Decent control set up
By Lord Tony
These aren't perfect controls but it got me through the end of the game without much issues. Nothing can fix the bad camera angles and chunkiness but using freelook helps a lot. After awhile you get use to it. I use to get really good with the controls that I could dodge enemy attacks easily and had no problem mowing them down with a sword.

WASD - standard movement.

Shift - running

Ctrl - Walking

tab - freelook/aiming

space - jumping

E - activate objects

F or Q - magic attacks

left mouse button - weapon attacks

That's pretty much it, this same set up has also got me through Tomb Raider, American McGee's Alice and many other 90s games with similar controls.

You also want the attack button to be the mouse button because this keeps your right hand on the mouse at all times so you can freelook without moving your hand off the controls.
