Achievement hunters here we go
Hope you all are having a lovely time with 9Kings and will enjoy this guide to show you how to get every single achievement in this game. I will try my best to update this guide asap if the devs are adding more achievements. Currently the game has 31 to gain.

Most tactics that I'm suggesting can also be done with any other king so I'd say most achievements you'll probably gain just by playing the game, but there are some trickier ones for which it helps to have a guide, hence I thought you may appreciate a comprehensive guide.

If you have any other tips or comments, please feel free to leave a comment below this guide, more than happy to adjust this guide if needed.

And now... let's dive right into it!
Recommended: Any king
His Winningness - Win one game
As the description says, you will only need to win one game on any difficulty (which includes making it to year 34 and kill the enemy's champion + army). Don't worry about getting this one when you try the other achievements as some will anyway require you to win a game.

King of the Hill - Get your base to level 9.
For this achievement to pop up, you have to level your castle to Level 9. Usually you can only level a castle to Level 3 in each game, unless you spend 2 points in a specific perk ("Ingenious") that all kings have access to.

Hence it doesn't matter with which king you play, but they need to be Level 2 so you can spend the 2 points in this perk. To gain XP with a king you simply need to play the game (you gain XP every time you win or loose a game, depending on how far you made it). Those 2 points in the perk will allow you to level up your castle to Level 9. Some kings as mentioned below might speed this process up, otherwise you can also just simply pick castle cards whenever you see them or buy them at the merchant if available.

Kind of Blood might be easier to play here as as you will always face "yourself" as an enemy too, hence you have easier access to the "Sacrifice" card, which destroys a plot and levels up the plots next to it (so you can place e.g. towers or buildings next to your castle and then destroy them).

King of Progress works also with their "overhaul" card which levels up 2 random plots when you destroy a plot so that might also help leveling the castle quicker.

Edgelord - Put your base in the front FRONT line.
To gain this achievement, you need to put your base in the very first front line. At the beginning, your map does not have the maximum size, hence putting it in the front line you see at the start doesn't count. The map is 5x5 fields/plots big, so your base needs to be in that very first line. Each king has an ability/perk as well that you can level which is to gain a random plot unlocked at the beginning, so you could also just put points in that ability and then re-roll until you get a spot in the front line and then place your base there.

Toxic Relationship - Declare war and peace with the same king in a run.
Can be done with any king, just play a bit, in some years you have the option to declare war on a king and in some years you can declare peace. Just make sure you do it to the same king (so if you declare war with King of Nature for example, you have to make peace with King of Nature too). Once you have done both, it pops up automatically.

Crownmaxxing - Get a king to level 9.
This is basically just playing the game. You'll gain XP whenever you win or loose a game but depends on how many years you have survived. Most XP you gain is when you play at higher difficulty or when you play for maaaany many years (hence you'll get this one eventually, especially if you try out the 99 year achievement later).

Note: If you have already one king on Level 9, then just start a game with them and abandon it, this should count too for the achievement.

Flush... Kinda - Have 5 cards of the same king in your hand.
Can be done with any king, those who give you some specific cards at the beginning through perks/abilities are probably easiest. E.g. King of Greed can choose to start with vaults at the beginning, so you have 3 cards + 2 vaults, should easily give you this achievement quickly. I believe King of Blood also works as they can choose to have kobolds directly at the beginning. Otherwise you'll probably also get it when you buy enough cards of the same king at the merchant.

Piece of Cake - Win the final battle in less than 5 seconds.
Can be done with any king, if you do the speed run tactic I mentioned below in the King of Greed section, you'll probably get this one automatically as coin towers with enough speed to just annihilate everything super quick. Other kings work as well though, they just need to have enough speed, units or abilities, e.g. the powered up lightning from the King of Progress citadel is also quite strong with the right edicts (speed up the lightning).

True Royalty - Beat the game on King difficulty.
Can probably be done with any king, but some may feel easier for you to do and others harder.

To get access to king difficulty, you first have to play through each other difficulty at least once (but it doesn't matter if you do it with the same king or another one): Peasant, Squire, Knight, Lord, Baron, Count, Duke, Prince

The important thing to know here is that the enemies have a lot of health, so it's quite hard especially in the beginning years to beat them on higher difficulties. It helps a bit if your king is already leveled up a bit, so you have some abilities/perks that buff you a bit for each run.

