Want to run CS2 at glorious 4K without detonating your machine? Tired of running your game at either 1080P or 1440P and using AMD's joke of an upscaler FSR1? Then this guide is for you!


The paradox launcher siphons your data and sends it back to data brokers in Europe. Not only does this slow down your internet speed but the launcher also prevents Optiscaler from injecting its settings into the game. Time to say bye bye to that bloatware.

Once you have prevented and uninstalled the PDX Launcher you can then proceed to install optiscaler.


CS2 uses NVIDIA's DLSS 2 technology. Optiscaler uses the NVIDIA based files to inject FSR 4 into your game and we can move years ahead of Paradox who seem to be preoccupied with making new paid DLC instead of fixing/improving their game.

Once you have downloaded the ZIP file, use any extraction app you like and Unzip to your game directory

If you are unsure where your game is located you can find it by right clicking CS2 in your library and selecting browse local files. Once there, copy the file path and paste that when asked where to unzip the Optiscaler files.


Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and locate the file amdxcffx64.dll. Copy this file into the same bin\x64 directory where you extracted OptiScaler. --- (This is necessary for Cyberpunk 2077 but possibly not for CS2. If someone knows otherwise please leave a comment. Thanks :)

After you've unzipped your files into the games main directory look for the file called -- Optiscaler Setup.bat

Run the file. If windows stops it because it suspects its a virus, click run anway. Windows inst great at discerning which files are mods or viruses.

Run OptiScaler Setup -
Execute the optiscaler setup.bat script. When prompted:

Select option 1 for dxgi.dll​

Choose your GPU - AMD/Intel

If asked about using DLSS inputs, select YES


Open the OptiScaler.ini file located in the same directory. Find the line:

Dx11Upscaler=auto
and change it to:
Dx11Upscaler=fsr31

Enable FSR 4 Manually

Open the OptiScaler.ini file again and add or modify the following line:
Fsr4Update=true

Save and close the file.



Firstly make sure you're running your game at fullscreen and below your native resolution (Ex. 1080p to 1440p) and ensure Super Resolution is enabled in your Radeon Driver settings.

Head into your graphics settings and now you should see the NVIDIA DLSS option enabled even though you have an AMD card. Change this to Maximum Quality

After "enabling" DLSS press the Insert key to open the OptiScaler overlay. In the overlay:

Ensure that FSR 3.x is selected in the top drop-down menu.​ Click Apply.

FSR 4 is an upgraded version of FSR 3. Just because you have selected FSR 3.x DOES NOT mean you are running FSR 3. As long as you have an AMD 9000 series+ card you will be fine.


Assuming you did everything correctly you should see a massive increase in performance if you were running your display nativley as well as a major decrease in ghosting. Have fun!
