Supply Drops are loot containers in Advanced Warfare, similar to Crates to Team Fortress 2 and other games. The loot is considered random, and that is why everybody wants to get them. Each Supply Drop contains different variants of weapons, different types of apparel, and sometimes even reinforcement packages and/or stat boosters.

Since the launch of the game, people have said Supply Drops are random. Acually, the loot is. The drop itself is not random. According to Michael Condrey (Co-Founder of Sledgehammer Games), he has tweeted that Supply Drops are dropped according to ingame time. What does this mean? It means that Supply Drops become enabled from match minutes.

For example, let's say a supply drop is enabled every seven minutes:
Bob joins a game of Teamdeath Match. The game is ten minutes long. The supply will become enabled at three minutes left. Bob does not earn it, unless it is activated by player activities. He dies, and then he sees the pop-up.

What do you learn from that example?
-Supply Drops are earned through a random amount of match minutes. (Seven minutes was just an example).
-Supply Drops are ENABLED by match minutes. To acually earn it, you must capture a flag, kill someone, die, etc.
-The longer the games you play, the better chancer of getting a Supply Drop

I want to note that all the videos and forums you see on the internet are wrong about the tricks of earning Supply Drops. Killing yourself constantly will not change a thing, getting a starting streak will not change anything, etc.