King of Spells:
For prince and king difficulty, I was still using the King of Spells tactic explained below that I used to get to Level 99 (see below in this guide), but I build far more unit plots in the beginning years (e.g. kobolds, graveyards, bombers as I faced King of Blood), so I have more "tanky" bits on the map so that my lightning could then do the rest. It helps as well building libraries early and getting the steelcoat enchantment early as that unit plot who has the library next to it has a better chance of surviving against those strong enemies.

King of Greed is also an option:

Recommended: King of Nothing
Tower Defense - Win a run without using troops.
This achievement is easiest to do with King of Nothing as he has the options for tower cards and also has abilities that you can put points in that make towers stronger as well as he's the first King you unlock so you have access immediately to do this achievement. I've done it on peasant difficulty and for winning you just need to get to year 34 and beat the champion of one of the enemy kings + their army without putting down any troop card on any of your plots (hence tower tactic works best here especially at the beginning when you don't have many perk points). Each year when you beat an enemy king, you also get cards of them as loot, hence if you face other kings who have towers (e.g. flame tower + trebuchet from Stone King or Mangler from King of Blood, etc.) you can pick those cards and plaster your fields with towers. A nice combination is for example if you put down a forge (King of Nothing card) e.g. in the middle and place towers on all 4 sides of it, then this forge will buff all these towers. Same can be done with the fanal (King of Greed) or quarry (King of Stone) as these do also buff towers (note for quarry: doesn't have to be placed next to towers, can be placed anywhere on the map/any plot).

Other option could be King of Greed with dispenser (coin) towers, that works very well too but is a bit harder in the earlier stages when your towers are not yet very strong.

King of Stone is also build around a lot of tower defense, so that might also be a king to consider playing for this achievement. As usual, there are plenty of options depending on your playstyle.
Recommended: King of Greed
Cheapskate - Save 999+ gold in a single run.
To get this achievement, you will need to have 999+ gold coins at the end of any year. I've did this one with the King of Greed on peasant difficulty, since he allows you easily to earn money and you can combine this wonderfully with the mercenaries as well (the more gold you have, the more mercenaries you get on the troop plot). Check also the abilities of the King of Greed (the section where you can spend perk points each time you level this king up) as the "Nepo-Baby" for example allows you to start with 60 Gold in the first year which is also helpful for this achievement. Some edicts that you can choose also affect the pit, e.g. you gain more money when throwing cards in the pit, hence why you can combine this achievement with other ones below.

Sir Spends-a-Lot - Buy 9 cards in a single run.
When you do the achievement above to gain 999+ Gold, you will have enough gold at some stage to just buy you 9 cards at the merchant the next time he appears and this achievement will pop up. Easiest to do as King of Greed due as money-making is quite easy. You don't have to buy the cards all at once, can also buy some here and there at the merchant just as long as you have 9 in total before you end the game.

Decked up - Have 9 cards in your hand.
This one you should get automatically if you do the achievement above and buy all cards at once from the merchant once you have enough money. 3 you always have anyway on your hand, so you just need to buy 6 additional ones.

King of Recycling - Throw 9 cards into the pit in a single run.
Easiest to do if combined with the achievement above, because once you have bought the 9 cards you can throw them all in the pit. Other option is if you play the speed run achievement as per below guide, you will also get this one quite easily because that strategy is based on throwing away cards to make money.

Just One More - Re-roll 9 times in a single screen.
This one can also be easily combined with the 999+ gold achievement as you will have enough gold at the very end to just re-roll 9+ times and therefore get this achievement. It has to be done in a single screen, so you need to re-roll 9 times in a row basically which requires a lot of gold.

Alibaba - Get 40 Thieves in a single plot.
Can be easily done while you're trying to get one of the achievements above, easier as well if you face the King of Nature (you can reroll the start of your game until you get him as an enemy).

