Rebinding Controller Buttons
By Mostly Hairless µC ⛳
While Super Video Golf has native support for rebinding keyboard input, to rebind controller input you'll need to use Steam Input. This guide explains how to do that using the Steam desktop client.

Remapping Controller Buttons
First make sure the controller you wish to remap is connected. Once Steam recognises it you will see this icon appear on the library page for Super Video Golf:

Click on the icon and the Steam Input configuration window will now open. If it's not enabled already, click the button to enable Steam Input:

Once Steam Input is active you can browse for configurations you've already saved or downloaded, or you can edit the default configuration. To edit the button mapping click Edit Layout.

In the new window that opens you can now reassign the buttons to the connected controller. This means you can also assign keyboard keys to the controller, as well as other controller buttons:

Go ahead and remap the controller buttons as you please! 😁
Steam Deck Specific
On the Steam Deck all controller inputs are mapped with Steam Input by default. The controller configurator can be opened similarly by going to Super Video Golf in your library and tapping the controller icon.

From here reassigning controller buttons is the same process, although the Steam Deck has 4 extra paddle buttons on the back. For Super Video Golf it can be useful to bind these to keyboard keys such as F4 which opens the multiplayer chat window, or F5 which will take a screenshot.
