To start fishing you need a rod and bait, to get a rod go north-east of the bank and you will find Yorvik and Yeddy by the waterfall with 2 fishing poles in front of it.


The basic rod costs 100g or you can make it at the carpentry station, and you can find worms wiggling in the ground or buy them from Yorvik.

All further rod upgrades have to be made with the Carpentry skill or bought from other players.

All further bait past worms has to be made with the cooking skill or bought from other players.

When catching fish you will have a little mini-game pop up with a bar that goes from green-orange-red-line snapping, The higher your fishing strength the easier the mini-game is while at the same time the larger the fish the harder the mini-game is and you will get more xp.

fishing level, fishing rod, fishing gear set are only ways to get fishing strength.

You will notice sometimes as you fish that you will catch fish much faster and the fish that you catch are larger so more xp and they are often the rarer variety of whatever bait your using.

This is a Hot spot it is hard to find a Hot spot because there are no visual ques and they can often move I personally have not found a method or way to consistently find them beside fishing in groups more people throwing Bobbers all around easier it is to find them.

Certain areas have certain fish and depending on what bait you use different areas will be better for xp or money.

I am in the process of figuring out what areas are best for each bait but it is a very slow process.

While fishing you can get angler hat,angler boots and bottles to my knowledge these are all random and no bait increases the odds of getting them.

Yeddy quest Edit
At level 10 fishing a quest becomes available from Yeddy, to complete it you need to turn in a Salty Anthology this is made by combing three pages that you get from opening bottles.

When the quest is completed it opens a new shop.