You just need to get the thieves card (9 units at start) and then get more thieves on this plot, which you can do by:
- Leveling up the plot (Level 3 is max, each leveling will add some more units to this plot)
- Use the "procreate" card from the King of Nature to add 9 more units (either face this king or try buying at the merchant if available)
- Get a farm from King of Nothing, which adds 1-3 units (per level) if placed next to the plot each year
- There are other options too, but the above mentioned is the quickest.

So You Think You Can Speedrun - Beat the game in under 9 minutes.
This achievement is a bit tricky as it requires you to be very fast (e.g. mouse clicks/drag and drops) and win year 34 (with the enemy champion + army) in under 9 min. Apparently it also helps to disable the "show buildings animations" options in the settings of the game, so try doing this first before you start the game.

Once a game starts, the timer ticks, no matter if you are pausing the game, have animations or similar, so try to be very quick with anything you do.

I found this easiest to do with the King of Greed, because
- Coin towers do a lot of damage especially in later stages
- King of Greed has a lot of options to make money (at the end of the year, your coin towers grow stronger the more money you make)
- Fanals are great to buff the towers with more speed
- Vaults help you gaining money to buff towers
- Some units work well together with making money, e.g. mercenaries from the King of Greed (you can use them especially in the early stages where your towers are not yet strong enough to annihilate everything)
- Choose the edict that gives you more money when you throw cards in the pit as this buffs towers each year
- you will have a lot of money, so when the trader comes up, you might be able to buy some more coin towers or other helpful cards, but remember you have to be quick as time is ticking, so don't spend to much time shopping, if you see something great, otherwise leave it and move on. When you buy cards, remember you also have to spend them directly, as the next fight only continues once you have only 2 cards left on the hand.

Of course, other Kings might work as well (King of Blood was close too as kobolds are super fast and I heard King of Nothing also has its charme, but in the end King of Greed did it for me).

I did it with this tactic: Basically put down coin towers, vault (that's a starting perk of King of Greed as well if you put points in it) and other things once you get them, e.g. fanal in the middle and mercenaries next to fanal. You can level up the coin towers a little bit, but I wouldn't spend too much time on it, basically trash all other cards by throwing them into the pit, that's the quickest way to win as you make money every year which buffs your coin towers with more speed each year. Remember you have to be under 9 min, hence no time to think very long, you have to be as quick as you can putting cards on plots or in the pit.

One Dollar Short - Get to a Merchant encounter with 29 gold.
For this achievement it's best to start a fresh run as King of Greed. Here's a guide, I've written, but there are plenty of options to get this if you count right, just personally King of Greed felt easiest to get it with.

Recommended: King of Blood
Meatgrinder - Have a Mangler destroy a troop plot entirely.
The description of this achievement might be a bit irritating, but basically what you need to do is having a mangler on one of your plots on the map and it needs to "eat" a troop plot next to it completely (by eating units, it increases its own damage). The mangler is a card of a Blood King, hence easier to gain if you play as King of Blood yourself as you always face "yourself" as enemy king and hence get the card as loot at some point, but you can also play any other king and face the King of Blood or try being lucky to buy this card at the merchant.

Suicide Squad - Have 99 Bombers in a single plot.

Like Sardines - Get 99 units in a plot.
Both of these achievements can be done together. King of Blood is preferred as they have easy access to the "Bomber" card (unit), but if you play as another king you can also gain the card by facing the King of Blood as loot or buy it when it appears at the merchant. Baby Boom blessing does also help if you get this at year 7 (blessing activates on year 17) and if you have the bomber card ready to then place on this Baby-Boom-plot.

King of Nothing is also quite helpful to either play as or face him, because you can get the "farm" as a card, which adds 1-3 units (per farm level) each year to the plot if placed next to it. He also has the card to level up a plot and each time you level your bombers up, they are gaining a bit more units too (max of Level 3 per bomber plot).

You can also use the card "procreate" from the King of Nature which lets you add 9 units to a plot, so this way you can speed it up quite a bit as well.

Like sardines can also be easily done with playing as King of Progress with rat-stack e.g. if you do the Ratticus achievement anyway.
Recommended: King of Stone
Wonderwall - Have 9 Wallmakers in your kingdom.
This one is easiest to get as King of Stone as you always face yourself as an enemy king which allows you to get the wallmakers card as loot. You can of course also play as another king, just make sure you're facing the King of Stone (and especially on the earlier stages as later their ballistas are quite annoying). Last option is to be lucky at the merchant and grab wallmakers there if they pop up.

