I guess we've all seen the types of classes in the game, always starting with skills, so let's see which ones are best for each type of player.

Knowing What We Want to Be
(First of all I want to clarify that this is aimed at players with low experience)

If you are a player with a relaxed style of play or casually, I don't think combat is for you. It is difficult at first and unfair even in "High Fantasy" mode. On the other hand, if you are a more focused player, things are more flexible and more open.

From my experience, I believe there are 4 different types of players.

Casual Players

Tryhard Players ("the most focused")

Average Players

Pacifist Players

Pacifists do not seek combat, they generally seek a more relaxed game on lower difficulties or are players who do not care about combat mechanics.

Average players are looking for an average gaming experience but mostly to enjoy themselves while playing.

Tryhards; Players looking to focus on grinding and thriving within the game, or players who have a lot of free time and nothing better to do than focus on the game and their community (me)

Casual players: Players who are looking to have fun rather than the suffering that may occur within the game, or who have little time available due to things like work or studies.

Once you know which one you are, we can continue with the next section.

What is the best class?
It's not really as easy as saying, "This is the best class" or "This class is good for everything" since all classes in the game are fairly balanced, at least at the time of publishing this guide (May 1, 2025) in full Early Access.

The best thing you can do is find a class that suits your playstyle, whether it's Casual, Average, Tryhard, or Pacifist.

We have Classes for absolutely everything in the Character Creation Menu:

A skill table sufficient to satisfy any type of player and a mod community large enough to make the game more enjoyable.

We have things like Construction and Carpentry for those who would like to create settlements. Axe Fighting, Sword Fighting, and Mace Fighting are some of the ones that allow us to do melee combat. Cryomancy and Electromancy mods aside from Hunting for ranged attacks. Tailoring, Weaponsmithing, and Armorsmithing are for those who love crafting items and armor. and much more...

So if you are a casual player you should go for ranged attacks to avoid having a "casual death" lol

If you are a pacifist player then building and crafting is your thing.

If you are Tryhard you will surely love skills like Axe Fighting or combat and exploration oriented skills like Adventuring

And if you are an average player I recommend a mix of all of them

What is absolutely necessary if you do not have resources like water or you want to settle in a certain area is Adventuring, since it allows you to spawn with a container that can hold water, specifically 150 units of it, which has saved me from many, especially in large territories without rivers.

It goes without saying that the Race also depends on your style of play:

Elves and Dwarves are more suited to prolonged play styles that require finesse combined with skill and knowledge, However, if you want a more casual style, I recommend any class such as Humans, Orcs and Hyenas.

if you are new I do not recommend playing the game hoping not to die on the first try, you will die many times and many times you will see the game as unfair regardless of the difficulty, but it is part of the process

Once you learn how the game feels to you in your first games and get your bearings, you will know what type of player you are and what type of class you want.
