Tips and tricks
Helpful tips for new players.

  • When you pick up all treats on a level, you can then dig up the mega treat. Digging it up the first time also gives you 10 treats. Digging it up again won't give you another mega treat, but it will still give you 5 treats. So it can still be worth going for it when replaying levels, unless you're trying to be fast.

  • You lose all your treats (money) when you run out of lives. So make sure to always spend your money. If you care about achievements and collections, I recommend always buying figurines as soon as you can afford them (30 treats each). You'll need them all eventually so you might as well start buying them early.

  • You don't lose your pocket item if you run out of lives.

  • There are secret levels you can only unlock by finding the secret hidden in certain levels. Some of the secret levels can be a bit whacky and fun, so I recommend unlocking them.

  • A level will tell you if there's a secret to be found when you've done all other objectives. A question mark will then show up on the sign prompt. You know when you've fully completed a level when there's a blue balloon with a diamond above the level's signpost.
For example, there's a secret on this level:

  • The bonus levels where you play as the dog are a great source of treats, giving you 2 treats per toy collected. However, they usually only reward you treats the first time you complete it, but sometime later the level can be replayed and you can earn treats again from it. You can tell when it's ready to be replayed when it has red paw print particles coming out of the sign.

  • You can only hold one pocket item at a time. That means you can't stack 2 hammers, or have a hammer plus a compass. If you buy a pocket item while you already have one, the previous one will be destroyed and you won't get a refund.

  • Sometimes treats, lives and even freezepheres will be hidden in dirt blocks. Unlike secrets and mega treats, these are random. You also get a treat or rarely a life token whenever defeating an enemy.

  • The crowbar hits behind you as well, so as long as you spam it you're pretty much safe unless an enemy falls on you.
Achievements (unmissable)
As long as you win all the levels, you should get all these achievements. They don't require any secret or bonus levels, or anything you need to go out of your way to achieve.

Exactly As You Do!
  • Complete the first three tutorial levels.
Unmissable when playing the game.

That's Okay, Take Your Time!
  • Finish the final Park level.
Simply play through the 1st world until the end. Bonus levels not required.

Guess It's Time to Take It Up a Notch!
  • Finish the final Junkyard level.
Just play through all the levels normally in the 2nd world.

The Stench of Discovery!
  • Finish the final Sewer level.
Just play through all the levels normally in the 3rd world.

A Bit More Complicated Than That!
  • Finish the final Abandoned Factory level.
Just play through all the levels normally in the 4th world.

Destroyer of Evil!
  • Defeat Joseph Muell and finish the final Operations Hive level.
Just play through all the levels normally in the 5th world.. It's a boss fight. You defeat it by pushing minecarts into it, then freeze it, and repeat a few times.

The Sky Had a Baby!
  • Build a Ladder higher than nine tiles.
The world 3 level "Bringing it Around Again" requires you to build 2 ladders that are 9 tiles high.

Scissors Beat Paper!
  • Stop a fall through Bad Ground using Scaffolding.
The level "A Whole Lotta Trouble..." in world 4 has a lot of Bad Ground blocks and a Scaffolding powerup. Walking over Bad Ground with Scaffolding is required to win the level. You can also get the achievement in the world 4 level "But Wait, There's More!"
Achievements (shop)
These achievements you get buy buying things from the shop.

That'll Be Twenty-Five Cents, Please!
  • Buy something from Pedro's Shop.
After a few levels, a shop will become available. Simply buy anything.

This One's On the House!
  • Get a free item from Pedro's Shop.
Sometimes when buying an item from the shop, you'll get it for free. It seems to happen every few items.

Open Sesame!
  • Open a Lock with a Key purchased from Pedro's Shop.
The second world's shop sells keys. The 1st world's levels "Skeleton Keys" and "Dig for It" are good levels to use a key on.

I'll Take It Easy When I'm Dead!
  • Hold ten Extra Lives at once.
Technically possible without the shop, but the easiest way is to keep buying the double life for 100 treats and/or life for 60 treats until you have 10 lives. Refer to the treat farming section to quickly get enough treats.

You Got Your Toothpaste in My Peanut Butter!
  • Use an Inverter to cause a Boggie to rescue itself.
Buy the inverter from shop 3. Go to world 1 level "DIY" and build the ladder next to the hammer and defeat the moleman, then stand next to (but don't touch) the boggie below the Borf goal. Activate the inverter and then dig under the Borf goal to make the boggie go into it.