You basically need 9 wallmaker cards and place them as a plot on your map. Leveling up your wallmakers doesn't count as a "single" wallmaker, so just make sure you have 9 plots ready to place them on.

This might require you to change the perks/abilities of your King (you can do that before you start a game) to pick the one that allows you to gain free spots at the beginning of the game. You will gain some further spots for free during the game and once you've beaten the enemy champion + army in year 34, you can also purchase any more slots for 30 Gold.

Also don't forget to still place units or towers at the beginning of the game, because if you only place wallmakers, you might easily lose (someone needs to fight these bloody armies!!).

Crossboar - Have a Ballista mount a Boar.
This one is easiest done when playing as either King of Stone (access to ballistas) or King of Nature (access to boars), but you can also play as any king and just make sure you face these 2 kings at some points so you can get those two cards. Another option is to buy them from the merchant if available.

The way how it works: Boars are always helping out troops which are next to them (as their description says as well), so they allow other troops to mount them. If you go specifically for this achievement, make sure the boars are only next to a ballista and then you should get it automatically once the fight starts, because the ballista troops will then mount the boars and shoot from there. It's also a lot of fun to watch giant ballistas on the little boars. xD
Recommended: King of Progress
Ratticus the First - Get a Lab Rat to level 99.
For this one it's easiest to play as King of Progress as you always have yourself as enemy and hence easy access to the King of Progress cards. The achievement will pop up, once one of your lab rat plots will gain level 99.

The difference to other unit cards is that the lab rats can level up indefinitely, while other units can only be leveled up to Level 3. Another nice bonus is that lab rats do also level up when their neighbouring cards (adjacent buildings, towers or units) are leveled up too.

Walkthrough:
- Put your first lab rat in the middle of the map
- Put either other buildings, your base or more lab rats on the adjacent plots next to the lab rats in the middle
- Focus level ups on the rats if possible but when you level up the adjacent buildings, your rats do also gain a level, so depends if you need any other level ups to "survive" a bit longer in your run
- Tip: If you choose the "Ingenious" perk/ability for your King (2 points) you can level your castle up to Level 9, which is basically another 9 level ups for your rats if they're next to it
- Focus on getting the "overhaul" card from King of Progress as well as the "concabulator", they work pretty well together, but you can also just "overhaul" any other plot which then levels up two random plots, so most likely your rats will be affected by it. Other kings can also provide you with some more helpful cards, so depending on who you have as an enemy:
- - Kind of Nothing: "Wildcard" (Joker), levels up a plot
- - Kind of Nature: "Clone" (use this to clone the lab rat card) or "Procreate" to add 9 units to the lab rat stack (helpful as well if you want to use "Splicing" as below quicker)
- - King of Blood: "Sacrifice", let's you destroy a plot and levels up the plots next to it, you can use it strategically to build a plot next to one of your rats for example, then destroy it and it levels up the rats too (e.g. helpful if you destroy Level 3 buildings with it, then you can re-build another building on the spot which you can then level up to 3 again, a.s.o.).
- - Rainbow/Special cards: Shrine is still quite helpful when it comes up (it seems to be quite rare now though especially since more rainbow cards have been introduced), it levels up a plot when you pay 9 gold at the end of the building phase. There's also another helpful rainbow card I forgot the name of, but it let's you destroy other adjacent unit cards of the plot and add the numbers of those cards to the plot. So if you have started by placing a lot of rats adjacent to each other, this one should make this achievement pretty easy to get.
- Once your lab rats reach Level 50, you can also choose the "Splicing" edict once it comes up, which doubles the amount of all your rats, so that should give you the achievement then right away.

If you want to try something else, you can also check out this guide from Milkyway which might provide you some more ideas:

Recommended: King of Spells
Die Hard - Survive until year 99.
Probably one of the achievements that took me a longer time, because I'm not a genius. ^^

To get this, you need to reach and survive level 99 (so continue playing after "winning" on year 34) and it will pop up then automatically. Easiest on peasant difficulty, but still gets quite hard once you come to level 65-78. Once you're done with these though, your strategy will likely have you easily go to level 99 and higher.

