Intro / Disclaimer
Welcome to this compendium of mysteries.
I'm going to try to explain the mysteries I/we found over the first chapter of this game. I won't ping every details of this world, but focus on the most intriging ones. Or at least the ones that looks related to something bigger.

It is going to be full of spoilers!
So if you don't played the game yet, please, leave this place and come back later :)

Without further ado, let's discuss about thoses non-sense!
Web series / History
For the few of you that didn't know, Ena is a web series (youtube). I strongly recommend to watch it, till it might have some clues in it. Never know.
For now it seems like the game itself is enougth to get through the mysteries!

~35 minutes of video

Hub's Hidden Symbols [unsolved]
You can found 2 mysterious symbols in the hub area.
Located on the 2 small islands behind the stairs, symbols are somehow hidden. And what's hidden is important. Even children are aware of that!
For now, I did not found those symbols anywhere else in the chapter.

More and more people are checking the symbols on their adventure and... they tend to get different symbols... We don't know why. May be we should make a lib of every existing symbols.
Hub's Closed Doors Alley [unsolved]
This one is just a feeling. I don't have much, but I would like to share it.
What about the alley of closed shops in the hub? The alley itself is ok, looks basic, nothing special. But you can find intriging things.

The light symbols overing the doors
Them look like simple decorations, but it is hard to not see the little details in it. Some of them are repeating themselfves, other are unique. 2 have dobble color. 2 are shaking. 1 is tuned off. 3 are visible with pause menu shader, the other turn pitch black.

The gray link between the doors
Gray metal lines look like links, might be refering to the web series.

The secret passage
(see entrance in previous screen) Could be nothing, but the game teach us that a lot of things have been hidden! Plus, the light symbols are going progressively higher and higher: a path for jumps?
Using a glitch allows you to fall into that secret passage. It seems that it is, indeed, a working tunel to... the taxi labyrynth... Hum, no sense...

The Knocking animation locking the player
Most of all in this alley, the door's knocking animation do lock player's movements. Why isn't it the case everywhere else?! It has 2 main consequences: your eyes are locked (may be something is moving in your back) and you have 1~2s of waiting time that could be the time required to do something else (like taping a number, or use an item)

Anyway, it could simply be a hook for later chapters.
Dratula's Face Numbers
Did you see his faces? They seems to have hidden numbers inside!
If you check his smiley loop, you found a simple loop of 6 faces (may be more hidden in very short iframe?). One of the face is a mystery for me: I don't find any number in it... Do you ?
It is not clear if it is intended or not.
Assuming there is a code here, it should be something like: 156633 or 156635, or maybe a combo of both 156633156635

@timestopMachinist suggests "dratula's face note is made of japanese characters, it's not numbers. it's pretty likely that most of them don't really translate to anything".

Plus, randomly during his talks, a short animation apears behind him. A wolf, a dark cloud and a house. Hum... A squared house? I mean, ok for the wolf, ok for the cloud, but a "house"? why?
The house is dark purple, with 2 porsches, 1 door and 4 windows. Look familiar? Well, not really, but it might be a hook for the first scene of the game. Under the red sky, we could find a lot of squared house with foors and windows... We may had miss something over there. Not sure at all.

Several players said that the symbols used in the faces are, in fact, common japanese symbols. They agree to say that they do not mean anything... So, we may have a wrong lead here.
(@timestopMachinist @DaVince)
Purple Holes over the chapter [unsolved]
All of us have seen those. And we all agreed: there is something here.
The texture felt out of the place: they have been put here in purpose. Wich means they're suiting some goals.
No more clue for now.
"They say if you hear three, you can see it" [unsolved]
This mistery come from the little brainman. You can find him first at the bottom of the flesh cave in the clock room, using the human board.
He said:
  • Bells...
  • Ask not for whom the bell tolls, ENA.
  • The key to enter the bathroom... two isn't enough.
  • They say if you hear three, you can see it.
  • I am hiding from the civil authorities.
  • As I said, I am hiding from the civil authorities. They saw I was going to the Purge Event and tried to do terrible things to stop me. I am hiding now in this dank pit. It may be small and dark and cramped and I may never be able to leave again... But at least I'm not in prison.
  • Good luck.

You meet him again in the gray world, hidden on the left side of the boat:
  • The civil authorities got bored and left... And, as my hole in the ground was disappearing, I found I had to leave too. I'm here now on this large object. It may be huge and empty and grey and there may be nothing interesting in the sky or on the ground and nobody to talk to and I may never be able to leave here for thousands of years. But at least I'm not in prison.
  • Bells.

