You can only change the visual effects settings while you're playing a song. Press the 'Start' button if you're using a controller to open the pause menu, where you'll find this option:

• Normal --> The floor and the notes light up when you hit them correctly
  
• Medium --> Only the notes light up when you hit them correctly
  
• Off --> No light up

You can activate or deactivate this option to see glowing lines coming out of you and moving forward when you hit a note correctly


You can activate or deactivate this option to see glowing lines approaching in sync with the rhythm of the song (like waves)


You can activate or deactivate this option to see the background light up when you hit a note correctly