Howl with Me!
  • Summon Spooky with a Curse purchased from Pedro's Shop.
The curse powerup (powerdown?) turns all enemies into Spookys which are the trickiest enemies in the game. I'm not sure what the point of buying the Curse is, other than the achievement. But it's available from the shop on the 4th world for 200 treats. Use it on a level with enemies, such as "Molemen Afoot" in world 1.

Figurine Achievements

Each shop has 2 sets of figurines, with 4 figurines per set, which is 8 different figurines per shop. Buying a figurine gives you a random one from the 8 possible, and you can get duplicates which basically wastes your money and gives you nothing :P It's basically gambling. Just buy enough and you'll eventually get them all, and once you've got all the figurines possible from a particular shop, it will go out of stock, so you can't accidentally buy more than necessary.

My advice when playing the game is to always buy figurines as soon as you can afford them, because if you run out of lives your treats (money) gets reset to 0. If you've beaten all the levels and challenges, and you still have figurines left to buy, you will need to grind already-beaten levels to get more treats. See my treat farming section for the fastest way to do that.

Gimme That Shovel!
  • Collect all of the Considerable Grandfather figurines.

He Likes Your Wooden Spoon!
  • Collect all of the Mean Boggie figurines.

What'll It Be, Fellas?
  • Collect all of the Ketchup Grandfather figurines.

Specter Deflector!
  • Collect all of the Spooky figurines.

That's No Pet!
  • Collect all of the Rat figurines.

We Have Technology!
  • Collect all of the Mecha Bee figurines.

Pour on the Charm!
  • Collect all of the Boggie figurines.

Does This Look Unsure to You?
Collect all of the Moleman figurines.
Achievements (miscellaneous)
Who's a Good Boy?
  • Block a Jumping Boggie from relocating without using a Freezphere.
I got this just by playing. I'm not sure exactly how. 🛠️under construction🛠️

Fly of Despair!
  • Trap an enemy in a hole right after they reappear.
The first and easiest level to do this on is "Greetings from Molekind" in the 1st world. Build the first ladder and defeat the moleman, then immediately backtrack to the start. The moleman will spawn directly to the left of the leftmost sign. As soon as the smoke particles start appearing, dig a hole directly left of the sign.

There's No Place Like Home!
  • Rescue all Boggies at once on a level proposing a "Rescue Party" challenge.
This is an optional challenge on some levels that requires you to rescue all boggies at the same time, meaning they all must enter the Borf goal together. So make sure no straggler gets lost and accidentally pathfinds into the Borf goal. The first and easiest level to do this on is the 4th level in the 1st world "Today Is a New Day"

He's Just Standing There... Menacingly!
  • Confuse a Ketchup Grandfather and then force him into a hole.
Ketchup Grandfathers either imitate you, or imitate you in reverse. If you're not moving, they pathfind to you. If there's only one path to you, and you dig a hole between you and it, it will not walk into the hole like other enemies, it will wait until the hole fills. However, if you move, you force it to imitate you so you can make it go in the hole.

Do It Again, I Wasn't Looking!
  • Trick an enemy into falling out of the map.
You'll most likely already have this achievement just by playing, but in case you don't, go to the level "Big Hole" in the 1st world. Hang on the monkey bars there and wait for the moleman to fall off the map trying to reach you. Silly mole.

Anything Is Possible!
  • Use a pair of Cleats to move carefully on a frozen enemy.
Either go to a level that features both Cleats and a Freezesphere, or one of them and buy the other. Make sure you freeze an enemy in a position where you can fall onto it or walk onto it. While it's frozen, simply walk on it. 🛠️under construction, what's the best level?🛠️

Who Are You People?!
  • Dig out a Spawner before it spawns any enemies.
Quickly rush to a Spawner at the start of level and dig it before it can spawn an enemy. The first and easiest level to do this on is "Getting to the Root" in the 2nd world. Quickly rush to one of the spawners at the top of the level and dig it.

Firmly Grasp It!
  • Defeat two different types of enemies with one Crowbar swing.
The easiest level to do this on is the 4th world level "Split". A mean boggie will end up at the bottom, and that's where molemen respawn, making it a good place to knock out the 2 different enemy types in one swing.

Don't Do the Crime If You Can't Do the Time!
  • Trap seven enemies in cages in a single level.
There's a level with mouse spawners and 7 cages. Build all the cages and trap enemies in them all. 🛠️under construction🛠️

How Tough Are Ya?
  • Cause Spooky to slide by stunning him on some ice.
Hit Spooky with a crowbar while on ice. I did this on the secret level Ice Highway in the 3rd world. Rescue all the boggies then quickly activate a freezphere, get the crowbar and go to the bottom icy bit of the level. It works best if you're sliding towards the Spooky and then hit it just before you collide.

