1. How to Enable the Steam Console
  • Close Steam completely. (Optional may be needed for some users)

  • Press Windows Key + R or Type Run in the windows search bar

  • Type "steam://open/console" in the Run window

  • Launch Steam—you should now see a Console option next to your Steam name.
2. Find the Correct Depot ID
  • App ID (Game ID) – 3244220 (for A Game About Digging a Hole)

  • Depot ID – 3244221

  • Manifest ID (specific version) – 7401525020583631768

Here's the code:
download_depot 3244220 3244221 7401525020583631768
3. How to Download the Old Version
  • Open the Steam Console

    download_depot 3244220 3244221 7401525020583631768

  • Wait for Steam to finish downloading. It will tell you where the files are saved (usually in Steam\steamapps\content\app_3244220\depot_3244221).
4. Replace the Current Game Files
  • Navigate to your game’s install folder (usually Steam\steamapps\common\A Game About Digging a Hole).

  • Backup your current game files (copy them somewhere else).

  • Copy the old version files from the depot folder into your game directory, replacing the existing files.
5. Prevent Steam from Auto-Updating
  • Right-click the game in Steam > Properties > Updates.

  • Set Automatic updates to Only update this game when I launch it.

  • Optional: Launch Steam in Offline Mode to prevent updates entirely.
