How to avoid animatronic attacks

So, I told myself I wasn't going to update this guide, but this guide is pretty obsolete and I made this when I was 12, now that I have a much better understanding of how the FNaF games work, I decided I should update this guide to contain... more useful information instead of my blabbing my opinion. So enjoy this updated guide
Toy Bonnie
Toy Bonnie will traverse the building, and will eventually reach the right vent. At some point, he will reach the spot in your vent, which can be seen with the light. Once you see him, all you have to do is put on the mask, wait for him to do his animation, and leave.
Toy Chica
Toy Chica acts similar to Toy Bonnie, she will traverse through the building, and end up in the left vent. Once you see her in the blind spot, simply put on the mask. Unlike Toy Bonnie however, she won't actually enter the room, you have to keep the mask on until you hear the vent sound effect. Quick note that even though she appears in the hallway in front, she will not attack from the hallway, she will only attack from the vent.
Mangle
Mangle acts similar to Toy Bonnie, and takes a similar path that he does, Mangle will traverse through the pizzeria and end up in your right vent. When she's there, you have to put the mask on until he goes away. There is a cool little trick to Mangle however. Mangle has an ear-piercing static noise that she will emit in whichever camera you are looking at. This also applies to your room however, so if you ever heard the static noise in the room, that means that hes in the blind spot, and you must put on the mask until the static noise is gone. If you let her in the room, she won't jumpscare you immediately, but she will sit on the roof and can attack any time you put the camera back down.
Balloon Boy
Balloon boy can't be detected in the cameras, until he reaches the left air vent. Once he's in your blind spot, you have to put on the mask until he goes away. If you put the camera when he's still there, he will disable your flashlight for the rest of the night. which will leave you powerless against Foxy.
The Puppet
The Puppet has a music box that needs to be wound, which can be found on Camera 11. This is really the only camera you need to be on regardless of the night you are on. On the later nights, the music box will wind down faster, and will require more attention. If the music box has no wind, then the puppet will begin to rise from its box, and a red exclamation point will appear next to the camera. You will be fine if you let the box have no wind, however, If its unwound for too long, the puppet will eventually leave, and once it leaves, you are pretty much dead.
Withered Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Toy Freddy


These 4 are all grouped together because their ways of attacking are all the same. They will approach on either vent (Bonnie/Chica), or in the hallway (Withered and Toy Freddy). Once they reach into your office, they will wait until you put down your camera, or in rare occasions, force the camera down. At this point, you have to put the mask on in a short amount of time. If you fail to put the mask on quickly, or you don't put on the mask at all, then they will end your run.
Foxy
Foxy is relatively simple, flashing the light in the hallway will keep him at bay. In the earlier nights, he will go away almost instantly, however, on later nights, especially custom night, he will a force to be reckoned with. Just keep in mind that just because an animatronic like Toy Chica, or Toy Freddy is there, doesn't mean that Foxy isn't, so always flash the hallway unless you know for a certain that foxy isn't there. Just make sure you aren't staying in the cameras for too long, and you should be fine.
Golden Freddy
Golden Freddy is not a big threat in this game, as he only appears in Night 6 or 7. He can appear in either two locations: The Office, or the Hallway. If he appears in the office, then you have to put on the mask first. If you do anything else before putting on the mask, such as flashing the hallway, or checking a vent light, Golden Freddy will attack regardless if you put the mask on or not. If he appears in the Hallway, then do not flash the light. Keep the light off, pull up the camera, and pull it back down, and he will simply leave. Golden Freddy cannot appear until you put down the camera, in which he has a chance of appearing. Funnily enough, if no action is taken when he appears in the office, he will remain there until an action is taken.
Audio Cues
In-game, there are audio cues, and these audio cues signify that danger is near. These Audio cues will begin when either:
1) Any Animatronic enters Party Rooms 1 or 2 or
2) Foxy, Toy Freddy, or Withered Freddy enter the hallway
The one exception is Balloon Boy, he will not cause this audio cue himself, so be warned.
This audio cue is mostly used to actually start the night, because Foxy will almost always be the first animatronic that you see, so its a good sign to put down the camera, and flash the hallway.
Nights 1 and 2
These nights are pretty similar, you will really only have the toy animatronics attacking you, in which you just have to watch out with your vent blind spots as Toy Bonnie,Toy Chica, BB, and Mangle can attack you from there. Toy Freddy might attack, but the chances are pretty slim, so watch out for him if he does decide to attack. Also, Foxy does start attacking on night 2, so be weary.
Nights 3 and 4
These nights are also pretty similar, however, the roles are swapped, most of the toy animatronics won't attack, but the withered animatronics will start attacking. At this point, checking any other camera becomes pointless, so its in your best interest to only be on Cam 11 to wind the music box. Make sure not to stay on the camera too long as foxy will start lingering around longer. Also, whenever you are about to get off the camera, start getting into the habit of putting on the mask immediately after getting off the camera.
Night 5
Night 5 is the night when all animatronics are relatively active, so you have to keep watch on foxy, and wind up the box. At this point, you wanna put on the mask every time you lower the camera, and check the vent lights all the time, and flashing the hallway. Staying on the camera winding the box for too long can result in Foxy ending your run.
Night 6
Night 6 is similar to Night 5, however, the animatronics are a lot more aggressive, and Foxy and the Puppet become extremely prominent for the entire night. This is where a strategy gets developed:
1) Wind the box until the Audio Cue is heard
2) Put down the mask immediately after putting down the camera. (Golden Freddy activates this night) Regardless of whether animatronic attacks or not, you will take off the mask anyway.
3) Take off the mask, and continuously flash the hallway, regardless of who's there, UNLESS its Golden Freddy, then you will refrain from flashing the hallway.
4) Continue executing Step 3, while you flash the hallway, check the left air vent light, then the right air vent light, and one of two things can happen.
5a) If there is nobody in your vent lights, then go back to the camera and move on to step 6
5b) If there is somebody, then put on the mask for around 5 seconds until the vent crumple can heard, then repeat steps 3 and 4.
6) Go back to the camera, and wind the music box for exactly 6 ticks, then go back to step 2.

