🩸 Should you become a Vampire?
For most players, it generally isn't the best idea. It gives a lot of decent pros but with pretty costly cons. In Oblivion, the gimmick of vampirism is the longer you don't feed, the more powerful you come with more and more cost.

The two most significant drawbacks in my opinion are: Sun Damage,[en.uesp.net] and NPC's refusing to interact with your Player Character when you're at Stage 4 or sometimes sooner.

I mostly see making this decision as a roleplay choice. For any sort of morally good character I wouldn't ever make that choice. You have to feed EXTREMELY frequently for the game to be playable with it's buffs; as well as that, you cannot feed on animals or dead people as non-TES Vampires sometimes can.

If you're still unsure, read the rest of my guide, or go to the "All Stages Compared' section!

FYI: This can 100% be a "I ruined my save file" issue. If you cannot handle feeding and hiding from the sun, do not be a Vampire.
🩸 Vampire Mods
This WILL Update in the Future. Barely any mods in general are out for this game, so I'm shocked I'm able to put any on this list. Let me know if any are missing! (Or if one is in progress!)

FYI: I'm only checking on Nexus. If any other popular modding forums become popular for Oblivion Remastered (and I trust them enough), I'll add them here too.

I WILL sort this into Categories if this Guide get's enough support!

🩸 How to Become a Vampire?
The most simple way is to go to Fort Carmala[elderscrolls.fandom.com] and walk straight inside. There is 1-2 Vampires right there, just let them hit you a few times. Then just wait 3 days and sleep.

🩸 How to Get Rid Of Vampirism?
The MOST easy way is to get rid of it before it's even born. While you have Porphyric Hemophilia you can be cured at an altar, with a Cure Disease potion or through a Cure Disease Spell.

Alternatively, if you are a full Vampire:

Added through the DLC, The Vile Lair, this magic fountain cures vampirism instantly upon activation. The Font is located in Deepscorn Hollow.
🩸 Hunters' Sight | Stage 1

Stage One is the Default Stage of any Vampire. This Stage has the Hunter's Sight[elderscrolls.fandom.com] Ability. which once a day gives you Night-Eye for 30 Seconds, as well as Detect Life from 100 feet away.

🩸Reign of Terror | Stage 3

Stage 3 is when you start to become pretty powerful, although strictly at night now. You take 4 damage per second under Sun now. You gain Reign of Terror,[elderscrolls.fandom.com] a spell that gives
Silence [elderscrolls.fandom.com]for enemies 20ft & Demoralize [elderscrolls.fandom.com]up to lvl 6 for 60 seconds on Touch. This is mainly for dungeon-crawling, although this is the time you should start trying to feed.

🩸Embrace of Shadows | Stage 4
Stage 4 Vampires are extremely stealthy, as they have Embrace of Shadows. Gives 8pts of Sun Damage per Second. [elderscrolls.fandom.com] Mostly used to break into a house and revert to Stage 1 without much issue. It gives Night-Eye for 60 Seconds, and Invisibility for 180. Be wary it DOES go away when doing anything that needs interaction.

There might be an old fix that will work if you look at the GOTY (2009)'s discussions around the internet. But I have no idea where that would be found. Modding fixed everything with the old game.

I'd look at forums if that is the case, or report it to Bethesda/Virtuos and explain what is happening. If you know where the log files are then they could answer a lot faster. I'd also recommend giving them the deets of your Hardware (Processor type, gpu, and motherboard being the big three). Though it would be even faster in the forums for this game in discussions on their main website.

sadly it dosent work is there some code i can dump into the comand prompt to force it?

It was buggy until Shivering Isles came out. Chances are that the bug was reborn when they mixed the engines for this Remaster. I'd recommend Quicksaving then Hard Saving, exiting the game, and seeing if loading the Hard Save fixes it, but that's the only thing that worked. From what I recall anyways.

(The Unofficial Patch fixed it completely, but the port for that is even more buggy than the base game, from what I've heard.)

I've seen a few ports as well, and I agree. They need to be reworked, since UE5 is the Primary Engine for it, they don't mesh very well. If it weren't for the fact that Bethesda, now owned by Microsoft, does not support mods (which kept the original alive) then many of the long-time modders would step in a bit faster.

We can only wait and see.

I honestly have to question what Todd was thinking when he sold out. But the community will find a way. They always do. lol
LYCXNWOLF  [author] 1 May @ 1:53pm
@Methos-Kyuubi777 Definitely. I always enjoyed it just for the roleplay aspect, but if you're someone who isn't purposely choosing to (for the consequences & benefits) it's definitely a hassle. Sometimes even if you choose to be.

I've seen quite a bit of ported mods so far, although most of them definitely need to be reworked for the Remaster.

I'd definitely wait a while for the really good mods to come out, as the community is increasing by a ton. (So I'm assuming the modding community will too, although with Unreal Engine 5 being the engine as well as not having official mod support may offput a few).

Better Vampires would be amazing for this game. Really hope someone works on an idea similar to that.

Personally, being a Vampire in Oblivion was always a chore, until the mod LTD Vampire Overhaul was released for the O-GOTY game. It can supposedly be ported over, but I would rather someone just rework it for Remastered.

I'd love to see a decent Vampire Overhaul, like Better Vampires for Skyrim in this game. I plan on checking Nexus regularly for Vampire Mods.
