You may need to play to few times in other modes to get your points up to unlock nodes.

[Alliance] - Initial 2 high level characters (you will notice there is a * [star] when you read the highlight character). You will want to focus on these as they are better quality characters, available after you upgrade to level 4

[Destiny] - basic 6 attributes of equipment increased by 20%. Stronger equipment stats

[Echo] - Gain 3 free refresh from elite nodes. This allows you to keep refreshing to your desired items

[Alliance] - Purchasing characters increases strength, agility, and intelligence by 5% stackable up to 20 times. So buying lots of characters to fit your team will benefit from this.

I decided to select these weapons to play freeze and bleed build, if you have not unlock them you could go into Bestiary and unlock it with gem (blue crystals?)

Feathered soul bow (+1) - you use an item that silence yourself and give you 100% attack speed. Since the bow has no ability. It will shoot multiple arrows and pair it with freeze item for a chance to freeze enemies. Your carry items, you need these on 3 characters to carry you through to 300+ stages; amazing CC (crowd control) item!

Necrotic shield (+1)- I find that this item keep your team alive, put him on a tanky character with hp and tenacity. At max level ( you get protect your teammates to not take more than 6% of their own hp as damage for 6sec)

Blood barrier (+1) - help increase damage to your team. If i remember correctly, adds 60% damage boost for 5sec at max level

Zither (+1) - Grant joy state - +50% strength, agility, and intelligent. +35% crit rate. +75% crit damage for 5sec

Moon blade (+1) - put attack speed items with this weapon; you will be able to get like infinite self immune has it last 6sec but then you be able to recast before 6 second ends to reapply ability.

Blood demon scythe - Attack 2 front enemies. Ability attack 3 front enemies and knock back. If the target is bleeding, then they take 100% damage for 10sec and take 5% of targets hp as abnormal damage (but capped at 30,000). Can be good, but the feathered soul bow is better as in later stages there are too many mobs.

Steamer basket - helps to heal your team and provide some damage boost

Ideally you would want 1x Necrotic shield, 4x damage items (ie 3x feathered sow bow, 1x scythe or moon blade), 3x support items (such as Blood Barrier, Steamer Basket, Zither) or (bleeding dagger, blood demon scythe, blood barrier) etc.

Reason for that is you want to maximise your contract tree to maximise the stats boost you get, will explain further in the next few sections

From here, you want to get your magic book to level 4 ASAP, reason for that is you get to find better character with * to their name (you see the [star] next to initial passive . These are the elite characters I presume as they perform better.

Because you already started with two elites, and a special item, use it anyway you like to maximise the damage.
To get through to magic book level 4, having 4/5 character is sufficient.

Therefore, upgrade magic book to level 2, and buy 1 or 2 characters to get you through; you will later replace these characters with elites ones that fit into your team compositions.

then buy any items such as weapons, accessories, can be common grade, when you have a carry character just put the best item on it to get you through to magic book level 4 and beyond.

When picking enemies, choose one that give you the most total income such that either gold or reduction to your magicbook upgrade etc. You should be able to beat them comfortable, if not its ok, keep buying items for your characters. Because you get to heal grimoire hp as you beat pass stages.

NB. Dont worry about synthesis item yet until you get to level 4. The faster you get to level 4 the quicker you find your elites characters for your team. The aim of the game is to level up your magic book as it provides better quality items, extra grimoire hp, and blessing etc. As shown in the book icon next to your grimoire hp.

Remember to level up your characters too as you progress through stages.

You can also adjust to your desired speed, I usually play at max 3x as the game can get pretty long when you try to run pass 200 stages of endless.

From here you want to fill out your team with elites characters.
This is my team for 300+ level at the moment.

I find Requiem Crimson Knight set is amazing on this character with strength boost.
Accessories; Silence, Ice stone, and Iron Fist.

This character does more damage due to slightly higher crit chance

more of a filler chracter to maximise contracts and also use the ability of immunity

Compassionate blue jelly fish; good stats for healing, which goes well with Steamer basket,
Zither, and blood barrier. you want the level attribute; "When HP first drops below 50%, stuns all enemies for 5 sec." Theres an increase all allies damage by 20% until battles end.

Not an elite, but using it mainly for level 7 & 10 as a support character.

Tank character - nice level 7 passive where he can extend his life for 10sec before dying. Fights usually finish by15sec anyway

Main focus is levelling up your magicbook, the higher the more health you get and chances of higher level rarity items.

Frost contract; Get the deep freeze blessing, and also the ice stone accesory

Must go to event; as the Requiem Knight set is what you are after. When do you get it, upgrade it to (+1) max item level if you can. Because you can go to Blacksmith event to clone or get the him to make you a missing set.

You need him to duplicate your sets! Requiem Knight set does not show up in shop, so you have to get copies of it some how.

Other notable events such as:
Might hunter event - you exchange two items for two different items, hoping for Requiem Knight sets items
Ice events - such frozen; frozen legacy 2, blizzard; frozen legacy 1
Have frozen items or blessings we need
Rat event - I think its the first option, where u get 10% off in shops

Currently have 31 contracts

I maxed out ranger tree, maxed out melee tree, and the priest tree.
Others are not so important, but good to have.
Prioritise on getting damage stats. This is like a glass cannon build. Our fights usually finish by 15secs once everything is online.

This treasure synergy allows +25%HP and +25% damage boost.
You gotta have the items on your heroes to activate it; can spread the items.

Soul shark BOSS blessing; at start stuns 7 sec
Deep chill and ice blast are good for with Ice stone accessory to freeze.
Bloodbath, bleed, and tactical vitality - help focus on bleed and extra damage. Think the bloodbarrier proc even thought we are immune to bleeding.
Tactical infusion & damage boost - more damage

Still healthy, and the fights are about 10-15secs.

In later stages may need another Feathered soul bow character, probably swap out with Moon blade, since right now we are fight group of 35mobs.

Max lvl30 spell book at stage 375

ok got to level 405 and still healthy. Feel like we can go endlessly as the monster are not getting stronger, feel like we have beaten all the possible monsters in the game. you can tell because their synergy of contract is like <15.

You want more challenge? Try the hardcore mode, and let us know how you go. This build would work too, but cant use the necrotic shield and moonblade i believe.
You want to pick choices that give you more physical damage, and avoid enemy team to have physical resistance or reduce physical damage to us etc.
Looks dev wants us to try hardcore mode.