This strategy while the most optimal, will not always work. There are moments in Night 6 where the scenario is just unwinnable, as either Foxy can attack without warning, animatronics forcing you off the camera, leaving the music box unwound, or the vent animatronics simply not leaving. So if you fail, just try again and you eventually will win.

Tricks
There are some tricks that you can use to your advantage in this game, however, some of these tricks may not work, and can result in your death, so use these at your own risk.

Trick #1: If Toy Bonnie has recently attacked, then you can refrain from checking the right air vent light, as the only other animatronic that goes to the right air vent is Mangle, and Mangle has an audio you can hear when she is at the vent ready to attack. If Toy Bonnie hasn't attacked in a while though, then you have to be checking the right air vent.

Trick #2: Balloon Boy and Mangle CANNOT enter your office if they enter the vent light when you have the camera on. So if you hear mangle in the vent, she won't actually have the opportunity to get into your room unless you flip the camera down and back up again.

Trick #3: This trick can potentially get you killed, so use it at your own risk. This trick really only works on Night 6, or 10/20 mode. If Toy Bonnie or Toy Chica is in either vent, and you absolutely need to wind the music box, you can risk putting the camera, and winding it. If an animatronic such as Withered Bonnie or Chica enter the room, their attack will be cancelled, and they will successfully leave.
Easter eggs

Rare images of animatronics:
This is toy bonnie eyeless and can occur after death. Note: This is what they did in the first game with Bonnie via. Old bonnie

This is Freddy eyeless and can also occur after death or upon starting the game. It is unknown why this happens.

This is an eyeless (eye) foxy that can occur after the player is killed by foxy or the mangle.

The purple man in the SAVETHEM minigame can rarely appear. Once freddy gets to a room and the purple man appears theres no way of stopping it. Once making contact, the static will go Blue instead of Red and crash the player.

Metal endoskeleton: Many fans have seen a medal endoskeleton and have been claiming that its Golden freddys since Golden freddy is just made up of wires. This metal piece can be found in the prize corner and left air vent.

Surprisingly, the puppet itself has an hallucination. The puppet can sometimes be found in the main hall. But only if the puppet has left. (Sometimes not)

Death minigames
SAVETHEM.
This minigame, the player will control Freddy. Either spawning in the office, party room, or Parts/Service. The player can choose wether or not to follow the puppet, the game will still end in static. Sometimes the player will see Golden freddy with or without White Irisis. Very rarely a Player will encounter a Purple man that touches Freddy. If it does happen it will make Blue instead of red static, saying you cant in the bottom left corner, Then crash the game.

HELPTHEM.

In this game, the Player will control Freddy with a cake. Occasionaly 4 out of the 6 children are green. Then rest are red. The player will give cake to the children, And will also see a Crying child at the top. After a while a Purple car will pull up next to the Child. At this point the player will walk Slower and slower until the Child starts dying. Once hes crying even bigger, Freddy will be unable to move and watch the Children get annoyed. About when the Purple man leaves with his car, The puppet will jumpscare the player.
The point: It seems that Someone Must've been Playing the purple man. Heres how we can find out, The purple man had to be a animatronic. So heres what i found. It cant be Bonnie as of he has no big ears. That leaves us with 9. It couldnt be Freddy or chica. 5 Left. Foxy or mangle, no way. 3. BB Is totally out. That leaves us With Golden Freddy and The puppet. It is possible that The puppet Possessed the Phone guy as of the Puppet plays as a ghost in the GIVELIFE and SAVETHEM Minigame. Therefore, The puppet may have been the Person For the Missing Children Incident.
Golden Freddy may have also been responsible. Golden freddy is just an Hallucination. but the Thought may have had the Phone guy to have some sort of possession while thinking about this. This is just a thought. Dont offend me over this.

GIVELIFE.
This minigame, The player will play as the Puppet. The puppet will Give gifts to what appears to seem 4 Children. After a while the Gifts will disappear. After that, They will Give life. After the Fourth one, Golden Freddy will jumpscare the player.
The point: This is more proof that The puppet may have been responsible for the Missing children incident. Watch carefully. There are 4 DEAD children lying. The puppet GIVES The souls back, But not just any souls, Souls that are Uncontrollable. THEN, HE GIVES BIRTH, Yes Thats how It sticks! The puppet Started it all from the start! He gives birth to the animatronics. But wait thats not all! A fifth corpse appears right after the player dies! Thats Golden Freddy. Bam The puppet is one of the main suspects of the murder. This is just a theory. Dont hate it

Foxy minigame.

The player will play as foxy. He will run towards to what seems a Party room, With 5 children. He will repeat this 2 times. On the third time The purple man appears. Once he reaches the room They have all died. Once foxy approaches, foxy will scare the player.
The point: Foxy had nothing to do with anything with the incident. Foxy was innocent. that proves in the First game. He was just checking the player! Thats means, Foxy was Innocent after all! He probaly was Responsible for the Bite. But its very unlikely he caused the Bite of '87. This is just a theory.

This Guide was made ages ago, so yes this information is very outdated. The Theories I made was before I watched Game Theories Videos on FNaF. I have played every single game after this one.
So please, stop commenting about wrong information, I am aware of it, but I will not change the guide in any way. Thanks for reading.
