A little heads-up!
The path to 100% completion in "Die in the Dungeon" may be rocky, but with the right expectations and a bit of patience, it is definitely achievable. Heed these introductory words to be optimally prepared.
  • Random-Element
Die in the Dungeon is heavily influenced by chance. Some achievements may be easier to obtain in one run than others. Don't give up!

  • Different Difficulties
Some achievements are specific to certain difficulty levels (at the time of this guide's creation, the highest level is "D6"). Make sure you are playing the correct mode.

  • Character Selection
Certain characters are better suited for specific achievements. Experiment, but read the tips for each success.

  • Patience and Repetition
Be prepared to start and end many runs. Failure is part of the learning process.

And finally ...
This is a category for unique or hard-to-categorize achievements.

I — Progression & Completion

Out of the Pond
Reach Area 2: The Monarch's Grove.

Pretty easy to achieve. Just play through the first area and defeat the boss to unlock this achievement.

Dance of the Lily Pads
Reach Area 3: The Dormant Palace.

This one is also fairly straightforward. Play through the second area and defeat the boss to get it.

Ribbiting Finale
Reach the final battle on Difficulty D1.

Once you have played through the first difficulty level, you will get access to difficulty D1. Play through all 3 areas and face the final boss of this difficulty level. You do not have to win this battle! The encounter is enough to get the achievement.

D1
Complete a run in D1 difficulty.

This achievement is basically the same as "Ribbiting Finale". The only difference to it is completing the run and defeating the final boss.

D2
Complete a run in D2 difficulty.

The same procedure applies for this achievement as for achievement D1.

D3
Complete a run in D3 difficulty.

The same procedure applies for this achievement as for achievement D1.

D4
Complete a run in D4 difficulty.

The same procedure applies for this achievement as for achievement D1.

D5
Complete a run in D5 difficulty.

The same procedure applies for this achievement as for achievement D1.

D6
Complete a run in D6 difficulty.

The same procedure applies for this achievement as for achievement D1.
Congrats! You just beat the final difficulty level!
(I'm writing this in March 2025)
II — Character-Specific

Nerotin Knight
Complete a run with Cinder.

Cinder is the little green knight who is unlocked from the start. It's best to complete a run on D0 difficulty, which is the quickest and easiest.

Fastest Alive
Complete a run with Lisver.

Lisver is the grey assassin. He is locked behind an event that can occur in Area 2. When you encounter the event, you will be faced with 2 options:

1. protect corpse: triggers an Elite Battle
2. ignore

Choose the first option and win the Elite Battle. After the run, you will be given access to Lisver so that you can complete a run with him.

A Knight's Honor
Protect the body.

This is the achievement that must be completed in order to unlock Lisver as a playable character.

Hammer Time
Complete a run with Mango.

Mango is the orange knight. He is locked behind the achievement "Ribbiting Finale". You will be giving access to Mango as soon as you get the achievement. So you better face the final boss on D0 before you pull out the big guns (Mango is overpowered, especially his second starting relic).

III— Challenges

Look Mom, No Heal!
Complete a run without using dice to heal.

The easiest way to unlock this achievement is to complete a run with Mango on D0 difficulty. Use his second relic to heal passively and avoid 2-Energy cost dice.

Tis But a Scratch
Complete a run in which your HP drops to 1 at least once.

It should be possible for you to get this achievement in the course of your playthrough. If this is not the case, let yourself be beaten to 1 HP in the first few battles on D0 difficulty and choose a path that brings you to a campfire relatively quickly. Again, if in doubt, Mango's second relic "Bento Box" can help with passive healing.

Bento Box

If you have 4 or more dice on the Board at the end of the turn, Heal +2 HP.

Unlocked after acquiring the achievement "Hammer Time". Afterwards, this Relic can only be obtained when selecting it at the start of a run with Mango.

Speedhopper
Complete a run in less than 40 minutes.

There are various ways to obtain this achievement. I personally completed a run with Mango on D0 difficulty and used terrain dice and mirror dice to try and deal a lot of damage quickly. It can help to avoid cubes with high energy costs.

Slippery When Wet
Win 3 battles without taking damage.

You should also unlock this achievement in the course of your playthrough without explicitly paying attention to it. If it is still pending, I recommend a build that targets shield dice. The relic "Building Blocks" might help you with this one.

Building Blocks

Block Dice reduce -1 their Energy cost.

The Building Blocks can be found on Treasure Tiles, in the Shop/Forge, and as a reward from Elite Battles.

Untouchabullfrog
Win 5 battles without taking damage.

The same rules apply to this achievement as to "Slippery When Wet".

No-hitter
Win 10 battles without taking damage.

The same rules apply to this achievement as to "Slippery When Wet" and "Untouchabullfrog".

A Knight's Honor
Protect the body.

This is the achievement that must be completed in order to unlock Lisver as a playable character.

No Strings Attached
Discard your initial relic.

