Tier 4

And if you wish to buy them off the Black Market, it will cost:
- Quarry General Key -> 900 Marked Coin OR $9,000
- Quarry Compact Safe Key -> 9,000 Marked Coin OR $90,000
- Quarry Large Safe Key -> 13,000 Marked Coin OR $130,000
*The $ price is if you buy the Marked Coin off of the Clear Market.

First of all, this is probably one of the easiest locations to get to. There will always be a guard with a sniper on the roof of the safe location, including there being the possibility of another guard being on the opposite roof. As well as this, there's typically a group of AI that roams near this location, so be wary of an ambush.

This is another relatively easy location, with there being at least 2 AI guarding this outpost, though there will sometimes be an AI on the roof, so be careful. Other than that this location is relatively safe to loot.

At the VLF Base there is 3 Compact Safes, all in different buildings. This may be the most dangerous location to go to, with there being multiple guards with sniper throughout the compound in towers and on roofs. The best way I've found to enter this base is to take the tower and roof guards out from far away, then push into the base and kill the roaming AI.

This location is what I believe to be the easiest and safes at the VLF Base, with minimal AI protecting it.

This location is close to the 3rd but relatively deep in the VLF Base. Both Location 2 and 3 are more dangerous than Location 1. With tower guards being a threat.

Tucked away in between cargo containers next to the extract point. It's an easy one to miss due to its concealed location. Dangerous to get to due to it being in factory.

This location is by far the safest, I've only encountered one AI looting this building, which I'm 90% sure was due to it seeing me in a different place and chasing me. There are 2 encampments near this location but can be dodged with relative ease.

Factory is also a dangerous location to enter for its safes, with lots of AI patrolling it and a couple snipers on top of the factories roof. There are 2 safes in factory (NOT including the cave), both in different buildings and both guarded by patrolling AI.

Location 1


This location is definitely the easiest of the 2 to access, being on the outer edge of Factory.

For this location you'll need:

Location 2


This location is definitely the harder of the 2 locations to access, being inside the main building and guarded and surrounded by AI.

For this location you'll need:
- A Quarry General Key
- A Quarry Large Safe Key

This location is relatively safe, despite its proximity to Factory. It can be reached through multiple ways as most of this cave is connected, though I mostly enter this location through Factory (see diagram below), there is always at least one AI guarding this cave.

All of this information was created with an AI multiplier of 0.9, so there may be more AI than described in this guide if you have a larger AI multiplier.

The safes in this game are an extremely good source of income, though be wary about the amount of money you pick up from safes, as each 1000 cash weighs 1 kilogram, which can lead to your character being heavily encumbered.

The loot tables seem to be mixed, as I feel that typically, large safes hold more money and have a few more valuable things, though the compacts safes also give you lots of loot with more uses, and I would say you go for compact safes before going for large ones due to the large safe keys higher price.
