Go to https://spansh.co.uk/systems

Select the following options, and copy the settings on the right.



Set your Reference system. This is the place where you want to buy the colony beacon.

Click search.

If an entry in the results list has the name of a faction alongside it, the system has been claimed already.

Use the galaxy map to check each system to see if it's already been claimed (many commanders don't sync their game with EDDN/Inara/etc ... so their data is never shared.)

You can increase the distance and change the reference system by clicking the Main Fields button above the search results and editing your parameters.

Most half-decent systems in the bubble have been claimed, but you can still find plenty with a few landable planets and a bunch of slots for space stations and installations. Perfect for a first system.

However, wherever you decide to start, I would recommend building somewhere near one of the Trailblazer supply ships as they carry stocks of all the goods you will need in one place.