So it's about bell, and something we have to hear 3 times.

Launch of the game
When your launch the game, you can hear 3 rings of some kind of bell before the title screen displays. This would means: hearing those rings allow us (players) to come and see the world of the doors.

The 3 Taxi's heads
The taximan has a 3 heads-in-one. When you found them, he actually use one of them to talk. It looks like it is random. The three of them have different personality, but they all drive you to the purge maze in the end. Plus, it looks impossible to talk to the three of them in the same run, and there is no bell here.
The Lonely Tomb [unsolved]
In the main area, a secret passage leads to a lonely tomb.
Behind the main building boat stands a bridge that leads to nothing. At least, it seems. The only visible/interesting thing in this area is a few stones... wonderfull. Let turn b... WAIT! Is that an arrow? Oh oh, lets follow the stones then. And you quickly find some kind of stone tomb.
It says "This statue's link is not yet secured" and "Missing Chaperone; Cannot etablish link."
So this is probably some kind of teleport. But for where, or from where?

Might be a simple easter egg tho...
Cave window showing Ena talking to a Snakeship
In the building cave, in the room where you find the taxi's triple head, near the river level, you can find a black window. If you look through it, you may see a weird scene: Ena holding a colorfull lantern, talking with a snake-hippo ship, in a small room with a coffin as table, with a gold doggo.

The lantern is actually visible in the trailer.
In the trailer's scene, we can see Ena running on a giant bone spine overing a lime acid pool. As we never played this scene, we can assume that the lantern is for later purposes. For now, we don't know what this is about.
Lonely Skeleton in Catacomb
Before entering in the ear for the Purge Event Party, you can see a hole in the wall on the left. Like a lot of hole in this area, it is linked to another area. In this hole, you actually go through a catacomb tunel. The path is blocked in the end: it is supposed to be walk the other direction.
BUT you can barely see, from far away, a skeleton with a hat and some kind of bird spirit. The skeleton is sitting on the floor. Near them are an iron door and a path. No one has ever enter this place, so nothing sure for now.
But the path suggests there is another way to enter this place. Probably the golden door.

If you quickly check the holes nearby, you actually find a very suspicious one. Guess what? This same hole is being use by a spider witch. Very, very suspicious! Because each time the witch disappear, she actually use this type of secret passage to evade from the path.

At this point, I failed a lot trying to reach this hole. The jump is very hard and each time you fall, you have to come back by another bunch of jumps (also hard)... Wich make any try, a real pain...

How to try the jump
If you want to try this challenge, please, take video or screenshot if you can!
  1. Jump on the opened door of the car, then on the roof of the car (if the taxi is broken, you had already triggered the building fall cinematic, you have to redo it)
  2. Reach the first coffin and jump on the stone (see screenshot)
  3. Now is the most 2 difficult jumps: reach the second coffin and the third.
  4. For those 2 jump: sprint, jump at last moment, sneak at the end of the jump.
  5. Then follow the path of coffins, eventually, you reach the top of the area
  6. From here (where you can move freely in the whole area), check the specific hole we want to go in.
  7. Be a hero

@Boofini achieved to reach that hole, and it appears that it is a dead end, sadly.
Wich leaves the golden door as the only way in.
Spirit's Paths [unsolved]
In the spirit's lost village, you find a bunch of spirit trying to get your attention : green ones and yellow ones. Despite that the Robot King suggests that one of the faction is lying to you, we don't really know what the lie is about. The right path? Sure. But what about the other then? The king suggest "something sour about the greens". Let's find out!

So the first question is: who's lying ? Who's telling the truth?
If you just pay some attention to the spirit, it might looks confusing at first. Some of them are pointing a hut, some others are pointing at a fellow, and some other seems to point at nothing... But if you look closer, they actually all point at something. It's not random as we could believed in the first place.
We know one thing for sure: the hut we need to go to continue our journey. So, let's take a look at the spirits pointing that same hut. Actually, you find 2 yellow spirits pointing at the right hut. So we can now assume that the yellow ones are telling the "truth" (the right path). Interesting...

Well, we could guess that the yellows were telling the truth from the very begining. Remember the scene where the green spirit stunned the yellow one? The green one actually help his stunned friend to stand up, and copy his friends's posture. That doesn't mean anything 100% sure, but we could assume that the green one tends to fake.
But are their fake indications really worthless?

The second question is: what are the greens pointing at?
Because it's not random neither. Greens are following the same behavior than the yellow ones. They're just pointing at something else.

