Nanako definitely has some dependence on her hyper, but not as much as Syura. She's slightly better in normal battles, but the hyper might not even be useful offensively (or at all) due to random chance. On that note, it requires no setup unlike Syura who has to play the entire game trying for 1HP whether she actually has her hyper or not. Merely the concept of the thing makes them often not worth engaging in combat, but Nanako only really needs one or two per game to pull out at the right moment whereas Syura needs it practically every fight.
Suguri only needs one hyper to clinch a match, and anything more is just bonus or luck insurance.
QP-D, I feel, shouldn't be THAT far left. True, her hyper really sets her up from an otherwise puddingless hand, but after that you might even start discarding them. It's kind of expensive for a temporary random +1 stat for a single turn if you've got +2 already, and discarding a pudding card for the hyper can be a tough choice sometimes. Besides, you can't even use the thing right away, so you might already have some pudding by the time you can.
Peat actually does fairly well for himself in normal battles with the +1 Atk as a decent deterrent, and his hyper can even be disadvantageous at times due to the evasion penalty. I'd maybe consider swapping him with Aru, but Aru doesn't need countless hypers either, especially when using it often gives her another which is completely useless until at least a couple chapters later.
>shit tier
ya ok kid
Other than that, how is Aru and Hime low tier on hyper? Aru’s hyper has the highest possible star gain of any card. It can also double as a free/profiting full hand if everyone else has nearly full or full. I would put her at 2nd top. Hime would only go up one from 2nd lowest mostly because of how late game her hyper is, but once it’s up it becomes one of the strongest board control cards in the game being able to 100% do many things that no other character can do 100% such as stopping 2x spaces, securing piggy banks, killing a 1 HP boss, catching up to another character, kill stealing, running way, using 2 cards, going a short distance to home (1-3) then running away, and playing 1v0 as Hime secures the last few turns with nothing but traps to stop her.
I feel like Peat and Nanako should be switched on hyper reliance. Nanako is just a shield without her hyper and needs it to be able to do any substantial damage. Peat on the other hand is limited by his own hyper, with or without it, to have to keep as large of a hand as possible. Even then it’s just a non-RNG Nanako hyper with no chance of evasion.
-Changed organization of tier list. Tier list is now separated by Hyper Reliance and Hyper Independence.
Basically, it shows which characters do not need their hyper to do what they can, and who doesn't. Examples of highly hyper independent characters are Yuki and Tomomo, since they are one of the best battle characters in the game and their hypers are extremely situational to the point where it's rarely used. Examples of highly hyper reliant characters are QP (Dangerous) and QP, since QP-D needs her hyper to sustain her passive, and QP needs Hyper Mode to keep her momentum strong for the entire game.
- Kyousuke moved to high tier.
- Fernet moved to low tier.
Kyousuke's buffs make Fernet less desirable as a pick. Along with having the same attack and defense as Fernet, Kyousuke has the ability to dodge in exchange for 1 less HP. Kyousuke's hyper is also quite strong and has very little reprecussions to use now due to said buffs.
Balance:
- Nanako now has (Special) Recovery Value: 4.
Nanako top tier 2015.
