How to "Make FPS Great Again"
By Hyrulian
The state of multiplayer FPS games is tragically stale, so let's go over how to "Make FPS Great Again!":

1. Release a "beta" with infinitely less content then the first game.
2. Have an item shop with super expensive ugly cosmetics.
3. Launch the game with a super unique never done before gamemode in the FPS genre, "BATTLE ROYALE".
4. profit?
5. Unlaunch the game??

What an absolute win. Thank you everyone on the Splitgate 2 team for such a wonderfully original game that highly iterates and improves on the formula of the first game. Thank you for this awesome lackluster original game mode called a Battle Royale.

Splitgate 1 died for this garbage.

im not telling you you can't complain. but i disagree with these ideas about br. who cares if it's unoriginal? big map gameplay where you fly in at the beginning and the world closes in forcing engagements is fun for a lot of players. you don't have to do something new every time you do something.

i mean, why not criticize them for using guns and reticles? (so original huh)

also, it's more of a cultural trope that multiplayer fps is stale. it's a huge playerbase playing fps the same as ever. however, it might get old for a human to play the same kind of fps videogame for years and decades. im not saying theres no grounds for the idea, but yeah, it comes off to me as a sign that someone may be doing - "i probably complain about so many things in simple, broad, unverified ways"

and again, i dont think you shouldn't complain about things you care about. that's why im commenting, right, im giving feedback to you

An unfinished game in not in Beta. Beta is a finished game undergoing testing for gamebreaking bugs.

An Alpha is an unfinished game.

A beta should be the full release with minus any bug fixes from bugs found as a result of the beta.

The term beta is a well-defined term, and a "beta" with less content than the release is just misusing the term.

Huh, its almost like an unfinished part of the game shouldn't have more content that a fully finished AAA game. Also, have you actually played the br? Its not Fortnite.

so ur saying a beta should have MORE content than a full game?
