What You Will Need and Overview
A few things that are required to get this working. You will need SteamEdit for this. SteamEdit will allow us to direct the game to run the sourceport directly, instead of running a .bat that runs DOSBOX. [steamedit.tg-software.com] Put it wherever you see fit.

Next, you will need BuildGDX. As far as I am aware, this is the only source port that will work with Witchaven. [m210.duke4.net]

Go ahead and download the latest release, and extract to Wherever Whichaven is installed \steamapps\common\Witchaven\Enhanced (Example: E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Witchaven\Enhanced)

Next, open SteamEdit and tick the Dropdown menu and look for Witchaven. Then, select Edit Game.

You will then be prompted with this window. You have two options how you can proceed:

You can do what I did, which was replaced the Enhanced launch option with BuildGDX.exe, or you can create your own launch option entirely if you would like to keep the Enhanced DOSBOX version available by selecting Add New at the bottom. I would label it as something like, Launch BuildGDX and the same directory, Enhanced\BuildGDX.EXE. Once you save these options, Steam will restart.

Then, go ahead and either launch Witchaven, and select the replaced option, or the new one you just created.

You should see this window launch. Click on Witchaven, and direct it to where your game is, and then select Play Witchaven.

Playtime will now be tracked! But to get Steam Overlay to work, you will need to change your renderer. Go to Video Options in Settings, and select PolyGDX as your renderer. (Polymost will work as well, but I was getting minor graphical glitches during playtime.)

Just a heads up that the Classic renderer will not support Steam Overlay.

And you're done!

Will I get banned for using Steam Edit? I really doubt it. I have been using SteamEdit for years without issues. Can I say 100% you won't? No, because I don't know. But I have a 99.9% certainty that you can use this software without issues, just like achievement manipulating software.

Also, keep in mind that every time a game gets updated, these SteamEdit sections will be reset. But I don't see Witchaven getting updated ever again, so if it even does, it'll take a few minutes at best.

And there you go! I hope this guide will help someone.
