As the source material mentions there could be recipe unlocks too, this data may be outdated but here is some of what else might be included in that category:

Enlisting and Smuggling Archers = Wooden Arrows, Copper Arrows
Hunter & Alchemy = Aromatic Remedy, Mana Elixir
Hunter & Clothing = Leather Hood, Leather Gauntlets, Leather Gloves, Leather Boots, Leather Pants
Hunter & Cook = Hearty Omelet, Roast, Simple Meal (super easy to unlock via experimentation)

Ya, that was the disclaimer with the source material too - there could be recipes involved but those are hard to test... I'll add in a section with past recipe data even if it might be outdated now :S

Pretty sure you can learn several blueprints depending from your choices.
Like leather set and arrows for archers, some recipes for alhemy, cooking recipes...
But it's hard to test as you need to exit Asylum first.
