Intro
So, after fighting a lot with the lack of optimization in this game. I finally found what worked for ME.

I have a nvidia series 3000 card and I was getting between 13 to 80 fps. Doing literally nothing. It goes up and down like crazy. It was unplayable.

Deleting the shader cache works 100% of the time but I had to delete it for every session and recreate it again every time. Otherwise the next session it will be back to 13fps.

Upgrading DLSS / FSR / XeSS
What is currently working better in my case was upgrading the DLSS..

You can do it manually but I did it with DLSS Swapper:

https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper

Just download the latest version, open it and select Final Fantasy > DLSS > install the newer one. (you can upgrade FSR and XeSS while you are there)

And done.. Now I have super stable 60fps.. With less GPU usage and no need to delete the shader cache (I would recommend delete it at least once after upgrading the dlss tho)

It's that one file inside:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XVI

Alternative for Older Cards
Lossless scaling 3.0, with frame gen at X2 works like a charm too!

After SEVERAL fixes, this is the one I needed. DLSS/FG needs an update. Fixed my problem, thank you!

I also found out that replacing the dstorage dlls with a new one also reduced the stutter problem a little

I currently have an RTX 3060 w/ 6GB VRAM in my laptop. My FPS usually lands around the 10-30 FPS range but after following countless optimization guides and tutorials, yours was the last piece of my puzzle that I needed in order to hit the 50-60 FPS mark. Updating the shaders via DLSS Swapper really helped! Thank you so much for this guide!