Pretty simple. There is an event that can only be triggered in area 2, in which you have the choice to discard a relic and get a reward for it. Choose this answer and remove the relic your character started with.
IV — Combat-Related

Flyswattin'
Defeat your first enemy.

Just kill the fly my guy.

Winner Winner, Critter Dinner!
Defeat 100 total enemies.

Just kill the fly my guy. Or any other enemy. You will get there!

Natural 20
Deal 20 damage or more in one hit.

You will also complete this one naturally, without even paying attention to it.

Critical Roll
Deal 99 damage or more in one hit.

You should actually unlock this achievement without paying attention to it. If in doubt: Upgrade fields with terrain dice, place high damage dice on them and use mirror dice to multiply the damage.

FROGGERS
Deal 999 damage or more in one hit.

Once you have a build that theoretically keeps you alive indefinitely and lets you upgrade fields, you can simply play shield dice to absorb your damage and keep boosting a field until you manage to get to 999 damage. This can be a bit tedious, but should be the easiest way.

Two Bugs, One Dice
Defeat two enemies in a single turn.

We shouldn't worry about this achievement either. You'll get it without paying any attention to it.

Not So Accurate…
Defeat a Roachvil without an Accurate Kill..

These enemies appear in Area 2. Before a patch, you had to kill this enemy with an accurate kill. This means that you deal exactly the amount of damage to the opponent that he has left as life. If you dealt too much damage, he simply respawned and you had to try again (maximum 3 times). Meanwhile it doesn't matter and he gives you a debuff if you don't kill him accurately.

Quick Maths
Defeat a 25HP+ enemy with an Accurate Kill.

After a few runs you should get this achievement without paying specific attention to it. Other than that, it's pretty simple. You can do it.
V — Resources & Progression

A Penny for Your Croaks
Spend 100 or more total coins.

I am currently questioning whether I should even list such things here. Well, shop as much as you can!

Toadally Loaded
Spend 500 or more total coins.

Shopping intensifies!

Croakonomics
Spend 1000 or more total coins.

UNLIMITED CREDIT CARD DEBT!

[Au]mphibian
Upgrade a dice to Gold tier for the first time.

You can unlock this achievement by upgrading one of your already upgraded cubes at the Forge in Area 2.

Codexpedia Editor
Collect 20 or more relics in one run.

For this achievement, it can be helpful to visit as many Event Tiles and Unknown Tiles as possible. This will increase your chances of getting more relics. Pro tip: If you have the opportunity to get ‘Insect Repellent’. Definitely take it!

Insect Repellent

Unknown Tiles on the map cannot be battles anymore.

After acquiring the achievement D5, Insect Repellent can be found on Treasure Tiles, in the Shop/Forge, and as a reward from Elite Battles. This Relic can also be offered by the Collector.

I Know the Pieces Fit...
Fill all the slots in your board with dice.

This achievement should be easiest to achieve with Cinder, as his board only has 9 fields. The other two characters each have 10 fields. Try to choose dice with low energy costs.

Glass Cannon
Break 50 Glass dice or more in one run.

On D0 difficulty, try to take as many glass dice as possible from the combat rewards. If this is not enough for you, you can banish non-essential dice that are not made of glass on discard tiles.

Goliath Frog
Start a battle with 40 HP or more.

I chose Mango as the character for this achievement. Mango starts with 26 HP and has ‘Bento Box’ as his second relic. If you complete boss battles with full health, you can increase your HP by +3. The same applies to Campfire Tiles if you enter them with full life. If that's not enough, you could get lucky on Event Tiles and Unkown Tiles and trigger an event that offers you more maximum life.

Bento Box

If you have 4 or more dice on the Board at the end of the turn, Heal +2 HP.

Unlocked after acquiring the achievement "Hammer Time". Afterwards, this Relic can only be obtained when selecting it at the start of a run with Mango.
VI — Boss Defeats

Taste of Triumph
Defeat the Croissantpillar Chef.

This is one of the two different bosses in Area 1. Take your slice of the cake in his bakery.

Venomous Vendetta
Defeat the Scorpion Rider.

This is the second of the two bosses in Area 1. Be sure to stagger him to deal maximum damage.

Ruthless Regicide
Defeat the Queen Bee.

This is one of the two different bosses in Area 2. Keep in mind to use her Honey Dice from time to time.

Mantis Massacre
Defeat the Mantis Duo.

This is the second of the two bosses in Area 2. Who you should kill first depends entirely on your build. Read through the effects and decide wisely.

Bloodsucker’s Bane
Defeat the Mosquito Duke.

Ah, finally. The final boss. Kill him and make sure he doesn't cover your entire deck with his dice. Use his dice on your board every time you feel safe.
And finally ...

Die in the Dungeon
Die for the first time.

You did it. You have grasped the true meaning of the game! (Who would have thought, considering the game's name)

You've invested blood, sweat, and tears to unlock every single achievement in this game. Hats off to you, you little frog. Thank you for reading the guide, I hope I was able to help you! If you have any suggestions or criticism, please feel free to write it in the comments.
