Seattle Day 1 Codes:
Main Gate is 0512.

East 2 is 5345.
North 0 is 1382.
Tunnel Door is 15243.

The Last of Us Part II isn’t packed with "classic" puzzles like Resident Evil, but it does have a few key puzzle moments that stand out because of how they tie into exploration, environmental interaction.

Other Tips and Puzzle Solutions:
Tip #1. The first gas tank you visit, regardless of the location, will always be empty.
Tip #2. You can't avoid hitting the landmine with the horse as Ellie.
Tip #3. When doing the moving dumpster puzzles as Ellie, turning it sideways is slightly easier than pushing it forward. During the second dumpster puzzle in Hillcrest, place the dumpster on the side rather than trying to push it up the incline.
Tip #4. On the way to the hospital to find Nora, one of the collectibles is on a runner inside a restaurant.
Tip #5. On the way to find Nora, you can't avoid being ambushed by rogue WLF soldiers at the crafting table — unless you skip interacting with the table entirely. However, skipping it will prevent you from accessing the contents of the room they're hiding in.
Tip #6. When moving through the dark building filled with sneaky infected (on the way to Nora), if you stay on the far left side and keep moving forward, you'll usually avoid detection. You can toss a brick or bottle to the far right to create a distraction. (Note: On Survivor/Grounded, enemies have extended sight cones.) You can't avoid being pushed in the river, however.
Tip #7. On Ellie Day 3, you cannot avoid fighting the arcade bloater.
Tip #8. On Abby Day 1, after leaving the FOB but before leaving Manny behind to search for Owen, you can find one of Manny’s "love" dens in a building near the FOB. It’s a very brief, highly missable little room.
Tip #9. Throughout the game, there are selective spots where you’ll try to open a door in the general direction of progress, only to find it locked. You don’t need to attempt these if there’s an inevitable workaround nearby — just use the workaround and keep moving.
Tip #10. Bottles and bricks are useful for more than just distractions. You can use them as melee weapons to knock an enemy into the "fatal hit" zone. Normally, when you strike an enemy, they’ll take a blow and usually counterattack. But in a stunned state (knee shots, stunning shots, etc.), you skip straight to the fatal opportunity. Bricks and bottles are basically free 1-hit kill opportunities.

Weapons

This section covers all weapons found in The Last of Us Part II, including their locations and unlock methods, to help you complete your arsenal during your playthrough.
  • If you miss a holster (e.g., the Long Gun Holster for Ellie in Capitol Hill), you can still find it later.
  • If you miss the Stun Bomb in the Pet Store, Ellie will learn how to craft it shortly afterward—usually during a scripted encounter or crafting bench interaction.
  • If you miss a major weapon (like the Pump Shotgun, Crossbow, etc.), the game will place it in more obvious, unmissable locations later in the same or following chapters.

Weapons not acquired by default must be found through exploration.
Some are hidden behind story progression, optional safes, or side areas you can miss if you rush forward.
Always search carefully, check locked rooms, safes, and branching paths to find non-starting weapons before moving to the next major area.

Pump Shotgun:
Found in the Westlake Bank Vault during Ellie’s Seattle Day 1.
Break the glass doors of the bank, fight infected inside, and unlock the vault using the code 60-23-06.
Missable.

Stun Bomb:
On Ellie, Day 1 roaming with Dina in Seattle, if you head to the end of the street just past the Courthouse, you'll find a coffee shop you can enter by breaking a window. In this building, in the bathroom on the changing station you'll find a key with a large cartoonish dog bone on it. Progress back down the street past the courthouse and proceed through an alley on the left to enter the Pet Store. This former pet store was once a resistance station for the W.L.F. long ago, and you can find the Stun Bomb in the back right corner, straight ahead from the door you enter from.
Missable.

Long Gun Holster:
On Ellie, Day 1 In the same building (pet store), if you turn around and enter the small room around the corner, you'll find the rifle strap on the counter.
Missable.

Trip Mine:
On Ellie, Day 1 after the school escape with Dina and you're heading through the outdoor apartments. After an apartment complex open parking lot, you'll see a lone dumpster sitting idly behind a fence on the right side. Move the dumpster to the balcony just under the open window. In the back bedroom on the left side (the bed with red/white sheets), you'll find the Trip Mine.
Missable.

Short Gun holster:
On Ellie, Day 2 in Hillcrest. When you see the GoldStar Liquor Store (looks like the Hardee's logo almost), it's kinda difficult to miss. Head into the white building labelled "Velvet Tattoos" across from it and proceed to the back alley. Move the dumpster behind the chain-link fence and kill the 6 or so infected in that room. Open the safe using code 30-82-65. The holster is in the safe.
Missable.

Bow:
Obtained in Hillcrest during Ellie’s Seattle Day 2.
Defeat a WLF soldier who attacks you — the bow is taken from their body automatically.
Unmissable.

Abby's Weapons:

Pistol Suppressor/Silencer:
To obtain the ability to craft silencers, Abby needs to find and read the "Stealth Training Manual" during Seattle Day 1: The Coast chapter. When the crank for the shutter breaks, boost Mel up to the second floor and head upstairs. Take the ladder from the balcony and use it as a bridge to reach the sailboat in the middle of the garage. Abby’s Stealth Training Manual is on a table inside the cabin.

Pipebomb Recipe:
This happens specifically when she reaches the hardware store and notices materials on a trolley that can be used to craft one, as indicated by Manny's comment.

Hunting Pistol:
On Abby Day 1, after exiting from the boat workshop, drop down and you'll see a smaller building on the left and a larger one on the right. Stick to the right side and enter the bigger building through a crack by the palettes—then open the safe using code 17-38-07 to grab it.
Missable.

Double Barrel Shotgun:
On Abby Day 1, you'll need to go through a building called the Ruby Dragon on the left side of the commercial street. (The street will be a small, linear street of shops.) Head up the stairs, and sneak past two clickers before jumping across the street to the other building. Once you drop down into the antique shop, you'll be attacked by a Runner. Once it's dead, head behind the counter for the Double Barrel Shotgun.
Missable.

Short Gun Holster:
Shortly after you've grabbed the shotgun, when you come to the van that's a Seraphites shrine, head into the building to the immediate right—in the back room you'll find a gun holster on a table.
Missable.

Long Gun Holster:
On Abby Day 1, in "The Coast": once you've ensured Lev and Yara are safe from the Seraphites and infected, head through the next building. In the room you need to climb onto to jump out of the upper window, you'll find the Long Gun Holster.
Missable.

Crossbow:
Acquired automatically while progressing through the shipwreck during Abby’s Seattle Day 2 ("The Coast").
You pick it up from a body inside the ferry during story progression.
Unmissable.

Flamethrower:
Found during Abby’s Seattle Day 2 ("The Descent") in the Hotel BlacRay (or "sky bridge building").
After ensuring Lev has a gas mask a bit into the level, you can find the Flamethrower on in a bathroom on one of the lower levels of the hotel as you descend through it. You'll have to cross a couple narrow beams and crouch-walk through a hole. Be very thorough and don't progress too hastily.
Missable.

Thank you for reading my guide on The Last of Us Part II!
I hope it helped you in your pursuit of revenge.
I’ve earned all the achievements in The Last of Us Part I and Part II over five times, so I wanted to compress some of that experience into a short, helpful guide.

If you found this guide useful, consider giving it a like and an award so other survivors can find it too!
