Hey there, mates
A lot of people seem to experience the issue in Act 3 where they get hardlocked: you get to the Mystic, you get the quest to destroy three shrines, and as you do, nothing happens, the city is still closed with barriers, and the Mystic doesn't say anything, just opening the trade window.

Well, today I will guide you through how to get yourself unstuck and continue on with the game.
What you'll miss
You shall miss the plot twist where the Mystic becomes hostile and attacks the player.
Characters in the city will comment on you killing him, but he will stay in the oasis as a trader in your game forever. You will also have the quest "Sand and Water" stuck unfinished in your journal forever. As far as i know, this does not influence your progress in the game.
What you'll need
Unfortunately, you cannot do this fair or through in-game exploits, like jumping or dying underwater as the earlier guide suggested. You will need:

Cheat Engine.
What is Cheat Engine? It is a free and safe program that allows you to change certain values in the game as you play. It acts like a trainer or console cheats with extra steps. I can assume that, since you're reading this part, you have never used it, and let me assure you, this would look scary, but is actually very easy, and I'll guide you through it: it will be as simple as opening the program and making less then ten clicks, and you don't have to learn Cheat Engine at all (unless you want to: then go for it). You can find it here[www.cheatengine.org].

GRAVEN cheat table by Akira.
You can find it at fearlessrevolution forums over here[fearlessrevolution.com] - or alternatively, here is the direct download link[fearlessrevolution.com] (I suggest using the former, though). Note: you don't need any cheat table for the game - you need that exact specific one!

Once you download both, install Cheat Engine as you would any .exe, and you're good to start.

For all the cheat engine pros out there: bear with me, since I shall be guiding this for people who might've never used this program before to make things easier for them, so, please, be nice.
What to do
Step 1:
Open your game.

Step 2:
Switch away from the game (alt+tab), and open the cheat table you downloaded before (called Praest-Win64-Shipping_v1.0).

Step 3:
Click the "select a process to open" window on top left that looks like a monitor with a magnifying glass.

Step 4:
Click on GRAVEN process - it should be called a string of numbers, and then "Praest", and have the GRAVEN logo on the left.

Step 5:
Click "open". When asked if you want to keep the current address/code list, click "Yes".

Step 6:
Down among the different coloured texts with the boxes, find the text that says "Activation" (pink one) and click the box to the left of it. This will open a few new options.

Step 7:
Among those options, find the text that says "Scripts", and click the box to the left of it. It will open even more options.

Step 8:
Among those options, find the text that says "Inf. Jumps", and click the box to the left of it. It will turn the text green. Just in case, also click "God Mode".

Step 9:
Go back to your game, and load your last save. You should appear at the crossroads.

Step 10:
You need to go back up from where you originally came from after destroying the altars. While you can go around, you can also use your newly obtained cheat, and start spamming jump button. Every new jump will be placed on top of the older one, making you fly up.

Step 11:
You will land in front of one of the barriers. Come closer to it, and start spamming jump again while moving forward. You need to fly high. You shall hit an invisible wall, but don't get distraught - keep spamming the button, keep jumping. Eventually, the invisible wall will give way, and you shall appear on the other side of the gate, plummeting down. Before you hit the ground, hit jump again to avoid damage, or don't do anything if you activated God Mode from your Cheat Engine table, and just plummet down. You'll need to go about this high:

Step 12:
You are on the other side of the gate, but oh no, the area looks unfinished and barren! Don't be alarmed. In this game, the assets load as you reach checkpoints, so what you have to do is find the next checkpoint to load everything missing. Keep moving forward and to the left. Eventually, the area will load.

Step 13:
Now, you have to make sure the barrier behind you stays down. For this, you need to start the next main quest. To do that, go to the swan statue to your left.

Step 14:

After that, go up the stairs - you will see a hedge. Go to the other side of it.

Step 15:
Behind the hedge there will be a grey altar. Head over to it.

Step 16:
On the other side of this altar there is an NPC in the robes - this is your goal.

Step 17:
The NPC is called the Bishop - talk to him, and in the end of a rather lengthy conversation he will give you a new quest. With that quest, the barriers around town will fall, and you can proceed with the game.

Step 18:
Now, I'm not here to tell you how to play your game, but if you want to proceed without any cheats, reach a checkpoint, close the game, quit your Cheat Engine, and forget about it. You can now start the game again and continue playing it fairly. But if you want to play with cheats on - have fun too.
Why not use noclip/ghostmode?
There is an option in that cheat table for Ghost Mode. Why not use that instead, and go through all the trouble with jumps?

Well, ghost mode removes both collision and physics for all the actors in the game. However, when turned off, it only turns on the physics, but not collision, a.k.a., you will fall, but not land onto anything at all. That means, while you will be able to traverse the map itself, when you turn off the cheat, you will still fall through all the geometry. More importantly, all of the other actors would fall though it as well, making the Bishop plummet down through the ground into the abyss. More importantly, this option removes the ability to interact with the world around you, including talking to NPCs (which would be hard to begin with, as he will be constantly falling).

So, unfortunately, to avoid this game breaking bug, you will have to do jumps and parkour your way into the city. And don't use Ghost Mode for anything unless you're ready to quit and reload, since it breaks the game!
