Step 1: Downloading the BOIII client
Now don't worry! I know this sounds overwhelming and scary, but it's not. BOIII and the additional files we'll download are incredibly safe and will take you less than 10 minutes, but I understand that for first-timers, downloading stuff like this can be A LOT. Rest assured, you're in safe hands.

Head to the Insanux[insanux.com] website, this is where we will download the mod.

Scroll down and click on these links to download them. We will need both.

Once both these files have been downloaded, extract the content of both these files into the _Plugin folder located in your Black Ops 3's game directory. This can be accessed by going to D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops III\_Plugins OR by heading to the game's page in your library and following the instructions in the photos below. If you do not have this folder then simply create a new one with the same name.

Once the contents of both files have been extracted into this folder, we can now move onto the next step as we're pretty much done!
Step 2: Setting up the BOIII Client
Firstly, double click and open BO3GameLauncher.exe, this is a custom launcher that will still activate your steam version of the game so don't worry all your hours will still be tracked, but it has the ability to load .dll files that will allow us to rank up in custom zombie maps.

Once it's opened it will look something like this,

Here you can add your own username that will show up when playing BO3 and a password for extra security. I STRONGLY advise you to set a name that is different to your Steam name as even though BO3 is fairly safe nowadays and we'll also have the safety of the T7 patch, you can never be too careful.

Once you have set up your name and password, click on the little cog icon and you will be met with a new window titled PLUGINS

Once here, simply click on the Friends Only checkbox for added security then click on the + symbol. What this will do is allow us to add .dll files that the launcher can load when we boot up Black Ops 3, the specific files you should click on and load are BO3-Modded-Ranked.dll, t7patch.dll, and zbr2.dll.

It will look like this when done correctly.

What are these files?

Well the BO3-Modded-Ranked.dll is the main component and essentially tells BO3 that there are in fact no mods installed so when it runs it's 'mod check'.

The t7patch.dll is an incredible patch made by Serious that not only protects your account from other users who might try to exploit or hack you, but also fixes a lot of bugs and performance issues present in the game and is a MUST HAVE when playing BO3 zombies online, even in Solo games.

I'm going to be honest, I have no idea what zbr2.dll is or what it does but both the official written mod guide and mod video guide also installed it and I'm not going to question people who are smarter than me.

Now just click the X button to close out of the PLUGINS window, and VOILA you're done!

All you need to do now is click Play Black Ops 3 Zombies and you're good to go!

Step 3: Launching the game and extra QoL improvements.
Moving forward, this is how you'll have to launch BO3. If you use the Launch button from the Steam game page directly it will not load any of the necessary .dlls and you won't be able to earn xp once the game detects mods or custom maps.
I know, it sucks. But we have to work with what we've got, and what we've got is pretty phenomenal all things considered.

To make this easier and less of a hassle, when your new Launcher is running just right click on it and Pin to Taskbar, that's what I've done and it makes launching BO3 100x easier. Your chosen username, password, and the loaded .dlls are all saved too so you don't have to worry about going through that process any time you want to slay some maggot-addicts.

For even more QoL fixes, go to the BO3 Steam library page, click on the cog icon again and click on properties once more, pictured below

Now where it says Launch Paramaters, copy and paste the text;
+set fs_game usermaps
This will automatically load all of your custom maps so you don't have to go through any additional loading screens when accessing them.

This allows you to earn the 'official' Black Ops 3 levels and XP with any base and custom map.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS IN COMPETITIVE PLAY
I am making this guide for Solo Zombie use, NOT so you can load mods and play PvP modes or join randoms and force your mods onto them.

Finally, there is no guarantee that this won't get you banned from BO3. Yes you'll be using it exclusively in a Solo PvE game mode, but at the end of the day it's up to Activision's discretion and if they decide they don't want this on here then I'll delete it ASAP.

Why specify "(without UEM)"?
Well, I love UEM. I think it is genuine wizardry and that mod alone is worth purchasing Black Ops 3 at full price. But because of how extensive and incredible it is, it's compatibility with maps is very hit or miss and the list of fully compatible maps is missing some that I love to play.

PLEASE I beg you to download UEM and support the creator as it's a work of art and this is in no way meant to be disrespectful, I just wanted to offer people an alternative.

Lastly, HUGE thanks to Baldy09, InsaneCallum, and Serious for their incredible work and for giving this community one of the single greatest pieces of user created content. Please go and support them!

In conclusion, have fun and be excellent to each other. <3
