Overview
7/25: Working on adding stuff from the latest Spirit update!

This guide was originally for the Early Access version of the game. I've updated most of it for the 1.0 release with everything I've found so far (they added a LOT of new trinkets). I think I got them all, but let me know in a comment if something is missing.

Trinkets can be divided into several types: Bases, Lids/Hats, Extensions/Handles, Gems, Rings, Tassels/Charms, Pins, and a few that only connect to specific items.

Each item listed will indicate how many sockets are available, as well as what category those sockets are.

Some items can fall under more than one category.

Feel free to use Ctrl+F to search for specific item names.
A few tips for earning more gold
  • Always clean items before selling them.
  • When you can afford it, upgrade the shop's window shelf until you can buy the Display Mat. Items placed on the mat will net you bonus gold when they sell.
  • Always try to attach the most trinkets you can to the item being asked for (you can upgrade the Upcycling Tool to a max of 7 attachments). Note that named NPCs are usually not going to accept unrequested stuff added to items they need -- you can tell if the quest list says "(only)" in the item name when they're at the window. So save the crazy projects for unnamed customers and Display Mat items.
  • Feel free to dismiss unnamed customers that ask for "only" a specific item (meaning you can't add anything to it to raise the price). There will always be more customers. Exceptions might be things that require very specific items for their sockets, like the Dentures or Calligraphy Pen parts, because their uses are limited. There's a list of those at the bottom of the guide.
  • Dismiss named NPCs unless you already have the item being requested. Them hanging out by the window prevents other customers from showing up. You can always summon them back once you have what they want.
  • Keep a good stock of trinkets that have multiple and/or different types of sockets, because they can attach to the largest variety of other things. Examples: Hilts, Wooden Chunk Handle, Bottle, Wooden/Menacing/Scary Mask, Lute, Grandma's Egg, Artisanal/Spirit Hands, Acorn Drum Lid, and the bodies for any of the plushies or dolls. This is easier to do once you unlock the Hullifer trinket delivery network.
  • If you have lots of extras of certain trinkets or parts, buy the "Pay What You Can" box upgrade at the window. You can leave stuff in there overnight for a few gold per item. It's not much - a Display Mat will earn you significantly more - but it's a quick way to free some space taken up by junk.

Some of the top gold earners (assuming all items are cleaned) are:
  • 350+ gold: Lich Crown
  • 200+ gold: Lich Crown Accessory, Tiara, Grandma's Egg, Esoteric Ring, Viola, Menacing Mask, Miniature Wizard Hat, Artisanal Hand
  • ~150-200 gold: Bone Ring, Ivory Hair Comb, Fist, Lute, Lyre, Mechanical Mask, No Face Mask, Ritual Rabbit Skull, Scary Mask, Talaven's Golden Focus, Tiara Decoration, Vitas's Ankh, Wizard Staff Orb
  • ~100-150 gold: Bead Necklace, Frog Figurine Froglets/Parents, Hairpin, Human Sword Blade/Hilt, Locket Necklace, Magnifying Glass Lens, Nimble Jack's Bicorne, Rabbit Eye Gem, Rabbit Skulls, Sorcerer's Focus Key, Spirit Crown Insignia, Swirly Necklace, Teardrop Gem, Vitas's Crow, any ring or planet
I hope this helps a bit for the 'sell an upcycled item for 1,000 gold' achievement. Keep in mind prices are ranged and may change with patches, so you may earn a tad more or less per item. Plus you get a good chunk more if they're on the Display Mat before they're sold.

General Tips
  • Focus on maxing out the soaking tub as your first upgrade goal. Leaving 3 items overnight to be cleaned is INCREDIBLY helpful early game.
  • Utilize the coffee pot for 1 extra time slot per day. It's only 20 gold, which is peanuts after you start selling more stuff. It helps to leave it till later in the day, in case you need to do one last upcycle for a customer before bed.
  • Try to do the main questline (the cursed armoire stuff) as soon as possible, so you can buy your Aunty's delver license upgrade(s). Each upgrade unlocks a wider range of more valuable trinkets that you can find in the sack.
  • If you're frustrated with the Chisel minigame because the purple cubes are a pain in the ever-loving butt, buy the long chisel upgrade. It breaks 4 blocks in a line, can break purple blocks through other blocks, and just overall makes it SOOOO much easier to deal with.
  • You can leave a customer at the window overnight (or for multiple days) without penalty.
  • If days go by and you don't seem to be getting any new quest NPCs, check your map. You may need to visit one of the market locations to advance the storyline.
  • When customers ask for a "Heritage Trinket", you can use any item that has that race's name in the title. There's no specific item called "Heritage Trinket". Similarly, "Undead" trinket means anything bone-related.
Bases
I'm counting bases as trinkets that can 1) take at least one extension, lid, or gem, and 2) aren't primarily or obviously lids or jewelry themselves. Certain bases can also work as lids (attaching to other bases), and are listed in the Lids section.

Thanks @Chernov

This method had a customer give me 1,033 for mine!

Hey, if anyone needs a combination for the "pay day" achievement, then you can try the same combination I did.
Lich crown, lich crown accessory, motor broom seat, bear plushie body, natural charm enhancement, rabbit eye gem, green planet, red planet.
I got offered 1442g for this when it was in a display.
Enjoy.

A tip from one cheap trash gobo to another: if you don't have the money to fully upgrade your upcycling tool, you can piece together your max on one item, then finish and start the upcycling process on the other items you need to attach. It does take up more of your day slots, but it will allow you to exceed the max# your upcycler has. :)

IE: If you're building one of the dolls, put the body together with some legs, separately put the hat on the doll's head then piece them together! Need just one more to put that arm on? Start the upcycling process on the arm, then attach the body to it.

@Absurd logic: I figured that might be the case. I guess I'll just keep the display mat empty and focus on cycling customers and opening bags until I find it.

@denerd1: The only way I've found that seems to increase chances of an item showing up is to get a customer that asks for it and keep them at the window while opening sacks. Otherwise I don't know, sorry. :/ Maybe ask the dev if they can add a late game mercy timer for missing Trinketpedia items?
denerd1 3 Jun @ 3:23pm
Thanks for the great guide! Do you have any tips on how to increase your chances of getting an item youve never seen before? I'm at the point where I've filled in the whole of the trinketpedia except for the Menacing charm.
Absurd Logic  [author] 30 May @ 8:01pm
@dragonlilly75: Once you upgrade the upcycling tool, you can rotate stuff in sockets. Lots of other things go on "wrong" until you get that upgrade. XD
dragonlilly75 29 May @ 9:04pm
The fact that chicken pitcher handle goes on upside down is doing my head in XD

I hope you dont mind, but i'm linking to your guide (i am willing to remove it if asked) because this really helps with mine.

mine is gonna be about what category each item (like human trinket) is and also what beings mean when they ask for specific items

we trash gobbos gotta stick together and support one another <3
Absurd Logic  [author] 16 May @ 8:54pm
@rubywulf: The viola bow counts as a pin. You can attach tassels or the Goblin Lantern to it.
