Dredge: Fire Edition

Description
Dredge: Fire Edition

The dredge is a transformation class that encourages the usage of both forms to get maximum value. The general gameplay loop is setting up as human mode to unload big damage in mech mode where damage is more consistent. If Dredge ever takes too much damage, the dredge can eject to receive a second wind. This class is an overhaul / rework of the original Dredge posted by Seal. Thanks to Seal for giving me permission to post and thanks to the large community of people that took part in the creation of this mod both the original and rework. There is a credits page listed at the bottom. If they ever change their mind I will take this mod down.

The dredge has seen a massive upgrade sporting two new effects utilizing two new effects of fire and daze. The mods that add these effects are required for them to be able to be used, however there the dredge can be played without them but will not be played as intended.

Notes

This mod uses the daze dependency mod which is the copy and pasted daze effects from the duelist mod with renamed variables. They are compatible with one another. The reason why this requires the dependency mod is because it references code from the Daze Dependency. It is most similar to importing a library to a codebase. It just provides better modularization if the code is repeated multiple times. The daze dependency just helps so that the same code is not rewritten over and over again for seperate mods.

Compatibility / Load Order
Not compatible with the original dredge mod. This one has the same class id as it is built on top of the original. Load order should not matter except having firepatch and daze dependency high up so they are not overwritten. This mod is compatible with the therapist and duelist mod. They all use the same daze effect just with renamed variables. The mod is compatible with dredge skins for the original mod. However, there is a caveat where some of their animations will not work properly for the Amber Core trinket. This mod has a trinket for the Sunward Isles region called Amber Core. If you have sunward Isles you can find the trinket to turn into the Amber Mech.

@Spartanmatt You can copy the specific files over to a seperate mod and use it as an addon that overwrites this dredge if you dont want to deal with reapplying changes. Ill see if I can make a simple unlisted workshop addon and provide the link here.

@Just Luck Thanks boss. I'll consider playing around with the files over there. I assume if this mod updates, I'll have to return to reapply any changes I make locally?

@Spartanmatt Glad you enjoy it! I dont think I will be uploading another version of the same mod as its a very minor change. I can however show you where you can change the stats to suit your needs.

If you navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\262060\3481828578 and go into the heroes/dredge/dredge.info.darkest

You can see a weapon section that shows the damage values. You can change the values there accordingly. Let me know if you need help finding it and hope this helps out

Also very minor: there's a spelling typo under Prismatic daze for heat level generated. Missing a letter.

Hey there, really been enjoying your overhaul of the class. Thanks for sharing it for the rest of us to enjoy.

About the recent balance updates, have you considered uploading another version of this same mod that is perhaps less balanced, more power fantasy? While I understand and appreciate the desire to balance this class around the vanilla experience, it also feels odd to reduce the base damage values to be below that of, say, the Crusader. I say that because it feels a little strange when the highest damage dealer in the party is likely the Hellion or Leper and not the CHUNKY mech for most encounters. It's a hulking mech that shoots lasers with arms the size of men after all! I'm sure once you buildup the fire debuff, the damage can skyrocket. But by then, I feel like most of the enemies are already slain or knocking on deaths door. These are just my opinions.

I think you should also be fine posting it on the workshop under your account if you want to go that route. I can list the translation mod link in the description.

Hello, I have updated the Chinese translation for your mod. May I send it to you?
Just Luck  [author] 24 Jul @ 7:58pm
@Sidewinder Swindler Should be compatible if it's compatible with the original as there are no animation changes.
