Scrap The Bugs
With this guide you will be able to make use of the underutilized mechanic of picking up corpses. You simply need to escort them to the scrapper.

While holding a corpse (or other object) you lose access to your wall jump and dashing will make you drop the item.

After successfully escorting your corpse and depositing it in the scrapper, it will output a bunch of blood from the top and a green item based on the enemy type that was scrapped.

Note: You can only scrap one corpse per area.

I have documented the results from my testing below. Elite corpses don't seem to differ from base enemy type outputs.
Ants
Ant enemies will give you the Ant's Eyeball. Stacking this item increases the duration of the status effect by 1 second per stack.

This is also a slightly easier method to get the 'Eye for an Eye' achievement.

Beetles
Beetle enemies will give you the Beetle Ring. Stacking this item adds +30% more damage per stack linearly.

Flies
Fly enemies will give you the Lead Charm. Stacking this item increases the duration of the status effect - it has diminishing returns on stacks.

Locusts
There is only 1 locust enemy in the game: the dropkick hopper and it gives you the Burst Pin. Each stack gives you an additional consecutive dash.

Bloodsuckers
Bloodsucker enemies give you the Four Leaf Clover. Stacking this item increases the chance of damage negation and has diminishing returns (although not that diminishing since holding 10 nets to 44% negation chance).

Frogs
Frog enemies give you the Four Leaf Clover. Stacking works same as above.

This is a rare occurrence because the gun frog, the only scrappable enemy of the frog variety, can only (not guaranteed) spawn in St. Rekoil shrines, and those don't normally exist in the same level as a scrapper with the exception of specifically the final level.

Worms
Worm enemies give the Bloody Mandible. Stacking this item increases the duration of the status effect by 1 second per stack.

Gob grubs are the only worm enemy that can have their corpses be picked up.

Magicals
Magical enemies give you the Four Leaf Clover. (Are you seeing a pattern?)

This can only be a wisp because large wisps don't have corpses since they turn into 4 wisps on death.

Fish
Fish enemies give you the Damp Shirt. Stacking increases the maximum charge threshold but has diminishing returns.

Moths
Moth enemies give nothing. Regular moth enemies explode into a bloody pulp and dropping no corpse the only other moth enemy doesn't exist in the same level as a scrapper.
Crustaceans
Crustacean enemies give, once again, the Four Leaf Clover.

The easiest to acquire is the shroom shrimp that spawns in the mushroom area since the others rarely spawn outside of the level you encounter them - which has no scrapper in it.

Final Notes
I'm fairly certain that the Ritual Chisel uses the above pool of items to determine what drops from a killed elite.

Hope this helps! Go scrap those bug bodies!