There are multiple options in terms of kings on how to get this achievement (e.g. rat stack with King of Progress works pretty well and other kings too), but I'll show you how I did it with the King of Spells as it felt the easiest for me.

Abilities/Perks
It helps if you have leveled up the KIng of Spells already a bit, so you can put some points into the perks/abilities, e.g. their special ones (purple ones) especially for buffing the citadel, the one for leveling up your base and maybe 1 or 2 points into gaining a free spot at the beginning of your game, so you can put the libraries already in the right place.

I've done it with these abilities:

Lineup for towers, etc.:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3497799475

Walkthrough:
- Optimal would be if at least King of Greed or King of Progress would be your first enemy kings (or King of Nothing for Steel coat early), because this way you can start getting fanals + converters already, so you can reroll at the beginning, otherwise try to focus on the King of Spells cards first and then pick the right kings once you can declare war again. Don't leave King of Stone too late in the game as his ballistas might otherwise just pierce through your steelcoats quite easily, he's helpful though for quarries + the plot-card which lets you destroy a building and open the adjacent spots at least at the beginning. Once you have 1-2 quarries and have opened some spots, get rid of King of Stone and instead rather choose King of Nature (or Greed/.
- Place your base in the middle, rest as per pic above
- Get wizards (or warlocks) as your first unit and place them in the bottom right corner as on the pic above
- The buildings you need for the lineup are fanals from King of Greed, converters from King of Progress, quarries from King of Stone, libraries from King of Spells (reminder if you have the abilities/perks as above, your libraries will be on level 2 once placed). Remember that you can also use King of Nature "clone" card as long as you have at least one of the buildings you need and then keep cloning.
- Enchantments: Focus on getting steelcoat early on your unit so that libraries can start duplicating this enchantment especially. Remember the more enchantments you put on your units, the more the libraries will have difficulties to level up steelcoat specifically, hence here is "less" better than more so pick only the ones that you feel are the most useful ones (steelcoat, burning and bloodbath (the King of Blood one) are quite good). AVOID chain lightning as enchantment as this will cause lags on higher levels (and since you need to target with your citadel it might cost you the run).
- Edicts: Focus early on getting those that buff your citadel, especially halving the time of lightning, increase tower speed (and later can also take damage one), turn enemies into frogs, etc. Once you have enough steel coats (e.g. 30-40), use the "enchantment" edict which doubles all enchantments on your units, so if you had 30 steelcoats, it's now 60 steelcoats. You can choose this only 2 times in a run, so choose wisely when to use it (if you feel the enemy waves are getting tougher, that could be a good time to use it first and then second time use it to bring the steelcoats up to 120 or 140, that should be enough).
- Free spot: If you have a free spot, e.g. while you're waiting to get more quarries, you can use a spot for example to put a "concabulator" down from King of Progress and once this is Level 3 (e.g. with the clone card of King of Nature), it levels up your buildings quite fast too. Once you don't need this spot anymore, you can always destroy it also with the King of Spells card that gives you 3x random cards when you destroy a plot (or with "overhaul" from King of Progress or "sacrifice" from King of Blood).
- Getting new spots for buildings: If you have the King of Stone as enemy early on (I
- Otherwise yeah basically just let your units do their thing while you focus on lightning everything to death. On higher levels, this will get really fun, especially when you have the ability chosen as above that your citadel has a chance to instant-kill a unit. This combined with the speed on the citadel is just... ridiculous!

Esoteric - Have one troop with 9 enchantments.
This one you'll easily get if you do the tactic above for 99 years, just have libraries to stack your enchantments on a troop plot.

Beefed Up - Have one plot deal 999999+ damage.
If you follow the guide above, then your citadel will be able to do this crazy amount of damage needed for this achievement. It can be done with other Kings though as well, I got it when I tried a 99 year King of Nothing run with towers only (you basically buff your towers and base with forges, which eventually will also let your base do ridiculous amounts of damage). King of Progress works as well if you buff the base, so I guess any other king works too for this achievement.