I Told You He Was Onto Us!
  • Avoid all enemy alerts in a level proposing a "Did You Hear That?" challenge.
This optional challenge requires you to not alert an enemy. I'm not sure of the exact mechanics, but an enemy seems to get alerted when it's close enough to the player. Make sure to keep a distance to the enemy. You'll know it's alerted when it makes a noise and an exclamation mark appears above it. The first level you can get this is "Molemen Afoot" in the 1st world, but the easiest level is the 3rd world level "Uneasy Unlookers" because you can just freeze the Spookys and quickly reach the exit before they unfreeze.

Just Hangin' Around!
  • Save yourself from falling into Muck by grabbing onto Bars.
On a level where there's bars just above muck, fall onto the bars, and your character will automatically grab them. The first level you can do this on is "Murky Endeavors" in the 2nd world. Dig a hole above the bars, and fall onto them.

It Was Him, He Did It!
  • Distract an enemy with a Decoy.
The first and easiest level to do this on is "My Latest Technological Achievement!" in the 4th world. Build the decoy, and then once you've rescued all the boggies, the spooky will attack the decoy and destroy it, giving you the achievement.

Push It Somewhere Else!
  • Defeat five enemies with a single Minecart push.
The easiest level to do this one is the 5th world level "Meat Grinder". Pick up the Freezphere then quickly get the rightmost fireworks to kill all enemies, so all the molemen will respawn together in a group, conveniently where a minecart is. Push the minecart to the right side. Luckily the mecha bees won't reach you here. The molemen will spawn to the left, so then just push the minecart into all 5 molemen and you'll get a strike.

Bring That Ladder Back This Instant!
  • Swing off of a Flicker Ladder just before it times out.
The first level containing flicker ladders is the first level of the 4th world "Timing Is Everything". The timing has to be just before the ladder starts disappearing, not just before it's fully disappeared. The ladder disappears segment-by-segment from bottom to top, and you have to swing off just before the first segment disappears. I got the achievement from swinging off the bottom segment, but that might not be required.

Tip Top Shape!
  • Beat the Par Time of a level by 30 or more seconds.
The easiest level to do this on is "My Latest Technological Achievement!" in the 4th world. The par time is 2m20s but my record is 59 seconds which is 81 seconds difference, so there's plenty of leeway there lol.

They're Bombs!
  • Defeat an enemy by dropping an Apple Pie on them.
The easiest level to do this on is the 5th world level "Apple Filling"
There's an apple pie bomb on a dirt block right above the Borf goal, and a mean boggie you can drop it on. It can be tricky getting the timing right but it's quick to reset and try again.

I'm So Cold That I'm Shivering!
  • Stack 30 or more seconds of Freezphere time.
Go to the level "Freeze Frame" in the 1st world. Build the 2 ladders, then quickly collect all 4 Freezpheres and you should get the achievement.

Our Hands Are Clean!
  • Achieve 100% completion in a single save slot.
100% completion requires you beat every level, get every mega treat (there's at least 107) get every secret, every cassette/photo (27/27), every achievement (48/48), do every secret level, and beat every optional challenge on every level until everything is all blue diamond balloons. When a world is fully completed, it will get a small green tick on its icon at the bottom of the screen. I am at 98% completion and missing a tick on the 1st, 4th and 5th world. I can't complete the 5th world level "Butterfingers" as I can't find the life token. The 1st and 4th world I don't even know what I'm missing; all level that I can see are fully completed. They must be very elusive :O
Achievements (secrets)
Put Your Toys Away!
  • Gather 70 Treats worth of Toys on a bonus level.
There's usually 2 bonus levels per world where you get to play as a boggie collecting all the toys. Each toy is worth 2 treats, so you just need to play a bonus level that has at least 35 toys. There's only 1 bonus level that has enough toys, "So Long and Thanks for All the Toys" in the 5th world which is 39 toys (78 treats). It's the final bonus level.

X Marks the Spot!
  • Dig up a buired Collectable.
Find a secret by digging up the dirt block that it's in. There's no indication where it is without the compass powerup. But if you complete all objectives on a level, it will tell you if that level contains a secret. Refer to the secrets section of the guide for secret locations. The first level you can get this is "You Put the Key in the Lock" in the 1st world.

