If you just started the game you need a simple, cheap and working washplant.
In this case all you need is:

• Hopper
  
• Washplant
  
• Silo
  
• A power source + Cable
  
• Power Input (x10 is the fastest / Needs 800Kw windpower / moves 300 units of material/s)
  
• Conveyer belts (Optional)

The washplant splits paydirt into:

• Gold ore
  
• Silicone ore
  
• Diamond ore
  
• Ruby ore
  
• Dirt

As side note:
With this setup (x3 Power Input / 300kW Solar Panel) you can start a Hardcore world.
Costs are 62.410$
Use the remaining 37.590$ to buy Paydirt in the Shop: Resources > Dirt > Paydirt
Sell in the shop the material you get out of the Paydirt: Dirt/ Gold-/ Silicone-/ Diamond-/ RubyOre
37.590$ Paydirt will make arround +13.510 Profit = 51.100$
Reapeat this, until you can buy the x10 Power Input + a better power source.
(You can insert Material into the Hopper by hand. You need to open the Hopper inventory, place the paydirt inside and click "consume").


Second step:
Add a smelter (for gold) and a high temp smelter (for silicone). - It dosen´t matter in which order.
And then a bar roller.

You can shrink the storage size of the gravel silo by placing 1x Dirt in each slot you dont want to have filled with gravel. As soon the Silo is full. Any more Gravel will flow trought the silo to the Froth Floater / Asphalt.

Fitered water is needed for the floater.

Added filtered water at the concrete area. I dident want to add an extra power source for the extra pump. So I added it into the system with a merger and a splitter (See the red arrows).


Update:
If you are unsure about the mergers getting anytime an overflow:
You can use a small hopper to merge. Its important that you place the Chutes NOT above each other.
The Merger at that position can only get an overflow, if you insert first 300 paydirt and then 300 Ore.
That can only happen, if you are digging up an orevene in the paydirt layer. And the material is inserted in that order and amount in the big Hopper.

Some people requested a setup for the smelters and production buildings.

My goal was to balance each production line with the same input of melted material.
Since there are 4 production lines. This means 25% for each production line.

Overall Iron- / Copper- and Aluminium-plates can be sold for better prices.
The best setup would be a single production line for plates + a bar roller for the other materials like goldbars.

Update:
If you are unsure about the mergers getting anytime an overflow:
You can use a small hopper to merge. Its important that you place the Chutes NOT above each other.
Only the merger befor the normal smelter (red) can get an overflow. For this first 300 Iron / Aluminium Ore need to be on the belt. directly followed by 300 Copper / Lithium / Silver or Gold. (That cant happen in normal mining (Becaus of the Froth Floater´s tailings). Only if you insert the ore that way by hand into the hopper)

The current state of the wash- and productionplant is also my current plant. But I rearranged the machines for shorter walking distances:

I would recoment to start digging in an area where the top layer is a bit darker.
This is an indicator that there is some kind of ore or coal beneath it.
Coal ore

Iron Ore
The darker area of Iron venes contain Gold, Aluminium and Lithium ore.


World layers

The top layer of the world is only dirt (dark brown). It is worthless.
The second layer is paydirt (light brown - On the bottom of the hole) .

The washplant splits paydirt into:

• Gold ore
  
• Silicone ore
  
• Diamond ore
  
• Rubin ore
  
• Dirt

The third layer of the world is Rock. You need to transform solid rock to blasted rock befor you can load it up. (You can blast it with dynamite or you can use the ripper of a dozer)

Blasted rock / Solid Rock (Can be bought in the shop)
-> Crushed Rock

Cone Crusher
Crushed Rock
-> Gravel

Froth floater
Gravel
-> Iron
-> Copper
-> Bauxit (Aluminium)
-> Lithium
-> Tailing

The Gold / Silicone / Copper / Iron / Steel (with coal) / Aluminium / Lithium can be smelted into bars

The diamond ore and rubin ore can be processed at the small washplant into one diamond and ruby per ore.
