Every now and again I attempted to seed new batches of old favorite progenitor races back into the survival pool to see if they would develop anything interesting with the new factors in the simulation though I did not notice anything of import. I also created artificial evolutionary bottlenecks by varying zone parameters between relative scarcity of resources and fertility vs "base" resource scarcity and fertility. The halving function was only used twice in an attempt to create an equal mass-extinction event and to see what would develop from the ashes, it appeared to possibly work the second time? A lot of color variation has developed naturally from only ~111 hours of real simulation time.