Let's Go Get That Treasure!
  • Mine out a Mega Treat from some rock with a Pickaxe.
Same as the previous achievement, but for a secret hidden in rock. The first level you can get this is "Fear the Lightning" in the 2nd world, but you'll need the shop from the 5th world.

Yeah, E Minor!
  • Override a map's music selection with a Cassette.
Some secrets you find are music cassettes. If you've got one, press escape in the level select, go to your scrapbook, collectibles, and scroll to an audio cassete and then play it with spacebar. The first level you can get a cassette from is "You Put the Key in the Lock" in the 1st world.

Each Work of Art Is Like a Child...
Rescue all Boggies on the "Those Were the Days" secret level. The secret level is on the 5th world, 4 blocks above and one to the right of the shop. It's unlocked by finding the secret in "Conditional Roof Access"

Advanced Darkness...
  • Complete the "Watch Your Step" challenge on the "Snapshots" level by not falling.
This level is part of the bonus cloud world that you unlock with 100 Mega Treats. The challenge can be completed without buying any items. Use the compass in the level to locate the hidden Freezesphere, and dig it out (but don't fall down the hole) and collect the invisible Boggies on the ice platform with the mean boggie while it's frozen. Make sure to watch out for holes made by lightning. It's not too difficult.

Fluffy Pillows of Excitement!
  • Finish the final Cloud level and earn your invitation.
Win all 4 levels in the cloud world.
Secrets
Location for all the secrets. Finding secrets requires either buying a compass from World 3's shop, or digging every dirt block until you finally find it. Some secrets are in rock which require a pickaxe which you may have to buy from World 4's shop. Sometimes other items are required to reach the secret. I've taken a screenshot while using the compass to show the secret in every level. The secret shows up as a blue question mark. Each secret also unlocks a secret level.

Super Fast Treat Farming Guide
Near the top of the 4th world's level select screen is a secret bonus level called Five Boggies at the Factory (a reference to Five Nights at Freddies. Luckily the level has no jumpscare.

This level is perfect for treat farming because it can be easily completed in under 5 seconds (I can consistently do it in 3-4 seconds, but my record is 2!) and you get 11 treats each time. To do it fast and efficiently, spam space bar, and then the left arrow key when you've picked up everything in the screen (which will be between 0-3 space bar presses).

Since it's a secret level, you need to unlock it by finding the secret in a nearby level. The specific level is called "Tunneling Break!"
Here's the location of the secret level:
Tricky Challenges (worlds 1-3)
Some levels have particularly tricky challenges.
I will list all the levels where it's required to buy an item to complete the challenge, and give tips on some of the trickiest level challenges.

1st World

Missing- Reward If Found
Challenge: Watch your step
Item required: Scaffolding from shop 4
Simple enough, just walk over the gaps to the boggies.

Handyman
Challenge: Professional use
Item required: Hammer from shop 1
Build the very first ladder you fall onto, and you won't need the ladder in the level.

Greetings from Molekind
Challenge: Pacifist
Item required: Freezphere from shop 1
Make sure you have at least 1 life. Go about the level normally. Build the first ladder, go back to the hammer and then when the mole is in your way, activate the freezphere and continue on to build second ladder. Then when you've rescued all the boggies, the safest thing to do is just let yourself get killed—if you dig a role you risk defeating an enemy. You will conveniently respawn right next to the exit.

Skeleton Keys
Challenge: Palette Cleanser
Item required: Key from shop 2
Use your store-bought key on the bottom left lock, then you'll have access to both keys on the level so you can alternate between them.

Edge Cases
Challenge: Stay Right There
Item required: Freezphere from shop 1
Use the Freezphere straight away, and collect the 4 topmost boggies first.

Dig for It
Challenge: Professional Use
Item required: Key from shop 2
The top right lock needs to be opened. You can use your key straight away, but maybe leave it for last in case you mess up and need to restart the level.

Mr. Crowbar.
Challenge: Professional Use
Item required: None
Crowbar from shop 1 will make it easier, but it's possible to defeat all the molemen by digging. Just don't get the Freezphere; it will force you to pick up the crowbar too.

2nd World

Taking in the Sights
Challenge: Stay Right There
Item required: Freezphere from shop 1
Use the Freezphere straight away, and collect the 4 jumping boggies before the freeze runs out. Tip: Jumping boggies are slightly paler than normal. You can also restart a few times first to familiarise yourself with their locations.

Boggies in a Tree
Challenge: Pacifist
Item required: None
Quickly destroy the rat spawner before it spawns any rats; that won't count as defeating an enemy.