Kings Without Borders - Unlock every plot in a run.
Easy to do with the tactic above, because if you try to aim for 99+ years, you'll pretty much need to put a building on each plot eventually and hence need to unlock them all anyway. The map has 5x5 fields in total, so all of these you will need to unlock eventually, so basically just survive long enough you can do so. As explained above, you can also use cards like the King of Stone one where you can destroy a plot to open up the adjacent ones if you want the spots quicker.

King of Nothing Left to Do - Max level all plots in a run.
This achievement you can also easily combine with the one above for 99 years with King of Spells, because if your tactic works until year 99 then it's likely you can simply continue that tactic until all plots are max level. Basically you need to unlock every single plot (as above, there's also an achievement for it) and then put a base/building/tower/unit on every plot and max level all of these plots. Normal ones can be levelled up to Level 3, but if you have the perk/ability to have extra-levels on your base for example, then you need to level your base to 6 or 9, depending on how many points you spent in that perk. To level up plots quickly, try aiming putting Level 1 buildings first on a lot of plots, then use concabulators (King of Progress) and bring them to Level 3 to level up all other buildings.

You can probably also try out other kings to gain this achievement, but I'm not sure how the lab rats from King of progress work for example as they have indefinite levels.

This guide here may also be quite helpful for you if you look for additional ideas:

Recommended: King of Nomads
With patch #13 we got a new king, the King of Nomads and 3 new achievments for the game. Personally I found these easiest to get when playing myself as King of Nomads, but note that you can also get them while playing as any other king, just make sure you pick the King of Nomad as your enemy king (either re-roll at start to get him or pick him the first time you get the choice of going to war with another king).

Double Double Double Dragon - Have 9 Dragon's Dens in your kingdom.
For this achievement, you would simply need to place 9 Dragon's Dens in your kingdom, so on the map you are playing. At the beginning you will not have that many spots and you also need troops to survive if you play as King of Nomad, so the easiest I've found is having the King of Nature as enemy to allow you to get the "clone" card and use that one additionally to clone these Dragon's Dens. Otherwise you can also pick the card as reward or with a bit of luck it appears at the merchant where you can buy it. Just survive long enough in your run, so you can place these 9 Dens, so to have less hassle with this achievement, you can also play on "peasant" difficulty.

Note: To get more fields on your map, you can extend your kingdom by one field each so many years (when the tower is active), you can pick the +1 additional field at the beginning perk as a king-ability and you can also try picking the King of Stone as enemy to get the "earthworks" card which you can use to destroy a card/plot, so you can open up the adjacent spots next to that one.

Mass Migration - Use Migration 9 times in a run.
To get this, just use the card "Migration" 9 times in a run. You can get this card while playing as King of Nomads, while fighting him as an enemy or with a bit of luck purchase it from the trader. Just survive long enough, so you actually get to use it 9 times as it's not always coming up (e.g. you can also choose re-roll perks as king abilities or use an easier difficulty like "peasant").

Mountception - Have a Boar ride a Raptor.
Also pretty easy to get if you play as King of Nomad as the Raptor will come up eventually anyway and if you pick the King of Nature as an enemy (either at the beginning or the next time you can declare war on another king) you'll get the boar. Just place both of these troops/units next to each other (adjacent) and once the fight starts, the boars will jump on the raptors and there you go (looks quite funny actually!).

Thanks for the guide. Helped me on a couple I was stuck on.

I actually managed to get the Lv99 rats and surviving to Year 99 in the same run. Mothership in the back, six Lab Rats plots and fluked finding a Shrine from the first Rainbow battle. Cloned it twice with King of Nature. 3 max level Shrines and the in-run perk to make buildings go off one more time spent the exact same amount you get from a victory and selling a card. Lab Rats got to huge numbers. Avoided King of Stone because Ballistas were capable of smashing them. Spells didn't sound good either. Blood was also a bit hairy. Nature and Nothing were best matchups and best to get the Lab Rats into a good state before Shrine ramping was online.

If it helps,

For the Just One More achievement you can get an edict that give you 9 rolls and some of the perks give you re rolls also so you can use these to do the achievement w/o needing gold or as much gold

Lab rats seems to block King of Nothing Left To Do just from my own experience they seemed to prevent me from getting the achievement while I had them on the field
