After "upgrading" to Windows 11, I found that every new game I started crashed the application to desktop without an error message as the game was loading in. Interestingly, I could load existing saves just fine.

When I was on Windows 10, this issue did not exist.

UPDATE: Just to clarify, I did try to both verify game files and reinstall the game, but neither option solved my problem.

Strangely enough, it was crashing due to the game randomly selecting my opponents. When I manually picked my opponents, the game loaded fine.

I will continue to experiment with this and update the guide if I find more. Perhaps it is a particular civ that is causing issues? Who knows!