Fortress
Challenge: If You Love Something
Item required: Pickaxe from shop 5
You'll need to pickaxe the stone block on the top platform separating the 2 mean boggies to give you enough room the get the top left boggie.

One Man's Trash Is Another Man's Trash
Challenge: Permit Required
Item required: None
This one is pretty bad. To get the top left boggie, you'll need to wait for lightning RNG to knock it down, or collect the boggie and then wait for lightning to break a dirt block that will let you fall down. I can't think of any pocket items that would help here. This one's just a waiting game.

3rd World

Slippery Cliffs
Challenge: Shiny Shiny
Item required: None
The start is a bit tricky. You need to immediately grab the hammer, build the ladder to the right, then pick up the hammer again before the moleman falls on you. Then you can go up the ladder you built and build the cage there to trap a moleman, and dig a hole under the cage to defeat the other. Then build the ladder to the left, and build the cage there and trap the 2nd moleman. Then the rest of the level is just trying not to slip off cliffs. You could buy Cleats to make it easier.

Warrior of the Ceiling
Challenge: Professional Use
Item required: None
It's tricky to explain so I made a video tutorial:
Just make sure when inverting gravity that the left mean boggie ends up in the top left spot.

So Below
Challenge: Winning the level lol
Item required: None
Simply winning the level is unreasonably difficult so here's a guide:
Tricky Challenges (worlds 4-6)
4th World

Center Stage
Challenge: Shiny Shiny
Item required: Scaffolding from shop 4
To reach the boggie next to the freezphere without picking up the freezphere, you will need scaffolding to reach from the right side. An inverter could also work.

A Cold Heart
Challenge: Did you hear that?
Item required: Freezphere from shop 1
As soon as the Spooky appears, activate the Freezphere. Then quickly finish the level as normal. The Spooky will be left behind and won't know what to do.

A Whole Lotta Trouble...
Challenge: Watch Your Step
Item required: Scaffolding from shop 4
You need to use your scaffolding straight away at the start of the level so you can reach the scaffolding already in the level without falling. Then just do the level normally but me mindful about the scaffolding duration so you don't fall. And make sure to not go down the scaffolding platforms, as that counts as falling. Sounds obvious, but I made that mistake :P

5th World

Building & Entering
Challenge: If You Love Something
Item required: None
It's possible but difficult without an item. The important thing is to do the bottom section first before the bees can reach you. And don't build the leftmost and rightmost ladders as that causes the bees to come down. If you're struggling, I would recommend buying something like a freezphere.
Walkthrough without items:
Walkthrough with freezphere:

Conditional Roof Access
Challenge: Permit Required
Item required: Scaffolding from shop 4
The boggie sitting on rock next to where you spawn needs scaffolding to reach. You could also use an inverter. If you're very lucky, lightning might strike the dirt block above it technically making it possible to do without any shop items, if you're willing to wait a while (it took me 10 minutes of waiting, partly because a rat filled in the hole the first time).

Meat Grinder
Challenge: Permit Required
Item required: Scaffolding from shop 4
There's 2 boggies that you need to collect with the scaffolding, and they're both on opposite sides of the level. Collecting a freezphere won't override the current tool, but picking up the crowbar will so avoid it when you're using scaffolding. Make sure to clear out all the apple pie mines, and that you've collected and rescued all the other boggies except for 3: the 2 ones we need scaffolding for and 1 upsidedown one that's above the freezphere on the right side. Start from the right side first, collect the upsidedown boggie above the freezephere, then as you're falling down activate scaffalding, continue down to the freezphere, pick up the boggie, then go to the trampoline (remember not to dig) that will take you to the left side and quickly get the left boggie. Collect them quickly because the exit portal will need scaffolding to reach it too so be fast. It spawns here:

Is It A Bird?
Challenge: Did You Hear That?
Item required: None.
Requires some digging. 🛠️under construction🛠️

Cloud World

Time limit: 50 seconds
An easy way to do this is buy scaffolding and use it as soon as the level starts, stopping you from hitting the curse. This makes the level exceptionally easy to do in the time limit.
Also, a tip for the "Light Load" challenge is to hit the Spooky with the crowbar when it's on a ladder because it makes it drop down, giving you a lot more time to run.
The Worst Level in the Game map
Here's a crudely sketched map of "The Worst Level in the Game"
In this level, all the terrain and blocks are completely invisible, making navigating it a pain.
Hopefully this will make completing the level easier.
