The Process...
In order to get Rocksmith to function properly (have audio play) you might have to disable or remove any software that demands exclusive control over your audio device, that can be a real pain however.... So try this first..

  • First Right-Click on the little speaker icon in your system tray
  • then click on "Playback Devices"..
  • Once you're in there select your default audio device (mine was "Speakers" Realtek High Definition Audio).
  • then click on the properties button in the lower right corner of the window.
  • Click the "Advanced" tab, and use these settings..
  • After doing this, you'll want to Edit your Rocksmith.ini file found in your Rocksmith 2014 install folder.
  • Change it's settings to these (using your own appropriate resolution of course.)

  • Make sure to restart your Rocksmith client before checking to see if your audio works properly now.

If these settings don't fix your problem then you might have to go on the hunt for an offending piece of installed software, though this "hand grenade" approach to the problem will probably fix it.

Best of Luck!

There is actually a better way to record audio then turning off exclusivity mode. Turn on audio mixer in your audio devices, then add it as a source in OBS or whatever you use. It is practically whatever you hear out of your speakers and it works when programs use exclusive mode, meaning you won't have additional latency while playing or recording.

I've tried turning exclusivity off, and with the "Audio Engine Setting" at both extremes of the slider. The outcome turned out like this:

I don't get it. I used this guide to record on my old computer and it worked practically perfectly. I use the same .ini file and my new PC says I disconnected my audio device...

Worked like a charm....... for anybody who is trying to figure out how to access the files, right click the game you want then select properties. After which you want local files, Then Click Browse Local Files. The '.ini' file will most likely not say .ini so you just look for the file that says Rocksmith with an icon looking like a gear and piece of paper.
Then do the formentioned.......
Hope this stuff helps and Im gonna save this info for later never know when it might be deleted thanks again......
