Description

This is a remake of "Shikhondo(食魂徒) - Soul Eater", some aspects were more polished but others weren't. "Hardcore Mode" gives you one life and no continues to clear the game, but makes your "Soul Collect" rechargeable hyper with 2 bullet cancels charge twice as fast. I was attempting to get the achievement "Super Player" for beating this mode on Extreme difficulty, but it didn't unlock properly, and I just got the achievement for clearing the mode at all instead. My route mostly went according to plan, but there were some mess ups in there, in particular I remember needing to bomb unexpectedly on Stage 3 boss and completely messing up my strat for the last Stage 6 midboss.

While the end route didn't require too much precise dodging, having only 1 HP for the whole run made the hard stages 4-6 very chokeable. In particular, the Stage 5 boss which was already the hardest part of the original game had her 2nd phase reworked to have even harder patterns... however, it seems boss HP was lowered across the board, so at least you can now just 1 cycle her before she repeats her patterns. All in all, this took me about 80 hours of routing/practice/runs across the two versions of the game on Steam, and was really challenging for me to pull off, taking multiple days of attempts even after I'd finalized my strats and was more or less satisfied with practice consistency.

This was for achievements:
"HardCore Mode Clear." - Beat Hardcore mode (on any difficulty)
"Super Player" - Clear hardcore mode on extreme difficulty (BUT this didn't unlock, and is apparently broken.)
