NVIDIA DLSS
1. open the NVIDIA App on your PC and navigate to Graphics - Global Settings

NVIDIA Frame Generation RTX 20/30 GTX 9XX/10XX/16XX
if you just want and easy drag and drop version there's a simpler Optional option below, but with significantly more input lag and poorer quality.

DISCLAIMER: This is an unofficial modification for DLSS Frame Generation. If you have any concerns, please inform yourself first and use it at your own risk.

to ensure OptiScaler works properly, you need to have the game in Windowed Fullscreen mode

1. make sure you have Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling activated under "Graphics Settings" - "Advanced Graphics Settings" in Windows Settings

2. download the newest preview version of OptiScaler here:
https://archive.org/details/optiscaler-0.9.0-pre-3-20250911.-7z

(you could also use the official discord to get the newest preview versions with official uploads)
https://discord.gg/2JDHx6kcXB

3. unzip Optiscaler_0.9.0-pre320250911.7z and copy these files:

4. navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64 and paste the copied files:

5. rename OptiScaler.dll into dxgi.dll

6. start Oblivion and press "Insert" on your keyboard to open the OptiScaler Menu

7. navigate to Frame Generation in the OptiScaler Menu and select "DLSSG via Streamline" for FG Source and "XeFG" for FG Output and activate Auto Exposure

8. click on Save INI and Close at the bottom and RESTART your game

9. turn DLSS Frame Generation on and Apply Changes afterwards open the OptiScaler Menu and set Frame Generation (XeFG) to active

10. click on Save INI and Close

you are now using DLSS Upscaling + XeSS Frame Generation + XeLL

Optional

https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738?tab=files

2. extract and copy following files from the downloaded .zip into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64:

3. start Oblivion and turn Frame Generation on

you are now using DLSS Upscaling + FSR Frame Generation at the same time
NVIDIA G-SYNC
1. press the windows key on your keyboard and search for “Graphics settings”

2. make sure following options are activated:

@Spiritual Scientist hm have you installed mods by any chance? usually the error that you posted indicates that the plugin.txt is faulty and not essential that something is wrong with your DLSS configuration. but I could also be wrong.

check whether your loadorder in plugin.txt looks like this:

Oblivion.esm
DLCBattlehornCastle.esp
DLCFrostcrag.esp
DLCHorseArmor.esp
DLCMehrunesRazor.esp
DLCOrrery.esp
DLCShiveringIsles.esp
DLCSpellTomes.esp
DLCThievesDen.esp
DLCVileLair.esp
Knights.esp
AltarESPMain.esp
AltarDeluxe.esp
AltarESPLocal.esp

if all this does not help i would delete the plugin.txt file and verify files at steam

This is fantastic. It removes all blur!

It seems like enabling frame generation and preset k or super resolution really tanks FPS instead of helping it's really noticeable in a loading screens cuz it stutters

I did force Auto Exposure on but I still have a ton of ghosting at night. Hmmm.

@TwistJackMachine hm i would recommend that you first do a clean reinstallation of your driver with DDU: https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/

here is video how to do that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98DAgw1KcmI

and then i would suggest you try the method with the nvidiaprofileinspector

also make sure that dlss is activated ingame and the quality level is set to your preference.

DLSS is a waste of time if you are not on a 4k series or 5k series.

the nvidia way has tanked my fps by updating and messing with my drivers. i went from 60 to stuttering at sub 20 fps. no idea how to rectify the situation

If you force DLSS Auto Exposure ON, it significantly reduces ghosting in dark areas.
