Fishing
Wanna help out all fellow fishers. This guide Includes

1. Explanation of Movement types, to attract fish
2. Explanation of Whoppers
3. Fish locations and spawn + Where I found Crowns ( based on my playthrough, not all locations)
4. Tips and additional information

The Keyboard Fishing Instructions are pretty unclear. Like Quick Reel and Slow Reel, having the EXACT same instructions, the prompt " lure W or S " What???. The only simple one is Jig Line, just press S

1. ALWAYS HAVE OUTDOORSMAN SKILL 2. NET FISHING IS ALLOWED FOR CROWNS BUT NOT KANYA QUEST

Note: This guide is purely based on my experience and will cover only spots I know of, not all fishing stops in the game. This might have some inaccuracies, as I finished crown fishing awhile ago and became busy with TU1, foggy memories.

Please Correct me If Anything is wrong in this guide

Outdoorsman Skill

Movement Types
Throwing bait into the water and staying still will MOST LIKELY get ignored by the fish. To get fish's attention and make it stop ignoring the bait u must use movement types below

Movement types
3 Movements for Fishing: Use for attracting fish attention
1.Slow Reel
2.Quick Reel
3.Jiggling

1.Slow Reel:
Reeling normally by ALTERNATING between W and S.

Alternating: press W then S back and fourth.

I have wasted so much time pressing Only S, thinking that i'm attracting the fish seeing the bait hopping and moving back (when in fact, I was only Jiggling the bait rapidly).

2.Quick Reel:

TO DO A QUICK REEL: alternate between W and S slowly in the first second then speed up your W and S alternation. ( METHOD DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK)

This way, the hunter will still do a slow reel but switches into a quick reel in a short time.

3:Jiggling : Just tap S

To Reel fish in alternate between W and S when the fish is tired out

Bait/Lures
Fish has their preferred bait, to maximize your chance of fish biting you should use the right movement and bait but sometimes fishes do bite other baits randomly. The Aquatic life guide tells what bait a fish prefers under the fish description.

For small fishes, the slow reeling does the job in attracting most of them. (can't recall seeing any small fish NOT attracted to slow reeling I think)

For whoppers, I think the right bait AND movement is a MUST, or else it will take a very long time for them to bite. (e.g. spear tuna prefers QUICK REELING + Tuff Joint bait)

More Baits / Lure are unlocked as you do more of Kanya's Questline ( Fishing girl at the back of Scarlet Forest Base Camp)

Note: Kanya's Questline seems to unlock as you progress the story. So if shes isn't giving more quests after you complete one, continue the main story I think.

I cannot Remember what lures are used for each individual small fish anymore. Sorry fellow fishers.
Catching Whoppers KB&M
Whoppers : Great Trevally, Gastronome Tuna, Gajau, Goliath Squid, and Spear Tuna

After the Whopper bites you have to hold the directional key ( W,A,S,D) according to which way the whopper is going.

If the Whopper is going left hold A, going Right hold D for example. The Line will eventually snap if you fail to hold the right key long enough.

Obstacles

Hold the opposite directional key to the direction the fish is swimming, to lead the fish away from the obstacle or else the line snaps.

In my experience, press the opposite directional only when the fish reaches the obstacle.

Pressing it before, will count as you going against the fish swimming and could snap the line. ( sometimes the line breaks anyway, wut )

Whopper Swimming Right (direction) into the obstacle, We Hold A to lead it to the opposite way.

Whopper Jumping:

While the whopper is mid air,

1.look at the direction of where the head of the fish is pointing.

2. press the directional key (W,A,D) according to the head's direction and left click AT THE SAME TIME to pull it into the water.

e.g. Spear tuna jumping head facing the left, press A+ left click) (I changed my keybinds from "left click" to "Q" instead for fishing, so my would be W+Q,A+Q D+Q etc.

Whopper Doing a Straight/Backflip | W+ Left Click |

Whopper Doing a jump Head Pointing Left | A+ Left Click |

Whopper Doing a Jump Head Pointing Right | D+ Left Click |

Map Location of Image Above

Tips
1. Highly Recommend to Catch Speartuna at Area 13 instead as the area is way small less Space to reel

2. After the fish is attracted you can reel in the bait to make them swim closer before they bite. ( I can't do this consistently myself)

3. Don't Forget the Grand Hub if you are Crown Hunting Burst Arrowana, Bomb Arrowana, Whetfish, gravid bowfin. Found Bomb Arrowana crown there.

4. Idk if Kanya Quest accepts gravid bowfin from the hub or not. Anyone please verify, as I already finished the quest
