Intro
I went crazy on this game to breed fish of every color. I'm not 100% sure I'm finished finding everything but I figured it'd be helpful to put a guide up for others. Hopefully it helps you!

(This guide was last updated during v1.0.7b, so future updates may make this guide incorrect!)

  • Zebrafish - $5

Colors Available:
Available Colors:
  • Light Red
  • Red
  • Dark Red
  • Light Orange
  • Orange
  • Light Yellow
  • Yellow
  • Dark Yellow
  • Light Green
  • Green
  • Dark Green
  • Light Blue
  • Blue
  • Dark Blue
  • Light Purple
  • Purple
  • Dark Purple
  • Pink
  • White
  • Grey
  • Black
  • Brown (technically Dark Orange? :p)
(Special colors:)
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Rainbow

Note: Dark Orange, Light Pink, and Dark Pink do not appear to be colors that exist. (edit: I somehow didn't figure out that Dark Yellow existed before making this guide. Um. Ooops! xD;;)

Certain colors only appear to exist in the fishing minigame. I didn't find Black fish until I maxed out my fortune stat, it appeared as an Axolotl and also as a Pleco. I forget by now, but I think this minigame was also how I got Dark Green.

If you're struggling to breed a certain color, remember that your best bet is to breed two colors closest to each other on the color wheel. Blue and Orange will get you Brown, but Blue and Yellow will get you Green. White mixed with a color should get their lighter variant. Black mixed with a color should get their darker variant.

Axbert tends to hint at color combinations while you're breeding fish. If you would like those spoilers:
  • Bronze - Black and Dark Red
  • Silver - Blue and Grey
  • Gold - Light Yellow and White
  • Rainbow - Blue and Orange
Other Tips:
Some additional tips:
  • Add decor items to your grow-out tank ASAP. It'll make growing fish up go by MUCH faster.
  • On PC you can download an autoclicker to rapid-right-click and feed fish while you walk off. You can also tape the right mouse button down. I tried both, lol.
  • If your fish bug out and appear outside of their normal tank range, go to another tank and switch back, it should reset their positioning.
  • If you're struggling to feed a fish, scroll wheel in/out to find it's sweet spot.
  • It appears a fish parent having a hat gives a higher likelihood of the children having a hat. (edit: oops jk)
  • I don't think the hats do anything else, though Axbert throws a lot of praise onto them.
  • Axbert hints at a super-rare fish that only he has seen. I have no idea which fish he means, currently.
End!
I'll add to this later if I can think of anything else! Or if I discover anything I missed here! Good luck :3

Looks beautiful!

Light red is the same as pink, and is named accordingly in the game. It's just pink, maybe I'll change it at some point but that's how it is for now! :loddlelove:

Aaaa thank you Axbert (and Dev! :D) for the tips!! I reworded some stuff in the guide, thank you :3

So okay just to be clear:

Pink = yes
Light Red = yes, but it's not pink
Light Pink = no
Dark Pink = no
Dark Orange = no ("we have Dark Orange at home" aka Brown)
Dark Yellow = yes (how did I miss that, omg)

Hopefully that's right, now XD

Axbert stole my computer to type this.

Holy fish, Batman!! I just swam through this guide—WOWZERS. You went wild!

Couple slippery notes from your local fishy friend:

- Brine shrimp unlocks if you have $0 and no fish in the tank you're currently in (not all tanks)!

- A new fish was added to the shop today. Definitely not tentacled. Nope. 👀

- You're missing one "fish" from fishing—very rare, not luck-based. I wish you the slimiest luck!

- Brown = dark orange, pink = light red. Dark yellow? Real. Naming is a choice, okay?

- Parent hats don’t influence baby hats. It’s all RNG. Fashion is emotional, not genetic.

- Love that you spotted the decor XP boost—most players miss it!

As for the super rare fish? My lips are sealed. My gills are zipped. No spoilers. 🫢

You're a legend in the fishverse. 🐟💫
