Intro
If you and your friend want to enjoy Lords of the Fallen together—progressing through the story and taking down enemies side by side—the new 2.0 Shared Progression feature makes this possible. However, the game doesn’t explain the setup process very clearly.

Follow these steps to get started properly:
Step 1: Set the Same Session Password
  • Go to the Settings menu.
  • Navigate to the Multiplayer tab.
  • Scroll to the bottom and locate the “Session Password” field.
  • Both you and your friend must enter the exact same password.
  • The Password doesn't get saved so you have to add it every time you launch the game

⚠️ If your passwords don’t match, you won’t be able to connect—and a random player might join instead.

Step 2: Start a New Campaign Together
You and your friend must both start a brand new campaign. Progress through the intro/tutorial until you reach the first Vestige, named:

Vestige of Ranik

This is your first checkpoint, and it’s essential for unlocking multiplayer functionality.

First Vestige
Step 3: Activate the Vestige and Open the Multiplayer Menu
Once you've activated the Vestige of Ranik, a small UI will appear on the left side of the screen.

Multiplayer Prompt

Now, both players should:

  • Click on the Multiplayer tab.
  • You'll see five new multiplayer options:
    • Beckon Player
    • Beckon Friend
    • Join Session
    • Join Session (Shared Progression)
    • Slaughter Lampbearer

Multiplayer Options
Step 4: Connect Using Shared Progression
  • The host of the session should click on Beckon Player.
  • The guest (your friend) should click on Join Session (Shared Progression).

When the guest clicks to join:
  • A pop-up will appear — click OK.
  • You'll be asked if you'd like to create a backup before joining.
  • → Choose Yes or No — it's up to you.

⚠️ If you and your friend have been playing the game without using Shared Progression mode, please ensure that both of you have defeated the same number of bosses—or at most, that one player has defeated only one more boss than the other. If the difference in boss progression is greater than one, the connection will not work.

Beckon Player/Join Session
Step 5: Wait for the Connection
Once both players have clicked their respective options, the buttons will change to:

🔄 “Stop Matchmaking” with a loading icon.

Now, just be patient — the connection may take a little time. As long as both players entered the same password and reached the Vestige of Ranik, your sessions will sync, and you’ll be connected in Shared Progression mode.

@Lord Lowdar you.. don't.
Co-Op is only for 2, however multiplayer sessions can have 3 due to invaders.

Shared Progression Co-op broken. My ally is no longer receiving quest items. Rewards for quests.

@HIARCS, if you and your friend have defeated the same amount of bosses or if you have defeated 7 and your friend has defeated 6 it should work, but if the difference between bosses is more than 1 between each of you it wont work. I will be a updating the guide with this information as well
