Be Prepared for Hard work!
I discovered the following regarding comix, and I hope the information might be useful:
(This is the definitive edition on 18/08/2025)
Once you maxed out all your Hero’s, like I did after 4500 hours in the game, it gets increasingly difficult to improve your Hero’s stats, because by then you have nearly all the gear you want and to find higher stats on them is nearly impossible. The only way to increase your stats then is with comix. I wish I knew that from the start, because I didn’t care about comix in the beginning.
First of all, you need to find the stone of the fanatic for each Hero. It gives you an increased chance to find comix from any strong box. You can buy them from vendors, or get them as rewards at villains and cloning labs. Visit the vendor in Pacific North West to purchase an epic collector's stone that can be upgraded on 14 December 2024 for example. Ensure that all your Hero’s has one. I tried to equip two stones at the same time, but for me it felt like it didn’t double your chances to find comix, except when searching for Black Panther’s comix in the Wakanda region. I found Black Panther’s comix all over the War Table in random regions and missions, but they are extremely rare there. To improve your chances to find Black Panter comix in mainly golden boxes in Wakanda Missions up to 22%, equip 2 stones and increase your Proficiency in order to gain a higher perk chance. I got my perk chance up to 65% and calculated a chance to find 22 illusive Panther’s comix for every 100 mainly golden boxes opened in the Wakanda Region! I discovered this when I still needed 265 Black Panther Comix. I had to do 1685 Wakanda threat missions to get all 265! At the end my success rate dropped to 15,73% as I started completing the sets on Tier 5.
With at least one stone of the fanatic equipped, open all strong boxes. The silver strong boxes in underground vaults in Inhuman Condition, Our Town, Blood from a Stone, Bad Blood, Stark Realities, etc. will always give a random comic, even without a stone, so don’t pass on that opportunity. With the stone equip you sometimes can get 2 comix from one box, when that box normally gives a comic without a stone, like DNA chests, golden boxes and silver boxes in underground vaults. Cloning Labs, with all the DNA chests so close to each other, is also a nice farming spot for comix. The most comix I have found in one mission were 6, from Our Town, Tachyon Rift: Break Out, and City under Siege Elite 7 from a Cloning Lab, 8 from Desert Vault Elite and 9 from the 33 boxes that I know of in Snowy Tundra Vault Elite. Sadly 7 of the 9 didn’t count and from the Tachyon Rift and City under Siege Elite, none of the 6 counted, because they were already on Tier 5. That is the most frustrating part of all of this at the end stage!
Besides the boxes, you are also rewarded comix for completing Harm Rooms. The easiest one is Black Widow’s comix in the red room event. You have to complete each level 100 times to get all 500. It shouldn’t take you more than 4 minutes per challenge.
Just press “E” for details at the other Harm rooms, to see what Hero’s comix will be rewarded.
Thor has a few harm rooms that rewards his comix, It shouldn’t take you more than 8 minutes per challenge. In theory then it should take you 900X8=7200 minutes or 120 hours. But there is a rare comic in every set, and therefore I had to run it 1 000 times in order to get all 900 in the Thor set, including the rare 1968 # 151 comic.
Harm 1 and a Priority Harm will reward the other Natasha collection.
Harm II will reward Captain America’s Comix. You can expect to run it 569 times to get all 500.
Harm III rewards Clint’s comix. You can expect to complete it 824 times to get all 700!
Harm IV will reward Hulk’s comix and you can expect to run it 671 times to get all 600.
Harm V will reward Ironman’s comix. Unfortunately, I didn’t count all the extras when I did Ironman, Kamala and Natasha’s collections.
A Priority Harm Room can reward Kamala’s and Kate’s collections. You can expect to complete it 548 times to get all 500 for Kate.
Another Priority Harm room, can reward random comix not for a particular Hero. But in my experience, it is sometimes bugged, and you receive zero comix and that sux!
To farm comix in Harm rooms while you are sleeping, find 3 willing team mates in different time zones who can repeat Harm rooms, while you stay in the strike team and go to sleep. When they go to sleep and you wake up, you do the same while they stay in the strike team.

The comix increases your base stats. I have found all 8800 comix after 9 600 hours in the game. Since I started counting the extras too, I have collected at least 14 520 comix in total!

Now for the last 25 comix, I opened 13 642 boxes from 974 missions, found 2155 comix, of which 25 was from the rarest Maestro comic (1962) #460 I still needed.

It takes a lot of time, hard work and dedication and is extremely repetitive to collect them all… my success rate at first was around 22% and I found on average 3 comix per mission… at the end it went down to 2,2 comix per mission at a success rate of 0,01%... but… you gotta get them all!

At this stage it increased my Max Willpower with 25%, Willpower Recovery 33%, Heroic Charge rate 10,5%, Perk Chance 9%, Status resistance 17,5%, Stun/Status damage 21%, Critical chance 10.7%, Max Willpower 2,5%, Crit Damage 5,1%, Heroic damage and effectiveness 8,5%, Ranged damage 10,2%, Melee damage 6,8% and Armor 15%.

Is it worth all the hard work??? In my opinion: YES!!! The improvements are surely noticeable in my experience. Except for the last 25 of the very rarest comic… Then it just gets ridiculous!

I WISH you Good Luck in hunting those comix, especially Black Panther’s collection (particularly 2005-8 Edition 35, and specifically Maestro’s 1962 #460, the rarest of them all!
Lastly: Any regrets? Yes, I have 4 regrets: I didn’t equip the collectors stone from day one. In the beginning I wanted to power up and get all the CXP on max as quick as possible without using cheats. I tried to finish missions as fast as I could and didn’t care enough about the boxes or comix. I would have been done with the comix sooner if I did that; and secondly, I didn’t know that Black Panther’s comix are more common in the Wakanda region; and thirdly that I didn’t complete his set first before the other sets; and lastly that I didn’t wait with the easier Harm rooms till the end and that I didn’t do the non-Harm room comix before the Harm rooms. So… please learn from my mistakes!

What I do appreciate is all the players who waited patiently that few extra seconds I needed to open all the boxes. Thank you very much for your concideration!

What I do not appreciate at all, is the extremely low drop rate of the rarest comic, and that the developers decided to not fully reward us for all our hard work and dedication, and rather decided to NERF us. We could have been much stronger! But… on the other hand, we can kill the biggest and strongest bosses in seconds!