Here is a map of the spirits and their relation at each others. And... boom. Greens are leading to a specific hut!

What this hut is about? And how to make it works?
This is the mystery I bring to you. I don't have further indication about this, but I'm pretty sure there is something here!
Please, comment any related information!

Remember, all it takes is a place and the right food [unsolved]
The genius said "Remember, all it takes is a place and the right food".
It looked important for the adventure, because this sentence/cinematic is unmissable, whatever you chose to do during the chapter. But as this sentence occured at the end of the chapter, it might be an advise for later on (chapter 2?). I personnaly understand this as "food items may trigger effects if you use them for the right NPCs/doors/interactables".
Whatever, lets search a bit through this.

What could be related to food in chapter 1?
As the lore of Ena is really atonishing, food could be almost anything. So, I suggest we start by the most common things.

Chocolate coins from the 4 Pets quest
The 10 coins from the quest given by the woodden horse are actually made with chocolate. Might it be considered as food? Absolutly, the horse himself tells us it IS food!

Mayonaise from the 10 coins
Mayonaise felt food in our human straight world. But in Ena Dream BBQ, we use it to blind a character. May be mayonaise is not really food in this world? The description of the item mentionned it as a "cream"...

Banana from the web series
From the web series, a Banana is the center of one scene. The man in pink robe and green hair says : "Drink the blood and smoke the banana."
In the video, skip to 9'50s to see the banana.

Turron from the web series
(see same video at 3'38 and 8'18)
Turron is also a food used as a trade item in the web series (suggested by @leshy skok). We don't find any of it in the game for now.
Turrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrron!

What could be the place to use the food?

Honkey Jong ask for 10 coins
During his long, looooong conversation, Honkey finaly ask for 10 choco coins.
@jcwred said that Honkey didn't even comment the donation! I confirm it, it looks like it is a simple sentence like the other 100... nothing special.

Spider witch VS mayonaise
In the adventure, we use mayonaise to blind the magenta spider witch that lurks at the rat. It does feels like this is a proper use of it, as the mayo is "a cream that blocks vision".

The only thing I noticed was simply when you touch the house the green beings are pointing to, they disappear once you head into the correct hut and meet the genie Theodora (I think that's her name?)

Although it could totally mean something, I think the house that appears behind Dratula is most likely just a reference to the old folklore story that vampires need to be invited into a home before they can enter.

in tutorial (red room) you can parkour a triangular boulder to speak to a flea

in the beginning of the game, Froggy mentioned something about the boss (or maybe the genies) that he must be a banana smoker, then said how lewd.

the hut in the green dudes and yellow dudes area doesnt bring you anywhere. i was confused on what to do and followed the green peoples pointing, turns out i got to the hut, opened it and nothing was there.... the only hut that did anything was the "true" hut

@DaVince Thank you for you feedback (I updated the Dratula's face theory)!
Very interesting. About the coral door/fence, indeed, it felt we miss some thing. I'll add it in a few days ;)

also I have a theory. How does Froggy know where we are and calls us? well if you explore the "lobby" before you enter the lonely door, at the borders of the rocks near the "water" you could find a little purple hole (?). When you took the taxi and you have to go throught a maze following a pink childlooking creature, in one of the "corridors" (idk how to translate that) with an ending you can see at the end the exact same purple hole. I think might be Froggy who is using these wholes cuz just when you arrive at the place to enter the purge event, Froggy calls you knowing where you are!

I think I got a rare easter egg! at the middle of the city looking map once you crossed the lonely door a golden "human" sized toilet appeared. I got too close and it started to spin and dissapeared. Did somebody else got that? I think there is a small chance in each saved run to get it, saying cuz I am trying to get Sick Tricks and made like 30 saves

One mystery I'm not seeing on the list - the inaccessible door covered by coral in Uncanny Valley on one of the buildings, and the same kind of coral barrier in the lost village in the secret area with Nonkey Jong (if you plant a head at the grave).

I think it's currently theorized that this is something that will only unlock later. It VERY much seems like you would need a special item that we simply don't have in chapter 1.
DaVince 15 Apr @ 2:15pm
Anyway, interesting theories. I don't necessarily think all of them actually lead to anything, or might be looking into things a bit too much, but it's still better to have them documented in case something does come up in the future!

I'd also like to close up with a few spelling corrections for the article. ;)
Serie -> series. Not just for several series, but also for one single series.
Mayoneese -> Mayonnaise.
