How to install your shiny new maps?
1. Download the archive with a map and open the archive. Make sure that you have a map folder with all off the map files inside.

2. Open this path in your system file explorer - Documents/Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data/Maps(use Command and Conquer Generals Data for original Generals maps)

3. Put your map folder with its files from archive in here. Make sure that you don't put the map folder in another folder, it will not appear on the list of maps in game

4. Boot up your game and choose Skirmish. Click on choose map and pick non-official maps. Pick the map and start the game.
Important Notes
1. Don't put too many maps in the Map folder. If you have GenTool installed, don't put more than 300 maps inside. If you have an original game without GenTool, don't put more than 90 maps inside. If you put a lot of maps there, you won't be able to see them. I recommend dropping in a couple of maps, play them, and then replace them with other maps.

2. Some of these maps will be very old or have some bugs that won't allow you to finish them. Make a lot of saves and be patient. Don't be discouraged if you can't beat a map, you can always find more maps to play.

3. If you feel lazy, searching for maps yourself, you can download this archive, that was somewhat sorted by me from all the sources above. The downside is that you can't leave feedback for authors who created and posted their maps or read author’s description about the maps which may be important. Please leave as much feedback as possible for map/mod authors to give them motivation and suggestions on how they can improve their existing/future maps/mods. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tonMdHLoqEYjYYmXMYL4FA4HSChSlKed?usp=drive_link
Good luck
