Description
Sometimes often some people get the error "D3DERR_INVALIDCALL" when launching Dead Rising 2.
This error can occur for 3 reasons:
1. The game is not installed on the main storage device where Steam or Windows is located.
2. Missing DirectX End-User Runtime Web Version 9.29.1974.1.
3. Problem with sound settings in Windows.

But basically the error appears because the game is not installed on the main storage device.
Solution for this Error
- Install the game on the main storage device, that is, where Windows and Steam are installed.
- Download and Install DirectX End-User Runtime Web Ver 9.29.1974.1 [www.microsoft.com]
- Hover over the Taskbar icon with the sound, right click and select under "Sounds", then select the "Payback" tab and select your primary/current sound usage, right click and click on "Properties", then "Advanced" and select 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality).
