How to make this game easy and feel less repetitive.

This guide is only here because developers decide to lock some of the most important core mechanism in the tech tree instead of making it available right away to the player on turn one.

How to make this game easier and feel less repetitive.
1. Check what you need to achieve on the top left to unlock as many crowns as possible in every run.
2. When unlocking tech trees, do not branch out, go straight up. Because many core mechanisms are locked behind the tech tree.
3. Play kingdoms other than the duchy as soon as possible and unlock the tech tree further upward.
4. Only branch out and unlock other stuff when you actually get to the top of the tech tree.

Tricks:
1. Don't place your enemy tile when you can hold it on to your hand. 1 fewer enemy tiles is usually more useful than having an extra 3 perfect rows, unless you know you won't be taking any damage.
2. If you can draw some strong cards and place them early. Quickly exceeding the top and starting the "battle phase" early might be more beneficial most of the time (including the boss fight).
3. Quality of the card is always more important than quantity.
4. Check the enemy card before playing. If the enemies are stronger with a forest tile, then use lumberjack to make as few forests as possible and choose to use your card that would be strong on field.
5. SL is always available if you can't win.

Thanks for the explanation. Still trying to get past the second boss on the first level, so this can only help!

@TheRapie 1. Try to complete as many lines (columns) as possible, because only by completing lines do you gain resources. 2. Check the enemy card before playing. If the enemy has a woodcutter, place all your forest cards on one side (eg, far left) of the board and place the enemy tile to the far right, and use the grassland card in the middle as a buffer. When your own lumberjack and your own woodcutter show up, place them on the left to benefit your own forest you created earlier. 3. Remember to have a look at your next 3 draw pile. If you see an enemy card coming up, plan ahead of time where to place it. More crucially, leave a single indent slot for your own lumberjack card to maximize your yield.

@LedburyCanary SL is "frequently save and load" which means press ESC and click "reloading save" often

i am struggling with generating enough resources to upgrade my cards.
also, when an enemy forest card is on the board an a woodcutter, the enmy benefits from the forest before the woodcutter cuts it down. :(
